I never grew up listening to nor paying any attention to country music but sometimes it’s all about timing. I found country when the time was right for me. I’m 51 now and got into country in 1993 when I was 21. I was driving a company truck (in Anchorage, Alaska) and didn't bother changing the radio station from whoever drove it last. I was just in the frame of mind to get lost in a song and the right one came on (All These Years by Sawyer Brown) and it stayed in my ears, my mind, and in my heart for days afterward until I had to buy the CD. That’s how it started for me. I love how country songs paint vivid pictures and that each one is its own story. Country tells it like it is and if there’s any emotion that you’re dealing with, this genre will bottle those feelings up and make music that will hopefully help you. Sure, I still listen to many genres but songs like this became my go-to music long ago and never waned.

God, 90s country was so raw and honest that it hurts. I guess that's the point but man, they really nailed it back then. This song is so relatable and so hauntingly beautiful. It wouldn't have been the same without Sawyer's voice on it though. Still listening to this in 2024 and hopefully will still be listening in 2044. Good music like this never gets old. "All these years, what have I done? I made your supper and your daughter and your son" Good stuff

Crazy to think that a 10 year old would cry listening to music. That shouldn’t be a kids reality. Now, at 41 years old, I saw them in concert and ‘The Walk’ just tore me open. Haven’t heard it for years. Still at this age, my parents’ divorce the subsequent split lives we’ve had because of it has taken half the time I would’ve spent with my dad. Who’s a great man. Anyway, Sawyer Brown blew the two headlining bands out of the water, and they basically opened for Parmalee and Walker Hayes. The wife and I left after 3 WH songs. That ain’t country 😂 I would’ve paid the same to see Sawyer by themselves.
