My husband and I saw him at Frost last night (the night following this show) and I was commenting on that very thing. It was wonderful to see so many young people enjoying his bluegrass and other material. He’s doing wonders keeping pure, authentic, acoustic guitar-based music alive! 👏🏻

I first saw Billy Strings on Austin City Limits on PBS about a year and a half ago. I grew up on British Prog Rock, Mountain,James Gang and Grand Funk Railroad. In my 67 years of living I have never heard and liked a Bluegrass voice like ol' Billy...I'm a convert for sure.

I had the privilege of seeing Billy Stings live for the first time on Sept 30 , 2022 at Frost Amphitheater at Stanford. I was amazed. In addition to the stunningly clean and hot bluegrass playing there were times when I could close my eyes and swear that I was listening to Pink Floyd. That guy is immensely talented and whoever produces his touring show is world class. The sound and the special effects sounds were amazing, as well as the light show. I went to the show expecting to be impressed, but I was absolutely blown away and amazed by what I saw and heard.
He really is the new messiah for multiple genres and at such a young age... Anyone who talks him down doesn't realize he was better at age 16 than they are giving him credit for now....
I loved this song from my youth . Iam 65 years and I dont understand all the words. I am moroccan . Everytime I listen to it with a big pleasure . The melody is very nice.

Jackson Browne Great song writer and storyteller. He is iconic. I have loved his music since hearing him on my moms radio in the kitchen when i was a little girl. I waited about an hour called the radio station back and requested it again. After that 2nd time hearing it, i immediately went to the piano and started playing it. I have bought the album Running on empty 7 times. Album, 8-track, cassette 2x and im on my 3rd cd. Love his music and so thrilled to see him and Billy together, id like to hear them do more together.

Jackson is such a generous soul. You can tell that they are both having a great time. Billy getting to play with a legend, and Jackson seeing his music being carried on by the new generation. I love it! I saw Jackson live a few years ago and he came out and sang a couple songs with Sarah and Sean Watkins, who were opening for him. They both came out during Jackon's set and played and sang with him. It was clear that they were all just enjoying themselves and taking pleasure in performing together.
Last time I saw Jackson was at merry weather post with Willie Nelson. I was there to see Jackson but no dis to Willie. Jackson hit home with me many years ago. Such a real minded person.

Billy Strings performs songs for young people that they have probably never heard and he is only 32 (2024). He is spreading good music wherever he goes.
I'm 71 years old, and still perform out often. This song was such a powerful inspiration for me, and the lady who became my wife, and the mother of my family so many years ago. Having been a performer and writer (150 songs copyrighted) for my whole life, I have always noticed 'up and comings'. Billy Strings, being a major talent, I noticed him immediately, but just assumed he would be like so many others, relating only to the music of his peers, which I have to say are not that outstanding on average. But now, to my very pleasant surprise, he seems to be a spirit, like many of us, who know nothing of styles, eras, or trends, but has that amazing ability to tune in to soul, and what it is that has attracted us all to manifest here in this reality in the first place.. and that is to experience and love this world in its myriad of exciting adventures. I had a lump in my throat throughout the entire song. It was beautiful to see Billy share the stage with a legend, the great Jackson Browne. Billy is truly a musician’s musician, and he clearly reveres his elders. Excellent vocal by Billy.
This says so much about Jackson Browne's commitment and respect for younger musicians. It's a tribute to Browne's humbleness. Truly a blessing. Also, Billy Strings is fabulously talented.
And ....... When Jackson , as always , plays with another performer (except on his own venues or albums) he sings as a co-singer or backup singer giving the limelight to the other. And a promoter of young musicians and schools that need assistance for music education.
Jackson Browne was my musical hero since 1972 when I first saw him in concert. I have memorized the lyrics to several of his songs. Seeing Billy and Jackson together is a great moment in music as they both represent the height of popular music.
Gave me chills to watch Billy pull this off with JB and do it with his style. He's hitched himself to pull the next generations of young musicians and fans forward in music performed by musicians, not machines. Remember it was Billy "off the cuff" sitting in that living room a few years ago with just his guitar and of course Mr Green Shirt that brought a lot of us to find out about him.
Old guy saw JB do this a number of times. Billy is a breath of fresh air with an old soul. From Doc to Jerry G, JB & more. He brings the best of my musical generation to a new audience. I'll leave the blue ball knowing the music is in good hands.

The first thing I did after watching this was to watch it again and again. It is just fabulous. I’m a huge fan of J. B. and sharing this song with this unbelievable talented young man was just magnificent

That was great to watch. Thanks for posting it. It put a smile on my face and warmed my heart. Both these guys are not only great musicians, but great human beings. Don't miss a chance to see Billy play live. You won't regret it. Jackson Brown played at a cancer benefit to help raise donations for the event which my schoolmate was putting on as a three time cancer survivor. That's the kind of giving soul he is. Giving of his time and talents to help others. I also had the pleasure of performing a private laser show for Jackson in a small studio. He is so aware and thoughtful. Very down to earth. It was a great experience getting to spend some time with him. As he was leaving the studio, he stopped turned around and thanked me again by name for the show. I'll never forget the positive energy of being around that man.
Jackson , this o;d hippie first saw you open for Joni in Boston march 1971. You are so gracious to this kid I do not know, but so happy he' knows your music. That was just so much fun. That was great to watch. Thanks for posting it. It put a smile on my face and warmed my heart. Both these guys are not only great musicians, but great human beings. Don't miss a chance to see Billy play live. You won't regret it. Jackson Brown played at a cancer benefit to help raise donations for the event which my schoolmate was putting on as a three time cancer survivor. That's the kind of giving soul he is. Giving of his time and talents to help others. I also had the pleasure of performing a private laser show for Jackson in a small studio. He is so aware and thoughtful. Very down to earth. It was a great experience getting to spend some time with him. As he was leaving the studio, he stopped turned around and thanked me again by name for the show. I'll never forget the positive energy of being around that man.

Jackson , this o;d hippie first saw you open for Joni in Boston march 1971. You are so gracious to this kid I do not know, but so happy he' knows your music. That was just so much fun. Watching you both watching each other. That child was so excited to play with you. Great moment. Thanks Tim Bracken!
Billy is so reverential to who he plays with. I'm 48, and I still see him as a kid some, but he is so good, and he just loves it all.
