My father is 72 & a chronic cardiac patient from last 25 years. He always fast walk at morning continuously 6-7 km per day. He also walk just after dinner almost 30 mins. He is taking Aspirin medicine & homeopathic medicine ADEL 43 for healthy heart. Still He feels very fine. He says that he doesn't need any kind of operations. The doc is only talking from cardio vascular health perspective. Anyways since ancient time it is said that " One should not do any intense work because all the blood is circulated towards stomach for digestion which is intense process for the body". IMO , walking after 45mins with a low intensity totally works for me. One should not walk fast just stroll slowly because the goal is to aid digestion. If your goal is heart health then only walk fast preferably 2-3 hrs after a meal. There is nothing right or wrong, it just depends on perspective..

Misleading heading. Every Individual is different from other Individual so one should follow the rules / instructions according to his /her own comfort level. Do not eat heavy and oily meals in the dinner. Eat foods which are easily digestible and avoid late night eating meals. One can walk slowly after dinner for half an hour but not immediately after the meals. One can take warm milk before sleeping if one feels good and this will help in clearing of bowls in the morning to the patients who have constipation problems.
