I am sat here with Laphroaig Lore in my basket and just cannot decide to pull the trigger or not. It is in the higher bracket of purchases for me and the 10 Sherry Oak that I love is cheaper. Fantastic review buddy and certainly in the pro buy it team! Cheers.
Haha thanks mate. I am definitely in the pro Laphroaig team, some I like more than others. I’ve probably had eight or 10 different expressions and I haven’t had a bad one yet. Hope this helps with your purchasing choice!

I agree that the medicinal note is way less prominent than say on the Triple Wood, for example; which at first disappointed me; also the mouthfeel could be more oily, as it is on the, IMHO overpriced, 10y Sherry Oak. Yet, having spent more time with it, I learned to appreciate the design of this whisky; the blend of different ages nicely married together. I find it well done and reasonably priced. I also like the slightly dry finish after adding some water. Fazit: More medicinal notes and a thicker mouthfeel would make this a perfect Laphroaig to my taste. However, as it is, I still like it. Yes my initial thought was that I too wished the medicinal note was a little stronger (as this is what I love about Laphroaig), but that is what is great about it, it is a 'different' Laphroiag that offers a alternative experience on the nose and plate to the 10 and other expressions. I love the 10 Sherry Oak and would have liked to do a comparison video between the Lore and Sherry Oak, but neither last long enough in my bottle! Thanks for watching 😊

To date it's my favourite Laphroaig with qtr cask a close second. I've been told the 10 yr Cask strength is the 'Bees Knees". But can't justify that price... The Lore is now at $200. I paid $140 (yep, on special) 3 years ago, which was the only way I was going to buy it. Loved it .... but won't buy at that price. AL
