We had one just like this. My dad could finally afford an Imperial but he had to settle for this New Yorker. Beautiful car.

I take it he was finally able right after the 1975 model year?

My parents had one exactly like this one! Got it new in August of 1976, when I was 9yrs old. When I started driving, in the spring of 1983, I was scared to drive this car, because it was so BIG! Got over that fear, and learned how to handle this luxury liner. A friend of ours used to refer to our New Yorker as "The Ship", because it was so big. Some great memories. Thanks for posting!

I love this video. Such beauty from this gorgeous Chrysler. They don't make cars like this anymore.

      Sure don't.

There is a HUGE reason they don’t make cars like this that get 8 MPG and are so unsafe when it comes to handling. But I definitely agree that the cars had Class, and Style.

@@gene978A conservative driver could pull 12-14 mpg out of these cars, and these big Chrysler C-bodies really didn't handle all that bad for an almost 5,000# car. The big Fords were the worst

    I had a 1967 New Yorker with the 440 @ 375 hp tnt pkg.
it’s amazing these car only a few years later dropped to 210 hp with the 400 engine.

Of course you are correct, and even my 1976 with the 440 engine is probably rated under 200 HP. But to be fair, some time in the late 60s or early 70s, the industry changed the way horsepower is measured, and that accounts for a bit of the horsepower drop.

I think the 440 has 210 hp, and the 400 was only 190 hp

Handling a land yacht like this is no problem for this man or his family!

I had a 77 New Yorker with the same color as this one. It is almost like l am watching my car on this video. The only two things my 77 did not have was the map light and power antenna. The antenna wiring was the windshield.

Precioso modelo que no conocía!¿Tenéis algún video pero en la versión Guayin del mismo modelo y del Chrysler Royal Mónaco 1976? Gracias también por la exquisita música seleccionada que también desconocía!

Very nice car. It has the desirable, optional leather upholstery. Too bad it doesn't have the optional vent windows. All in all, a nice car!
