- It's estimated that about one million people are treated for kidney stones each year. Ones that are small enough will pass through the urinary tract without being noticed. But patients may experience extreme pain when a larger stone tries to move through the ureter, bladder, or urethra.
"You feel like somebody is stabbing you in the back, you feel nauseated, it's incredible. The pain is normally when the stone is moving around you have pain. When the stone is in the kidney itself and not blocking the system normally you don't have too much pain," says Dr. Meir Daller, urologist on Lee Memorial Health System's medical staff.
Treatment to remove of a kidney stone can range from surgery to the use of shock waves. But many people are opting out of those methods, looking for a non-invasive way to clear their system.
"Absolutely, I mean in the last 10 years or so, we moved to more and more medical therapy of kidney stones," says Daller.
The use of drugs is helping many people treat their condition. Once a person develops more than one kidney stone, they are more likely to develop additional stones throughout their life. So a non-invasive approach may be a better way to manage frequent occurrences.
"We use a drug, its called alpha-blocker. Alpha-blocker is normally used for men with a large prostate, but for men and women it will open up the ureter. The ureter is the tube that drains the kidney to the bladder and as a result of that, it will aid in the passage of the stone," says Daller.
The size, shape and location of the stone will determine the most appropriate treatment. For a small stone that recently began its decent to the bladder, medical management may the best route.
"We give medication to dissolve the stones, we increase fluid intake, and we give painkillers. Most stones will pass without any medical intervention," says Daller.

My first kidney stone only took me 2 hours to pass. I just got a second one a few days ago. I have a high pain tolerance but nothing compared to the pain I just experienced. 7 hours of complete agony. I almost passed out a couple of times during it. I gotta do something proactive about it. Gonna see the doctor this week.

November 17th 2021I woke up at 3 am with a terrible pain in left side.. I thought I needed to have a bowel movement but was constipated. Walked and walked trying to make it happen. Did not want to go to ER and pay co pay to be told I am constipated. Took some pain relievers but they only helped a little. Later that night My Husband called for a ambulance and they took me to the hospital. Turns out I had sepsis very bad and had a 6mm kidney stone lodged in my ureter. Was taken by ambulance to another hospital and they put a tube in my kidney to drain the urine that could not drain from the kidney. Was in the hospital a week to get the infection out of my blood. It is now January 4th and I finally am going to have the stone removed in 2 days. Still have tube in my back draining the Urine. Today is Day 46 of the drain. I say if You do get a very bad pain in either side go get it checked out. I already had Sepsis which could have infected all of my organs and Brain. I am very lucky.

I am going through this right now , I went to Emergency room on Friday ( 01/07 / 21) . The pain in the bottom left side of my abdomen and left side of my back is extremely painful , painkillers work for the moment but it's still there.

I’ve had them 3 times in my life the best thing to do is drink lots of lemon juice because that helps dissolve the stone drink lots of water also to keep yourself hydrated that will make it less painful as the stone is trying to pass.

There is a hundred different things that can happen to people beyond kidney stones so do not worry about them if you do not have them.
I would suggest going down the route of preventive medicine and have a look at Dr Mark Hyman youtube channel and getting good exercise.

Actually you are wrong. Kidney stones are formed due to acidic diet, so scid is not going to be helpful. Alkaline water is prescribed by the doctors to prevent the formation of stones.

Unfortunately, just like you said, hospitals are insanely corrupt and assume every patient only wants drugs, does they refuse to treat kidney, pancreas, and gallbladder issues. I’m taking Chancra Piedra and Celery Seed in hope of them helping.
Make a mix of this that you can taste tolerate: apple cider vinegar + lemon juice + citric acid + water. If you are not allergic to aloe Vera juice without sugar, use that instead of water. Keep taking until your symptoms leave

Jarrow Bile Acid is definitely the most important supplement I've been taking, two after each meal, since it dissolves gallstones. I've been also taking Artichoke Extract (helps eliminate bile sludge) and Chancra Piedra. Sadly I have no clue if my condition will improve, I've also been taking Grapefruit Seed Extract in case of an infection. Basically my gallbladder is nonfuctioning lol
