Why the Samsung HW-Q700B (2022 )? Is it better than the HW-Q700C (2023) or HW-Q800C ? Where is the HW-Q990C the current competitor of LG S95QR / Bose 900 and Sony HT-A7000 ??? I’m perplexed… 🫤
Sony HT-A7000 is the best sound bar I’ve ever owned, when paired with a Sony oled, SW5 sub, and RS5 surround backs… and I’ve bought over a dozen in the past 10 years. I just sold my Sonos after the Sony setup is clearly better.
It's all up to individual preference and hearing. I owned the A7000 for all of 1 day and returned it. No matter how I adjusted it, it sounded like crap (tinny, no midrange, awful bass). I have a Samsung now and the difference is night and day.
@@Mr21scott you must not have a Sony Bravia oled to help the center channel, and you probably didn’t buy the RS5 surrounds or SW5 sub. IMHO for the system to really be hands above the rest, you need at least the TV.
@@warpathh I had the brand-new (at the time) SW5 and the rears. That sound bar is a piece of crap, if you've ever heard actually good sound. It was so bad, I was convinced it was broken - until I heard Andrew Robinson say the same thing. I owned a previous Sony sound bar and even that was superior.
This is a budget safe list but if you want to spend serious money on a home theater system. The Samsung HW-Q990C blows the #1 LG S95QR out of the water and the rest of this list. The Bose 900 would be close if you get the complete setup (subwoofer and rear speakers). I'm surprise the Bose 900 is #4 on this list below the LG s95QR. My top 3: 3: Bose - Smart Soundbar 900 (complete with subwoofer and rear speakers which are sold separately) 2: Klipsch Cinema 1200 Soundbar 5.1.4 1: Samsung HW-Q990C 11.1.4
I got rid of my 990c was not good enough with the bass or surrond sound, thinking about the lg s95 all bc of the new software update. Where it allows you to control the side speaker to sync.
Yes I agree the Sony sound bars are amazing, HT something or other, but they cost an arm and a leg. I hear that dragon sound bar with the Japanese name is the best out of the best. At that price you may as well invest in amplifiers and real speakers.

Where is the Samsung Q990D? which is a 11.1.4Ch Dolby Atmos soundbar, Where is the SONY BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 13.0??. The ones you listed are the best "budget" soundbars in a sense. Not the Best soundbars of 2024. the only top end one you listed was the LG S95QR. then include a mid range Q700B from Samsung.

I can tell you from my own experience, recently got the Bose smart 900 soundbar and 700 bass module as well as the Samsung 990 which comes with soundbar, bass module and 2 rear speakers. I was going to save money and keep the Samsung if it wasn’t far off. To cut to the chase, I returned the Samsung. Kept the Bose. It costs a lot more, but it absolutely performed for the space I need it for, which is a large 2-story room I’m using as my home theater. I haven’t even bought the Bose rear speakers yet (I will) but the superiority was evident even without them. Maybe Samsung performs in smaller spaces but don’t make claims like you’re doing because having tried both, really your claim is ridiculous to me. I love a great deal but I’d rather a great product if I can afford it and frankly, the difference in sound quality and 'immersiveness' was pretty striking.
Recently finished basement, calling the main room a great room, bar, pool table, dart board aisle, TV area, and more; it’s 18’ X 35’ total. We did dryfall paint floor joist in this room vs all the other rooms being Rockwool Safe & Sound on the ceiling and interior walls w/ drywall. Put a 83” Bravia A80L on the TV sections wall. Next up is a sound bar; want a nice theater sound while watching movies but also want a nice music add for the whole 18’ X 35’ space. What sound bar & sub should we purchase?
Sound is personally subjective. Bose brand will provide best overall value. Room density, configuration etc, will dictate what is preferred. Test your options in a environment that resembles your room.

Sennheiser and Sonos whole purpose is about sound, but Sennheiser is a step above Sonos. Don’t get me wrong Sonos is still good, but Sennheiser does it better. I have both and I know. Been using Sennheiser products since the 90’s.

I have Bose Smart Soundbar 900 and Bose Bass Module 700. No other brands will come closer matching the performance of Bose products. It's amazing and unmatched performance too.
The Problem with all these Soundbars is that they are not budget friendly if you start adding additional equipment. And do not dare to drive them hard because there will be a lot of distortion. Example is the Bose 900 cannot keep up with lower tier Sub and amAVR. These are great for little rooms or Condos . Or people that want simplicity. Enough said
Based on reviews, which I am sure is accurate, I ordered the Q990C. I regret doing so. Not because of the product. I can't comment on the product. Because Samsung has not delivered. And are now playing games on delivery. On three occasions they have told me to wait home for it. I have been told it can't be left with the building security guard. Each time it does not come. Each time I reach out they say they are looking into it and to wait another 48 hours. They won't cancel and refund unless i provide information that is not available without a trip to the bank. What is it like when there is a problem with one of their products? If you can't buy it off a shelf somewhere you may regret your purchase as I am. The purchasing and support experience is part of a system as well.

If you have the 3.55mm audio jack connected it won't let you select bluetooth. I use it for the TV in my bedroom but I can't flick over to Spotify without unplugging the audio jack first. Major fail.

As soon as this came up , i had too. I have a Samsung tv after buying a few others last year which were crap. The Samsung doesn't need. I have a Bose bar and it sounds terrible with excessive DOOF DOOF. I tried LG and they sounded like someone talking holding their nose.

I love Bose sound, in particular no one can beat their bluetooth speakers especially at the price.
