"the lagavulin eight...tastes like... a sixteen... that's half done" HAHAHAHA I burst out laughing. I get it I get it, the context of when this was said is important but still 😅😅😅
It’s very likely that the expression: ‘tons of’, will never leave our vocabulary, Regarding the perception of the taste of scotch whisky, I’m reminded of the comment of a Union officer made after a violent CW battle. He said that his whisky tasted especially good after the tough fighting was over.
@@McIntyresMalts BTW. If you can get them, please review the very affordable 'Old Overholt’ (bonded), a rye whisky, and ‘Teeling', an Irish whisky. Old Overholt is said to have been a favorite of Gen. Ulysses Grant and gunman/gambler Doc Holliday.
I agree. I like the Wee Beastie a lot more than this. And Lagavulin 16 is pretty nice, but the 8 just mediocre for me. I have been told Ileach is a mystery malt (a single malt from a Islay destillery which name is kept hidden and sold for a cheaper price) which should come from Lagavulin. I have the Ileach Cask Strength which should be pretty cheap and I like it alot. Taste and price is really good in my opinion. Islay mystery malts are many like Smokehead High Voltage or Finlaggan Cask Strength, Port Askaig, Mac-Tala Mara or Scarabus. Some TH-camrs dislike the Ileach Cask Strength and put it on the lowest rank of these all, but for me it's the best of these. I only tried Ileach Cask Strength, Mac-Tala Mara, Smokehead High Voltage and Finlaggan Cask Strength yet (and rate them in this order with Ileach as the best). As for a peathead i would recommend these all to try as they are really good in pricing.

Haha gotta call it like I see it 😂
Thanks for checking it out!

I like the way that is worded 🥃
@@McIntyresMalts Thanks to you, Lagavulin 8 will be next on my tasting list!
Salud!
@@johnzajac9849 Really? I actually don't recommend this one, I didn't like it as much as the 16
@@McIntyresMalts The Virginia state store sells it for $99. I will save my nickels for that instead!

I don’t dislike it, but it’s not the equivalent of Wee Beastie, I love that 💩!
I haven't tried the Wee Beastie because this put me off younger Islay whiskies 😔
@@McIntyresMalts maybe it’s my unsophisticated palate, but I was blown away at how good a 5 YO Ardbeg is!
@@revolvermaster4939 no such thing as an unsophisticated palate my friend, we like what we like!
