I know this is kind off irrelevant, but I actually have a tattoo with some "Here comes a thought" lyrics. That song is so powerful, I listened to it while I was really depressed, I wanted to kill myself. I found that my girlfriend was drug trafficking at night. I tried to talk to her and it didn't go well. I was so devastated. But the lyrics "Something you did, that failed to be charming", "What someone said and how it harmed you" made me realize how it wasn't my fault that what I said didn't work, she was the problem, she was doing me harm and not me to her. I swear when I heard, "Take a moment, remind yourself, find yourself" I realized how much I had lost myself, I wanted to commit suicide due to the bad decisions of another person. That song saved me, and im not exaggerating.
Every panic attack, every night crying because I didnt know where she was, if she was okay. Just hearing "it's okay" made me feel safe, like someone else understood me.

This show really is so magical tho, I watched this as a young adult for the first time and was shocked by how progressive it was and how they actually dealt with emotional plots instead of shoving them to the side like most shows. It's just amazing and I love it

Okay, but "Love Like You" has gotta be the real MVP song of the entire series.
Rebecca has said since the beginning that it's a song any one character could be singing to another character, and it's so appropriate that the final season (Future, that is) focuses solely on Steven being the singer of it directed towards everyone else. Everyone's always wanted to be able to love like how he loves, but the way he loves has ended up hurting himself more than anything. The line "love me like you" is especially true here with how heavily he deals with self-loathing in the last season. It's really an incredible song to span the entirety of the series and encapsulate the whole thing within one tune.

To me it kind of feels like it started out as Rose singing to everyone she loves, then it became Rose singing it to Steven, then it became Steven singing it to Rose, then Steven singing it to everyone. Maybe that’s just me though

as someone who’s been watching SU ever since Jailbreak, I feel like I sort of... take for granted just how good the songs and messages are in this show. Watching you analyze them and appreciate them really helped remind me why I adore this show so much, and how I’m going to miss it. (It also helps affirm to myself that the show is good on its own merits and that I’m not just liking something because everyone else is, even if it’s honestly not that good, which I tend to have trouble differentiating with myself) so uh. Don’t know how this was recommended to me because I’ve never watched the show or see any of your videos but I LOVED this. Seeing someone so willing to openly and completely try something new was the most refreshing thing I’ve seen in a while. And it’s also something I struggle with myself. Loved the video, probably going to binge your other videos instead of sleeping. I LOVE this. Side note: This convinced me to watch Steven Universe, and also Change your Mind brought me to tears lmaooo.
