  • A simple DIY project to make a glue pot for leathercraft gluing.
    In this video I show how to make a glue pot suitable for use with contact cement in leathercraft. Glue pots are much more convenient than glue applicators and save time on gluing. However, the real benefit is about customization. Making your own tools allows you to get the exact tool that you want rather than a one size fits all.
    Required Tools and Materials:
    - Glue brush
    - Airtight container or jar
    - Epoxy putty
    - Petroleum jelly or Aussie Leather Conditioner
    - Drilling equipment
    - Sandpaper
    Recommended Contact Cements (Amazon US Paid Links):
    - Barge amzn.to/3gYJwah
    - Weldwood amzn.to/2T0QKkY
    Glue Pots Available for Purchase (Amazon US Paid Links):

    Hi, great work👌 I wanna ask, can we use double sided tape instead of glu? Will it be as strong and durable as glu?

    • @TeranAtelier

      Double sided fabric tape is only really useful to temporarily hold leather together before stitching, I use it for holding the bottom of T-pockets when making wallets. It would not be good on the sides of leather projects as the leathers will eventually come apart. I recommend using either contact cement or white glue for permanent gluing.

    Hello , how do you clean your brush after using contact cement ?

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Emre, the main point of the glue pot is that it allows you to keep the brush always in the contact cement so that it never dries out. In this way you will never need to clean it.
