- A few years ago I had the chance to record an album called Higher. It features some of my favorite hymns. Ever since I've wanted to do a type of Higher 2.0 album with full orchestrations and choirs. Here's a little demo I put together for Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.

A little about Nathan:
Nathan Pacheco is a classically trained tenor who has a passion for reaching out and uplifting people through music. He is one of the great tenor voices of his generation and has been featured globally in live performances, including touring the United States, Canada, and Mexico with Yanni; performing with Latin singing sensation Olga Tañon; touring England, Scotland, and Wales with Katherine Jenkins and the National Symphony Orchestra; and performing with orchestras and symphonies around the US.
Nathan has been featured on multiple Yanni recordings, including on the album Inspirato, where Nathan was featured alongside Plácido Domingo, Renée Fleming, and other opera stars. Over the years, Nathan has released multiple albums with Shadow Mountain Records that have been ranked #1 on Billboard for best classical and classical/crossover album. In the spring of 2023, Nathan released Abide With Me, a collection of some of his favorite hymns, featuring everything from a Coldplay cover to traditional hymns like "Be Still My Soul."

We aren't prone to wander as much when times are rough; it's when times are good and we believe ourselves self-sufficient that we stray. This hymn needs listening to in the best of times, to remind us to stay on the covenant path. Thank you for sharing. And anything you want to sing, we want to hear.

I agree, we are prone to wander at many times in our life.
This has become something of a debate. Let me say, in my experience, we stray from the path in the good times, when we feel safe to experiment, and it isn't until the hard times hit that we discover how far we have strayed.

It's been a long week, battling sinuses, work drama, and being bombarded by the worst the world has to offer via the news. Scrolling thru my feed this popped up, and I thought this is good for me, a song to God. From the first notes Nathan sang tears welled up. Such a beautiful gift so wonderfully shared! Thank you! I was seeking beauty and here it is, in this song, your arrangement, your passion, and your gifted voice! Excellent musician and songwriter. His vocals are so warming to the soul. Bands today don’t play like The Silver Bullet Band. Vocals today are hidden by noise. This guy was just as good live as on a record. I cried at his last tour concert.

The Higher album came at the perfect time for me in my life back in 2017. Listening to it daily helped bring me closer to God, gave me peace, and the strength I needed to meet life's challenges. I would love a higher 2.0 album. In fact, the original version is my favorite rendition of come thou fount, and I like this remake even more. During the solo, I personally imagine the savior's life chronologically, culminating with his preaching to those in the spirit world, then his resurrection and finally, his visit to the americas. This is such a beautiful solo. I'd love to have another album with the updated orchestral pieces.

I'd like to hear more. It reminds me of the songs of my younger days, when we all wore suitcoats and ties 😊, we read from hymn books, the organist played, and the songbook numbers were listed weekly on a wooden plaque on the wall. There was no video screen with lyrics, and the congregation really sang the words with gusto. I'm not saying modern ways are bad. I just have fond memories of olden days.

What a very nice gesture Sir, those flash cards with that background musical instrumentality are interesting, and effective, for sure. Thanks Nathan. I hope this doesn't seem odd, nevertheless, there's hardly much of anything to leave playing anymore, even those stations of various religious orders, unless one is attentive so it might be turned off before entering one's head. We have a very subtle devious enemy who constantly roams this earth seeking whom he may devour.
So, all that said to say, your "Higher" album stays on my computer. It gets played everyday, yep, everyday. I am unsure how it might be improved upon, nonetheless I certainly invite any efforts you share Brother. And, yes, I share at every opportunity.
