I love bluegrass, I don't know why. I'm from Central Europe (Slovak republic ) nobody listening this kind of music here . 😂I discovered Billy when I looked for some music which I can learnt play on the guitar and Billy is my guitar hero since then.😎 And I finally discovered my favorit kind of music.
And now Dickey is gone too. Not long ago, I walked into a Department store in near Johnson City, East Tennessee and heard two instrumentals back to back over the store PA system. One was Little Martha by Duane Allman, with Duane and Dickey Betts playing. The other was Wildwood Flower: Two songs that will live for a very long time in Americana. The original Allman Brothers Band was our music and we loved it but we had to give it up long before we were ready. God bless the original Allman Brothers Band and of that band, God bless Jaimoe, who is still with us. We love you Jaimoe. You were there from day one until the last day. Thank you.
If we were living back in the late 60s and early 70s when FM radio was really cool, they'd be playing Billy's music all the time and he'd be touring with the Grateful Dead and cutting albums with Jerry, Doc Watson and many others.
Yeah, it just blows me away [commercial] FM radio hasn't picked up on him yet.... Here in Chicago, we have WXRT, which back in the day, was a great radio station, and to this day, it still claims to be "progressive" and "Chicago's Finest Rock", but they suck like the rest of them.... At least they started playing Marcus King, so i guess that's a start, but they really need to give Billy and Co. some air time!!!!
Love this! But the real bonus for me was seeing Jarrod play the old Harmony tenor so very well. I started out on one just like it (except mine still had the pick guard) more than 50 years ago. Thanks for the great memories!
@@urbanvigar3322 I would say he's underrated in commercial radio-land. Hell, i have yet to hear him on the radio here in Chicago....tho, WXRT, aka- "Chicago's Finest Rock" station, played a Marcus King tune a week ago, so that's a start.
Just awesome. I don't think there's anything that Billy plays that I don't absolutely love. What's even better is the feeling of joy and honesty that comes through his playing and singing. I was floored by his version of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright." Stunningly beautiful. Thank you, Billy. And that you Dad on behalf of all us for getting you that guitar.
Awesome! Great to see a 4 string played as a serious instrument. It's the instrument every guitar player should start with. Anyone who is interested - a baritone ukulele is really a 4 string guitar.
Blessed to have you in my lifetime Billy!! ❤️ Remember when you played free at Music in the Park in Beulah, MI. I sure do, what a long strange trip it’s been.🙏
I never really listen to Bluegrass even though I love all music but since I've been listening to you for the past couple months I can already see how it's changed my playing style and I love it. I tell you what Billy I'm going cyber stalk you.
fuck yes!!!! iveseen so many brothersshowsin My day and this isthe jam that comes on when the shows over and your leaving the pavillion . god i miss that

This isn't bluegrass this is a cover of an Allman Brothers song. I agree though, bluegrass is great and Billy is an immense talent!
@@gdawgs101 Sorry but I just written my feeling from Billy 's playing. I'm don't talking just about this song. 😊 And I'm sorry for my English.
Well bluegrass only exists because Europeans settled in America so it is not as foreign as you might think!
@@slafco6666 You're good bro! You should check out the original recording of this song too, it's a beautiful piece of music.
@@alanloyd7164 Maybe yes but I never heared before something about bluegrass or some bluegrass song for example in radio.
Most beautiful song ever written in my opinion. Skydog might be gone physically but his music will live on forever
He just did it TONIGHT! RIP DICKEY
Eternal memory of little martha, elizabeth reeds, duane, greg berry and all!❤

I do believe both Duane & Dickey would approve of how well they covered Duane's gem of a composition.
Thiers no explaining the complexity and raw talent of These two players, simple a masterpiece. We'll done

Steve Vai, Lyndsay Buckingham and Doc Watson all rolled into one. Billy Strings - one of the greatest guitarists out there
Beautiful how the guitars were talking to each other.
Good Lord, boys. That's absolutely lovely. Thanks for keeping me sane out here.
I honestly want to know why anyone in their right mind would thumbs down this
Probably because it was played as if he was in a hurry to be somewhere. Almost everything about how he played this was excellent except the tempo.
@@parkerfilms1 probably because that's what they do more likely
Why focus on the negative? Enjoy the music.
@@parkerfilms1That’s my main complaint on Billy in general. He loves playing fast so much that sometimes it loses it feel.
I can't seem to get enough of your fantastic playing, solo, or with your friends Mr Billy S.
Thank you for being so available to enjoy.
Absolutely beautiful! Long live Skydog
Billy is one of the most Versatile and Underrated musicians Alive in My Humble Opinion and this Jarrod Guy seems Pretty Good Too🧡💚💙
Jarrod is amazing on Mandolin!

Sensational, this classic has a way of taking me back to Macon .
A beautiful performance of a beautiful song performed by two of the most talented musicians alive today. What a gift to the rest of us!
If only music was recorded like it is today for the allmans whole band history
Betcha Jarrod Walker wanted to play this. We all know what Jarrod Walker wants,Jarrod Walker gets😂😂 genius putting these 4-5 together.
What an incredible talent. A true artist.
Sounds so full and rich, yet these are not huge jumbos and dreadnoughts. Very well played. Thanks #MarkFeldhaus.
Are they Folk guitars?
@@donnaoberlin915I believe Jarrod has a tenor guitar or plectrum guitar. Maybe an expert can help us.
And not a Dobro
@@bubbafudpucker397 It's a tenor guitar tuned to mandolin tuning.
Nice work boys! Dwayne’s music lives on✌️🇺🇸✌️
Gorgeous song and unbelievably played. Duane would dig!

Maybe the best little martha cover. RIP Skydog.
You can certainly teach an old dog new tricks. Do it to it. 🤘
I enjoy you playing slow once in a while Billy. It's nice for a change. I hope you and your loved ones are well.
Peace has come to my soul when I listen to this. Thank you #billystrings
