I am cutting some plastic from the dollar store for a project - it was a reflective "turkey platter" and looked maybe a touch thicker than what you've got for the craft plastic. I ran a test cut through the art/illustration board setting and it worked like a charm on the first attempt. Thank you for sharing this tip! And if you need reflective silvery flexible plastic for a project to look like silver plate, the dollar store has got you!
LOVE your videos! You do such a great job explaining things and showing us how to do things, even when they dont work! Great videos for beginner crafters like myself!!
Thank you for the video! Based on the need to move star wheels for leather I would have erroneously thought to do tbjs with plastic as well. I appreciate all these tips! I am saving this video to remind me for when I try plastic sheets for sure!
Thanks for testing this and giving your tips and tricks. I think I might make a custom cut setting with a couple extra cuts. After testing first. Thanks Angie
@@lynnconroy8 don’t remember off hand. Maybe knife blade and plastic? You can always stop it if it cut through instead of making all the passes. T-shirt rulers used a fine point blade to make the marks.
I watched this video after making a cake Topper. The only thing I could have done differently from your video is tape the plastic to the mat and use the setting you suggested. My Topper came out really cute. I layered it with cardstock, having the plastic sheet as the 3rd layer.
hi angie , fyi I couldnt find plastic sheets when i was looking for them , but I found something else . the plastic folders that the dollar shops sell for putting reports in work really well . they are wider (after you open them up and undue the pocket carefully ) and they come in different colors . At a $ or less a folder . I made my daughter the cricut design chinese hanging , which was suppose to be made of cardstock . Made 2 of them and she loved them . sincerely deb in VT
I have used cheap plastic folders sold in multi pacs and cut on my maker. Its thin but not sure how it compares to the craft plastic. I am wondering if the craft plastic is a little thicker?
This would be for completely different projects more than likely.. Ones where you want something to stand off of the surface like shown here. Or ones where you are making something like a cake topper and you need it to stand on its own.
Hello! Thank you for your share! What is the size thickness of the these crafter sheets?. And do they come in thicker sizes?. Also what cricut, material, do u set the cricut machine to?
There is no material selection in the Cricut sofware for plastic sheet. If you are going to make a review and try and tell us how to use this, please please please tell us the settings.
I ran into your video, and I was looking on how to do this, however, you never show hot to program this in the Cricut App/software despite the fact that you recommended to use the pc; so, you didnt really show what I was looking for. How to select the material, how to select the tools....
I have MANY videos on selecting those in Design Space. Sometimes I run through the entire thing and other times I skip that. Once you hit make it, the machine will prompt you to pick a material then the software tells you what tool. There isn't really anything to show.

Yay!
I’ve used plastic poster board from Michael’s as well to make stencils.
Oooo show us a video making a cake topper with the plastic! That would be fascinating lol No pressure though. Love your videos!!

OH definitely!
Pretty cool. Dollar tree cutting mats work too! They make color ones now too! I think these look much thinner than those. Be interesting to try.
What are the settings you use for those? How many passes?
@@lynnconroy8 don’t remember off hand. Maybe knife blade and plastic? You can always stop it if it cut through instead of making all the passes. T-shirt rulers used a fine point blade to make the marks.
Yes these are thicker than those!
You always do such a great job. Love having you as a crafting mentor!!

This plastic really is great!
Great video, would you recommend moving your cut to the bottom of the sheet for easier checking to make sure it’s cut through the material?
That’s a good idea!
I just stop the machine when the mat is mostly out. But you could!
Very nice! Thanks for sharing the plastic and process to cut it!
You are so welcome!
You are such a good teacher! Thank you!

Wonderful!
Finalllyyyyyy
Thank you so much for sharing. Very interesting and can't wait to try it out. Thank you for all you do!
Should I calibrate my knife blade first?
You can.
Thanks for introducing us to this product. If you illuminated these from behind would the light come through at all?
I don't think so.
I have used cheap plastic folders sold in multi pacs and cut on my maker. Its thin but not sure how it compares to the craft plastic. I am wondering if the craft plastic is a little thicker?
Craft plastic is thicker than that.
This plastic would make a good pin wheel. Do you have a video on making a pinwheel?
I don't with this one but I have done it with a different type of plastic!
17 PASSES?! MOAR POWAHHHH
Can this plastic be scored as well as cut? I want to see if I can use it to make deck boxes for Pokémon cards.
I have NOT tried scoring!
I love this video...can you use this for making bookmarks?
Definitely! It would make a great bookmark!
Ooh... I ❤ the bookmark idea!!
Great video as usual Angie, but can you tell me whey you would choose this over vinyl?
This would be for completely different projects more than likely.. Ones where you want something to stand off of the surface like shown here. Or ones where you are making something like a cake topper and you need it to stand on its own.
Neat stuff cool idea, thank u
Hey Angie Thank u so much for subbing your awesome!!
No problem 😊
Which material setting did you use please?
Artboard setting.
Do you have any idea what plastic material would be used to cut out a sublimation wind spinner blank?
You can't sublimate on this material. I would just purchase the metal wind spinner blanks.
What paint did you use to paint your board white?
I am not sure but a good chalk or multi surface paint always works well.
Hello! Thank you for your share! What is the size thickness of the these crafter sheets?. And do they come in thicker sizes?. Also what cricut, material, do u set the cricut machine to?
They only come in one thickness. I use the art board setting.
sound great
You can not use this product with the Cricut Explore Air 2 with the deep cut blade?
No you cannot.
Hi 👋 how do you get your blade to calibrate? It just keeps telling me blade not detected!
You need the right blade in there for calibration. The only ones you can calibrate are the knife and rotary blade.
What setting domit required to cut plastic mirror sheet on cricut explore
It would have to be very thin to cut on an Explore. Generally I cut materials like that with a Maker but they still cannot be very thick.
I have cut shrink plastic and plastic folders on my explore using the deep cut blade. Is this material thicker than those?
It is thicker than plastic folders. It wouldn't be thicker than the shrink plastic AFTER you shrink it.
Can you use a Silhouette Cameo 4 with Knife Blade?
I am not sure as I don't have one!
No but I’m sure that the silhouette has their own version. The Maker actually reads the type of blade that’s in the machine.
What angle blade you use for cutting this plastic. I have 45 angle blade it's good to cut Craft plastic ?
I used the knife blade and my Cricut Maker. The fine and deep point blades will NOT work.
Can this be used for pin wheels.
Oh interesting! I think it can!
Have you tried these sheets to make stencils - or is there a better product for Plastic Stencils
I would use mylar stencil film for that.
Can air explore 2 do this?
No just Maker and Maker 3.
Will it work with a cricut joy 😊
No it will not!
Whew 😅 my husband is going to be upset. I’m about to decorate my grandkids rooms with this.
You can do it!
i like this video😊
Thanks!

I would watch the entire video to get the information. Try 2:07 for the material setting I used.
Anyone have a “tried and true” setting to cut through the Dollar Tree chopping mats using the knife blade?
is there a away to cut it with our Joy machines
No there is not.
This comment isn’t in regards to this video. I would love to know if you have any tips or tricks for sublimating on a ribbed material?
I do not! I need to try that!
Do they make them 12” x 24”?
Not that I know of!
I ran into your video, and I was looking on how to do this, however, you never show hot to program this in the Cricut App/software despite the fact that you recommended to use the pc; so, you didnt really show what I was looking for. How to select the material, how to select the tools....

You refer to it as Cricut plastic like it’s Cricut brand. But the link takes me to Johnson Plastics’ craft plastic.
Cricut does not make a plastic. This is plastic that can be cut in a Cricut.
👏👏👏👏👏
Can you only use these plastic sheets on the maker and maker 3.
Yes the only big difference with the Maker and Maker 3 is really the Bluetooth capabilities. I use the smart vinyl in the Maker all the time.
Yes that is correct.
