    I just got my Promoto last week and have run it one time and I just seen your video, so I checked my brakes and sure enough they were sticking as well. I did your fix and it works nice and smooth now, no sticking. I am so glad I seen your video before my brakes got jacked up too soon, I haven't drove it enough to even think about that issue. Many thanks to you and your excellent solution coming from an old mechanic, well done Earl!

    This is exactly the kind of thing I like to see. Taking the time to show everyone some of the steps you can take to fix a big problem. If the brake doesn't work right it will make a big difference.

    I appreciate your investigative pursuance into this based on your real world mechanical basis. That is what problem solvers do regardless of machine or scale. While I’m not an official mechanic, I am and I get you now. …… reduce tolerances so the aggregate can escape, nailed it!!

    In my opinion this is just what Losi needs this kind of feedback so they can fix this problem but also give some kind of warranty on this, just my opinion.

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe that if no one warranties the front brake that Losi won’t fix it but if they get a lot of call on the v2 it will be resolved I’ve seen HH deny there an issue on problems saying they’ve never had a call before 🤷🏻‍♂️

    That's good info, sir . 👍 everyone needs to do this . I emailed VITAVON to get their research and development department to start working on an all aluminum front brake caliper for the promoto mx. I bought their aluminum swing arm, and it is amazing . The quality is perfect. Stay cool 😎 thanks again for bringing it to our attention. Much respect.

    Way to go Earl! Mine did the same. I tried cleaning and adjusting around the spot and engage earlier. I got it working, by manually working arm back and forth. But now, I’m going back in, and look closer, and do this. I can see the wear on the pad, because I use my front brake a ton! Great video!

    I wondee if Vitivon, GPM, M2C, or any of these aftermarket companies can come out with an aluminum hydraulic caliper for this bike? Maybe if enough people show interest. Thank you Earl, for showing us this fix. I am curious if all the Promoto bikes are coming out of the factory with this binding caliper problem? The front wheel on mine does look as if is binding a little. I thought thats the way is supposed to be. But, I'll have to open up the caliper to confirm wether it is binding. Losi, or Horizon should definitely get on top of this problem. Before it becomes another public disaster for them.

    The brakes on my were a little tight from the factory, so I adjusted them just like on the LOSI video. Perfect ever since. Not sure why some are waring out pads. Mine are just fine..

    • @earlmoorhead5555

      The inner piston has a plastic molding edge the causes them to stick wears pads quickly if it gets stuck and you don’t catch it ✅

    That looks like a cheap mountain bike non hydraulic caliper the way it's working, what is probably happening is because it's not sealed any little tiny bit of dust from dirt that gets inside it will eventually cause scoring on the worm gear and part it rides in and it will eventually start binding, they should have used a rubber seal on it some how to stop debris from entering inside it.

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As I’ve shown there isn’t even dust in there 😮 the foam seal seem to work good

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@earlmoorhead5555you can't tell if tiny floating dust from smoke of the dirt in the air gets inside, but I do know once a bit gets inside it turns the plastic from black to that powdery grey color from it wearing the plastic that's why I think some gets inside it.

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ShenRC the dust your talking about looks to be the brake pad material as it on the pads as well, the white color on the plastic piston is where it rubs on the housing , as I’ve found even new before it’s ran if you move the brake lever all the way up it sticks , I felt the servo would never get that far up and was thinking it was binding like a screw that been turned to much, so I didn’t think twice about it. But later on the first run noticed it stuck dragging the front brake , and realized that I crashed on that side of the wheel thinking I caused it to jam. So I took the green one mine apart and noticed the issue, so I went to the hobby shop where the red one was run onroad to check that one having the same issue so people know what to look for! Me and the repair tech look close at the piston and found the mold line sticking even after sanding the outside noticed the grove having the same molding line causing the sticking and that’s where I’m at now 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi I know what you found and did you are correct in smoothing any mold lines off, I am just saying dust will get in and cause stickiness also I think losi should have used a O ring type seal on the brake caliper on each side so nothing can enter inside at all.@@earlmoorhead5555

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes a bearing with a seal would be better to seal out dirt the dust boot they have I noticed in the replacement caliper comes with two seals ? Idk why maybe there going bad so they give two as they expect us to service it ?

    That’s what you get with mass production, I guess these bikes are made and assembled in China. There will be lots of people assembling them who are just following a script to assemble them, they won’t check things like this, there no paid to. Lots of RC aircraft that are made in China suffer from the lack of glue when they are assembled, similar problem but different. If I get one the first thing I’ll do is check the brake and all the other parts on the model.
