I just got the S80TR because it seems to be the best you can get for the price. $600 CAD I felt was a steal, and I am very happy. Show me another Soundbar of this calibar with actual Atmos and rear speakers. The quality drops sharply off a cliff at this price point. If it wasn't on sale, it's just not even possible.
Predicted this wouldntt be that great for a 2 year refresh. Picked up S95QR months ago. Save money, you definitely want that led display and some actually great rear speakers with Atmos effects. WOW Orchestra might have some echo in old HD content but S95QR still the best from LG if u want LG only
WOW Orchestra hasn't worked from day one for me with my LG C4. Cuts out occasionally and then doesnt work and have to do a reset on the TV and soundbar. Wish it would work because I like it. Post on Reddit a few times but no solution.
@@migez1when it disconnects, the wow feature is actually missing. To the point it's not even grayed out. It's actually gone from the options screen. The only way to get it to come back is to turn both off and turn back on. This is my second soundbar out of the box that does it occasionally. I'm also using high quality HDMI 2.1 cables everywhere.
Hey RTINGS, everyone keeps talking about the S95TR and its new upfiring center speaker. The S95QR has the same thing. Aside from LG mentioning it at CES I am unsure why people keep talking about it as a new thing. Any idea?
I... start my sentence really high, and then... finish my sentence *much lower*. It.... doesn't matter what I say, because.... you can't stop *hearing it*.
Thanks for the review RTINGS team! If I'm using this soundbar with the G4, would plugging a PS5 directly into one of the TV's HDMI ports take advantage of 2.1? Glad I was able to snag this soundbar for 30% off last month for my new pad 😁
I have this soundbar, with an LG G4, with wow, it works wonderfully, the subwoofer is placed in the left corner, so that the sound waves bounce off the walls, we deactivate the suround Otherwise it activates all the speakers and it makes an echo of voices in the back, it's written in the instructions
Its power cords are only 4-5 ft long. I will be mounting the book shelf speaker high up, so Have to use extension cords. Anybody knows where to buy original LG speaker/ sound bar wall mount brackets? Could not find anything on LG website.
After upgrading to the lastest LG soundbar for the past few generations, I am SO happy to having swapped to a Samsung Q990D. In saying that the LG soundbar app is miles ahead of Samsungs SmartThings.
I have S95TR and find the subwoofer is very weak. It is connected to LG G4 television. It is terrible to listen to music on because it produces a high pitched shrill sound that is very hard on the ears. It is so bad that I purchased another system for listening to music on. The Subwoofer is weak to the point that you would never tell the system has a subwoofer unless you were told first. No amount of setting changes and re calibrations make any difference. It is paired OK and works just very weak. I am currently in discussion with LG about this. I would not advise purchasing this soundbar based on my experience.

When it comes to soundbars only a few are worth buying and i have yet to hear a good one from LG. Stick to Samsung, and Sony if you can afford the top models. Or if money is not a problem then Nakamichi comes to mind.
Sony massively overpriced for what they are. With their new soundbar lineup, you need the accompanying subs/rears. Despite saying the soundbar alone is sufficient, it really isn’t. Samsung is the best bang for buck. JBL are also pretty decent (Samsung sister brand)
Man it's hard for anyone to dethrone Samsung in soundbars. They've remained on top for many years, and no one seems to come close, other than the super expensive models.
Lg have never really competitively priced and pushed their soundbar division against other manufacturers very well. This soundbar maybe better than its predecessor but there's no reason not to get the Samsung q990c which is considered one of the best on the market and has been going through some aggressive pricing discounts for a while now while lg's s95qr has been sat at is full rrp for pretty much most of its lifespan. That tells me how much lg cares about trying to compete in the soundbar market.
@@agnipictures Did you buy s95qr and how does it sound? I am getting for around INR47000 in India. I have LG C2. Still confused as to go with this or samsung q800d.

Surprised/disappointed that optical has higher latency than HDMI

I have to say, I chuckled a little every time Abby said "woofer" with an actual "ooo" instead of more like "wuufer"

Just go to sound settings on your TV when it disconnects and select Wow Orchestra again, no need to turn off the TV or Soundbar.

Just bought this at a much lower cost. It's awesome
Q990 is the better setup
Whats the difference between this one and S80QR?
Great review as always...I also really liked the Buuut 6:26
Shall I buy sq75TR or sc9s with rear kit ??
"most formats" = 10 - what's "all formats"? 11/10? Sounds like a very legit review.

You can sort of tell Abby is not as excited as she usually is with her TV reviews, LOL.
do yourself a favor and buy a real sourround system. Buy a pair of B&W , Klipsch or Kef with a decent AV receiver and you will never look back
I like the set. And...that's a toaster, right? Interesting.
I bought oled and was thinking to buy this one. Im glad i didnt and went with Bose 900

The better Samsung models are more than good enough for most buyers.

In India the Q990C has always been pricier than the S95QR which is now selling for around $800.
@@kamalaravi Yea. S95QR is cheaper in India. I found the price Rs 55,000. Planning to buy that for LG G4
