My wife always said, I wasn't the man she married after I came back from Iraq, but she never left...I wish she could see me now, see how much I've found myself again
I understand exactly what you mean,, think I was around 10 or 11 when it came out and it was a cool melody then,, but it wasn't until Feb 5 2018 that this song hit me like a ton of bricks, was a couple days after my wife of 14yrs up and left me, she was my best friend in the whole world, it's been a lil over 2yrs and I still I struggle each day to cope with the pain!
There’s no music as good as these songs from the 80’s and 90’s I’ve always loved them even as a kid, however now that I’m older they have a totally different meaning. ❤
They are amazing. They are very under-rated. I was 13 when I heard the Nebraska Song and i was a fan for life. I have seen them twice live and it was great.
My father didn't catch my mother "in the act," but she left him after 29 years for one of his close friends, and this song haunts me because it spells out all they were. Dad worked hard to support her and the five of us, and Mom took care of all of us, even in the midst of my serious med issues. They had to do what they did, and they just got lost. They're both happy now, but it was very tough on all of us.
This song hits so hard because I have basically lived it! I didn't cheat but I ended my 14 yr marriage! I was still there! I made his supper his daughter & his son in exactly that order but our marriage had been over 5 years before we split up cause I caught him cheating on me with a women he worked with in my bed! I stayed with him but thankful I did cause we had our son but I've been with the man of my dreams for 9 yrs & I'm so happy with him! I'm very sick though! God Bless everyone who hears this song & plz pray for me!
Heard this song a million times growing up, always liked the song but after a marriage that ended because of infidelity it hits much different than it did. Honestly I had almost forgotten about this song and after being married to a wonderful woman who is as much a friend as a wife I can finally see that all of the pain and heartaches have been worth it for the life I have now.
This song hits me hard ....makes me think of my wife and not about infidelity but about substance abuse ....when your partner has substance abuse issues and you catch them in the act it feels the same as being cheated on .....you feel stupid for believing they would stop then they do it again and watching them destroy the life you built together is heartbreaking....it puts you in a bad spot in your head ....they do it over and over again and say this time is the last time ...you want to give them the benefit of the doubt but eventually you cant take it anymore and you want to leave because they wont stop but your heart wont let you because you love them and would never forgive yourself if they overdosed because you werent there watching out for them and not abandoning them ...its a shitty way to live your life and it hurts everyone who cares about you ...i wish people could see how much they are loved and didnt have to feel so alone in the world .....especially when they have a family and children that need them
@@ashleyboswell7846 it all ened last month...she actually did cheat on me so i guess thats why in the back of my mind i felt like she was because she was she left me for her meth boyfriend and gave up her rights to our kids ...it still hurts today as much as it did last August when i found out about it ....meth is a terrible drug that selling should garner the death penalty because it ruined my life and ive never tried it.
Very sad song. Same thing happened to me, except Im not a veteran. Discovering your wife has been unfaithful is devestating and hurts so profoundly. Its a pain you never fully let go of. The only thing I can think of that could be worse would be losing a child, The more you love someone the deeper it hurts
Loved this song. Listened to it for years while in a 17 year relationship. Caught her cheating. We had a talk close to this. Tried to work it out but she kept seeing the guy. We ended things as friends though. It was a blessing. I found my true love right after that.
just to go back ‘ for one moment ‘ not asking for the day ‘ just a moment in time ‘ i’d run to him and never let go ‘ it haunts my broken heart 20 yrs later ‘
The simple purity of emotions conveyed in this song, stand the test of time... He delivers never changing his vocal pitch, the feelings are driven straight to the heart
This song is when country breaks through for me. This is when it's real and raw. They say that country music reflects the beating heart of rural America. And if that's true then you can't do her better than "All these Years." It's a painful song. It's the worst that can happen to you besides health issues. But somehow the beauty of it transcends the sorrow.
This songs hit home cause it's truth when you realize you live so long and never have done anything of importance. That goes for us all. We can lie to ourselves or others but we are but nothing. We can pretend we are special, wanted, beautiful, smart, or loved but it's all a lie. We just beath in and out, walk around, but just exist. People just say it's depression but no it's reality and the moment we realize it, the moment we truly become something someone out there can see.
I'm related to the drummer Joe Smith, and lived next to him till I was 12 or so. The whole band is incredible. They were the first concert I went to, and I love all of their music. I always had a crush on the singer, Mark Miller. Love them all.
This song brings back so many memories. Since I’ve gotten older, it’s totally relatable now. It really brings the big question in your life “All these years, what have I done?...”
As a former paramedic and firefighter I hope to forget part of what I have seen. 20 years on a ambulance is to much. I am working with the FD to start a honor guard so maybe my legacy will carry on till I am gone.
I always thought that part was kind of humorous. In my head, I pictured them arguing while "this guy" is sitting in bed with a blanket like "guys. . .can I get my clothes and leave?" 🤭 Seriously, this song is deep.
Such an incredible song. I remember hearing this when it first came out. I loved it immediately. This is the song that started my like of certain songs that involve heartbreak. I've always loved this song, and it's yet another that instantly takes me back to my childhood. Of course back then, I had no idea just how truly sad this song is. I love how well done the video is, too. The shots of the long abandoned house with much of the family's possessions still left as they were after the incident went down really add an extra layer of sadness to the song, especially the abandoned bicycle and wagon when the wife says "I made your supper and your daughter and your son."

A great song about the effects of infidelity. It means so much to me because it came out the year my mom and dad divorced. Ironically, it was due to infidelity, and other issues.
It’s a pain that burns deep, and you will never truly get over. It sad how cruel infidelity is. I find myself questioning, why... after all these years. It haunts me.

What a fantastic song. Relationships are work. Constant. If you’re not careful it’ll all slip away and be gone in a single moment.

Cant believe more people dont know about Sawyer Brown. My dad used to play his CD when i was growing up and i have loved them ever since.
Sawyer Brown is the group's name, not the singer's.
