    After working for a year now I have finally got one of my own. I now have the best looking car in my high school parking lot!!

    I love the 1976-78 Chrysler Hardtops with the waterfall grilles. They're the end-of-an-era when America built the best cars in the World. Young people don't realize that at one time American cars were desirable, reliable & *COMFORTABLE.*

      @jaymartell2967 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup,just like my 75' Imperial Hardtop with a titanium waterfall grill.Imperial is quieter tho.

      @@jaymartell2967 Yeah, I remember early 1960s Imperials advertising that each car had 100 pounds of soundproofing.

      @@Matt_from_Florida Yes,I was referring to the engine and exhaust sound.My Imperial is so quiet you can hardly here it idling when it's warmed up with stock muffler.So darn smooth.

    Never realized. Just as luxurious as a Cadillac without the gaudines.

    love these big old MOPARS! Anyone with as great a Father as I had would! see I was the oldest of six, in a big close-knit family. The first car Dad had I have good memories of, was his beautiful 1964 Imperial Crown Coupe! He bought new after trading in a 1964 Lincoln, that was beautiful, but I remember being a lemon, that left the family of 5 stranded more than once! The next big MOPAR Dad bought, was a 1968 Chrysler New Yorker Town &Country Beach Wagon that was loaded!

    Chryslers for me always exuded a certain old world luxury compared to other American cars of this era

    @1:12 A Cobra 26!!!! I actually have one of those. This one must have been installed when the car was still brand new. I saw the original Hustler antenna on the back, too....

    I always give Chrysler full credit for the St. Regis roof treatment which makes for a really great 3/4 rear angle, which is not usually a good one. It was an expensive option (450-600 in 1977 depending on what other package you bought), yet it seems like almost every New Yorker had it. I think I've seen one (!) NY with the standard 4 window treatment, and even in the Newport, it feels like half of those had it too. When Chrysler upgraded the New Yorker Brough to basically Imperial standards for 1976 they created one of the better values of the time. And certainly distinctive. My opinion anyway. Perfect color with the road wheels too.

      Interesting. I think the 4 door looks better specifically because this roof and tiny window combo looks so odd.
      And the frameless windows combined with the pillarless sides is great.

    Any trouble with the Lean Burn? Fortunately, the St. Regis option hides the draping shoulder harness and the 4 Dr can’t.

    Exhaust sound doesn’t match the car. A little loud but not nicely toned. Beautiful ride you have

      @@allenmax8995 I had a 77 Diplomat 2 door in 1991 that had those wheels on it. When I changed the tires from white walls to raised white letter Goodrich Radial T/A's it made a big difference in the look of the car.

  • @nomimalone7520

    The 4 door is honestly a little better looking.
    Pillarless, frameless windows, and the vinyl roof going all the way back.
