    You shouldn't go beyond:
    2.5" leveling kit. (2" is the best option)
    285/x/x tires
    Without doing additional modifications.

    It doesn't surprise me you need wheel spacers. I think that's the one thing people overlook when they install these leveling kits. Everyone is concerned about tire height, not taking into consideration that taller tires usually bring additional width with them. I bet that upper control arm clearance is almost non existent. Truck looks great, though. Probably don't need terribly large spacers to eliminate the rub. My 2020 F150 came with P275/55 R20's, though I plan on swapping them for LT285/60 R20s after it's leveled. Good thing you realized the rub issue early on. Once the spacer issue is resolved, I'm sure that truck is gonna some fun riding.

    Those look great! Surprised wider than 275 fit, but those are factory wheels. I have 20in wheels and want to drop to 18, but I may have to stay at 275 since most aftermarket wheels are going to push out 1" due to most being 18mm to 25mm offsets when I'm 44mm now. Thanks for the video. LOL just watch the last little bit, and saw that they rubbed. So maybe that extra bit of offset in most aftermarket rims would help.

    I'm putting 295/70/18's on my 2018 with Bilstien 5100 leveling struts on top notch. Going to be running 18x9 wheels with 0 offset/5 backspacing. From what I've found, it should work with minor plastic trimming. Going from stock +44 offset to 0 pushes the wheel out 1.68". Should clear everything in the back fine but the poke creates wider turn radius so it'll probably rub the plastic in fender well. We'll see soon!

    • @tylermckittrick9708
      @tylermckittrick9708 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is exactly what I'm doing! Would you say the upper control arm clearance, between the arm and tire is about 2"? I'm wanting this set up but also wanting to run chains. The 44 offset with 275x65 was not enough clearance. Going to 295x70r18 but can't decide between 0 offset and negative 19. Want plenty of room for chains but like you said don't want to have alot more trimming do to larger swing radius.

    That’s a great looking truck! I have the same year/trim/color and also thinking of installing a level kit. My question is, will a 2.5 in level kit help to avoid the rubbing? And what’s you MPG? Thanks in advance.

    • @WICKEDAUTO1
      @WICKEDAUTO1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, actually that would probably make it worse as it would push the uca out just a little more at that angle. After the video I looked into it more and I have about 1/4in. between the tire and uca, it's just bumps at a turn I believe it rubs. I have 1/2spacers coming Monday so I can drive it again. I just wouldnt get such a wide tire, mine is 11.6. Anything under that and there wouldnt be any issues at all. As for the mpg I havent driven it but a couple miles getting it aligned due to the rubbing n not wanting to mess with anything but before the tires it didnt really change much at all. I maybe lost 1-1.5mpg if that with the level n air dam removal.

    • @WICKEDAUTO1
      @WICKEDAUTO1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If money isnt that big of a deal if I were you I would just go with a 3 or 4inch lift instead of a level. The full kit comes with new uca and then prolly wouldnt be an issue at all.

    • @WICKEDAUTO1
      @WICKEDAUTO1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      O they will fit, mine fit it's just 1/4in from uca and rubs on bumps with turning. When discount was done with mine he said good to go no rubbing....yea ok. But the place was great n their life time stuff with the tires are a deal. Look into 285/75. U get .5 more on the height, .4 less on the width n only .3 on the diameter so u still shouldnt be rubbing at all but gives you more of a gap for the uca.
