I’m thinking the slop was half the problem
The other half the knobbly MX tyre
Fingers crossed you’re now good to go 🤞👍

That speed wobble also occurs to my old Anderson M5 Cross bike, I solved it with an oil absorber on the steering rod. In your bike you should be able to mount an oil steering damper somewhere between the clamps and the chassis, to gain some friction in the steering.

It's all about that extra click of the zip tie. Can't wait to see her rip now. Would t mind seeing that off road speed car again. Thanks for sharing keep up the great work.

As a racer oif RC motorcycles for the past 20 years... RC bikes NEED to have some play in the steering so that the wheel can self center (Like the front wheels of a shopping cart) since you're not actually ON the bike to feel what the wheel is doing and correct the movement... I"m not sure if this is your first bike or not... just an FYI, the slop is there on purpose... all RC bikes have self-centering, spring-loaded steering for that... since the beginning
For speed runs and what have you, what your're doing is OK (because the gyro compensates for the front wheel not castering) but there needs to be at least SOME play in the front wheel to work properly... but these bikes aren't meant for speed runs... it's a dirt bike... AND your wheel is bent (doesn't help).. if you want to do speed runs, get an on-road bike... I do 70MPH regularly with my race bike and a buddy of mine has the world record at over 98 (took the record from me after I got it the first year of the world record speed runs)

Zip ties and duct tape are some of the best inventions out there. Between the zip tie and getting rid of the bent wheel it should be good now i would think , the combination of a bent wheel and weak servo saver would most definitely cause a death wobble I honestly can’t see that no rider would affect anything but I guess we’ll find out

I think your front off road wheel has a bit to do with it as well. I noticed some bent spokes and thought it would cause an issue. Very first run with new wheel I hardly tapped a curb and it bent two spokes. Love the wheels but think Vitavons will be the andswer for max speed runs.

There is 500k diff fluid in the headset. Replace with 1million and its alot better. That acts as a steering dampener. Also add the spare spring to the servosaver that came with the bike then zip tie.

@earlmoorhead5555 I don't know. A lot of the content I see you put out. You have more issues with rc then I've seen and I've been doing this for over 15 years.

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@ralphhondaman I don’t have issue other then pushing an rc limits like I’m doing with the promoto Mx, when adding bigger power to any rc you’ll run into problems that need to be solved and I show ppl how to do it not keeping secrets is my big thing 💯🤷🏻‍♂️

If the rim is bent then you gonna have some wabble at higher speeds! Stick with the street tires and rims for speed runs! Not Moto tire's! 😊

You need to do the rubber band mod to the steering. You wrap a rubberband around the servo saver and around the fork tubes. I use a black rubberband so you can't see it. It acts like a steering stabilizer and bump stop. Gets rid of all the wobble when you land hard too. We do the same thing on our real dirtbikes except you buy a mechanical steering stabiliser for a dirtbike. You can essentially do it with a micro oil-filled shock so it looks real. A rubber band works just fine and is easy to do without modding the bike.

The servo is shaking even if the servo saver not hooked up the servo itself is causing it

I think you may have missed something very important, right at the start. If you are actual speed 64 MPH ( and you seem to be ), your bike is going 4 times that, in scale, like 240 mph. If you look at bikes meant for speed alone, they do not look like dirt bikes. Dirt bikes are cool looking and durable, but not aerodynamic. If you really want 100MPH ( 400 MPH !!!!), you are going to have to look to Bonneville Salt Flats, and the bikes that run there.
a suggestion, not trying to tell you your stuff, but if you fix he wobble, get Guinness in, and get the record, lots more will follow your stuff, and they should !

Can you find a more powerful metal geared servo & do away with the servo saver. You may have found a weak link. Or replace the servo saver springs with silicon tube.
Are you using the zip tie to squeeze & apply pressure so springs rub harder causing more friction which will keep fork from wobbling.

Is there anyway to turn down the gyro?? Cleaning up any slop in the system is definitly going to help but if the gyro has too much gain it'll keep causing issues. Great stuff Earl 👍👍🔥🔥

    • @earlmoorhead5555

The avc not the gyro has no dial for the steering I will need to bind the DX5C To adjust avc throttle and steering gains down the Mx dial adjustment seems to effect lean but not really steering from what I noticed adjusting it

@@earlmoorhead5555 oh ya, avc on this. I guess its confusing as there is a large gyro in this rc but ya I mean the avc needs to get turned down. I get that horizon doesn't want people messing with settings but this stuff really should be tunable.
