When I cottoned on to your idea I thought you need a variable speed angle grinder and a soft wire wheel, then you come out with the restorer! Brilliant. 👍

11:00 that is a very good tool Sharon, I like the shape, the way the hose for a vacuum can hook up to the end. I have COPD from too much saw dust in my lunges. Never seen one like that guy.
Sharon I plan to live to be 105 and I am 87 this year so it takes a while of doing something wrong but it catches up with year in the end. That tool does NOT have a place to hook up a hose, maybe just wishful thinking.
The wire wheel you used Sharon get a thin one that fits on an angle grinder to get into the deeper crevices, save a lot of digging with different tools.
You already have put a tremendous amount of effort into this, but I can tell it's going to be worth it in the end! I don't know very many people who would have the patience to do this!
Love the idea of building around your focal point... Beautiful piece of wood. A couple 2-3" thick rounds from the butt end would make nice plant stands or side tables for the living room.
I'd much rather build around a different focal point.. Can you imagine if there was a mini excavator in the living room!! Boom!! Now that is unique!! lol
Great question! I probably could have but I was trying not to get it that wet. It will only have about 5 months to completely dry out before we need to move it in. The other trees I dont use right away I do that to. Makes a mess but sure saves time!
Mrs K....any chance you could strip off my ole bark, do some deep sanding and turn ME into something special? lol/smh The Boracare is some good stuff. Stops the bark wood borers in their tracks and doesn't change or color the wood. Its made with Borax which is a natural ingredient.
Lot's of work and looking great. Can't hardly wait to see the finished product...
😁 me too!

😀 i do still want to get those 😉
We learned a trick from another video- to use a power washer to get off the outside bark. It works AMAZING!! and it saves so much time
Can’t wait to see the finished product Mrs K!
😊
You have a lot of patience for that preparation work looking good 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks Mike! We'll see if my patience can hold out till late summer 😃

Awe thanks James! Not everybody would appreciate my vision but I like sharing it for people like you that do 😉
A LIGHT POLE!! With the light hanging from the big old bent branch off to the side!
That is one mammoth task you have given yourself Mrs K 🤔 but am sure it will be well worth the it when it's done 💪👍
Absolutely! Hope so anyways :)
Check back in on me in a couple months. I might need a welfare check! 🤪

It is really nice to use on barnwood. So sorry to hear about the lung issue. I really need to get better at wearing a mask.

A lot of work! Great progress so far! The Restorer sander does a nice job of getting into all the nooks and crannies.
This will be a very sweet center piece for sure, thank you
Love your Videos Mrs. Kapper, and reviews on tools you buy!
Thanks Brett! I saw it on another video and new I had to have it! Works better on flat surfaces but just had to try it out. 🙂
Sharon..take a look at sand blasting equipment..maybe sign makers level of equipment.

I actually have one that I didn't even think of using until the end of the day 🥴 guess I was too focused on digging in !

What a transformation already 😮💪🏼👏
This is going to be a great center piece.. That is if we can get it in there! lol
You already have put a tremendous amount of effort into this, but I can tell it's going to be worth it in the end! I don't know very many people who would have the patience to do this!
I've learned not to question her vision! However, now we'll have TWO super big and super heavy cedars to haul into the cabin!!
Thanks! We'll see if my patience holds out 😄

Thanks!
When I get some other logs sawn at our neighbors mill I was thinking of doing that 🙂

Can you lightly powerwash the tree to remove the bark?
I'm not sure but I don't think so, otherwise I'm guessing she would be doing it. Thanks

Never fear your ant log , it’s bark’s worse than it’s bite 😉🍻
Them ant's actually have some bite to their bark! Just let them crawl on you for a minute and you'll feel the bite! lol
@@kapperoutdoors Where anty- venom is a bad thing 🤔🍻
😄 maybe I should call her Aunt Bertha?
@@CedarBluffRustics 😂👏 that’s what they call the log’s maternity ward 🍻
Hairy, scary vines are most likely poison ivy.
We have lots of them, poison sumac and poison oak. Yuk!
Lots of hard work, looks like its coming along nicely. How much does something like this cost as a finished product?
Can't say for sure yet. Hopefully at some point we can try to sell a few.
🙂👍👏

Clark! I'm not a miracle worker! 😉 As soon as I get that boracare its game on with those little 4 legged beasts!
