I am looking to get a start in coaching. I would like to get to the college level at some point. However, my concern is salary of an initial coaching job. I have a college degree in an exercise science related field and also played college football. What would be the best step to getting a foot in the door for coaching and also make a decent living salary?
Email every coach from every school that you would like to coach at. Jr College is the easiest place to start. I just got my first job as QB coach at a Jr college in CA
Depends the state. U need a certification for sure, in some states that certification requires college credits in certain classes. And if you're planning on teaching at the school too you need to be certified to teach a subject or two. I was lucky enough to get offered a job at my alma mater and am only coaching there so I don't need teaching certifications as of now
