MK4S Kit $799
MK4S Complete $1099
MK4 to MK4S Upgrade kits from $99
The Original Prusa MK4S is the latest evolution in the award-winning 3D printer series. Building on last year’s model, the MK4S introduces a completely revamped cooling system, allowing for much faster printing speeds while maintaining the same top-tier quality and dimensional accuracy that made the MK2, MK3, and now the MK4 so popular among professionals and enthusiasts.
The MK4S also excels at printing extremely steep overhangs with minimal supports, where other printers would struggle. This feature not only saves time but also conserves material, making it a standout choice for precision 3D printing. 🔧✨
The differences between the MK4 and MK4S are quite substantial:
🚀 NEW high-performance 360° cooling with a completely redesigned system compared to the MK4.
🚀 NEW high-flow nozzle, custom-made in collaboration with Bondtech, for faster and more efficient printing.
📱 Native mobile app and Wi-Fi setup with a tap, making connectivity and control easier than ever.
💪 Many parts are now 3D printed from PC Blend Carbon Fiber, and the LCD cover is now injection-molded for enhanced durability.
🔌 GPIO board - a versatile new accessory designed for makers.
⚙️ Accelerometer support for those who enjoy modding their printers.
These upgrades make the MK4S a significant advancement over the MK4, offering new capabilities and improved performance. 🎨🛠️

Hey Sam! I'd love for you to chime in on the likely impact of Stratasys going after Bambu for patent infringement relating to FDM, heated beds, and other features that almost all FDM printers use/have (if they win). I'd think that Creality would be a bigger target for them with Prusa close behind. Any thoughts?
@@jim-i-am Hey dude I think I made that very comment somewhere in reply already, but sure! Remember I have no skin in that game but the conflict around IP is interesting. Stratasys I expect will be looking for a pay day, but you might find that they battle it out. Also some of the stuff they locked in Prusa was doing years before, this isn't a new game. 3D Systems sued formlabs in 2012. Markforged to pay 12M to Continuous Composites 2024 WOBBLEWORKS vs 3D SYNERGY TECHNOLOGIES.. most of these are power plays at profit in companies... The reason its interesting is because Bambu are a bigger player with profits.. Watch and see if they settle or battle it out.
I love my MK4 and looking forward to upgrading it to MK4S!
Sounds good !! Let me know how you get on, I’d like to upgrade my mk4 now too to be fair !
Time to upgrade again to Core ONE!
Great review Sam. I have always had a soft spot for Prusa printers and their work ethic that many other companies in the industry could seriously learn from.
Thank you
Hot dang! That fan is huge but those overhangs are crazy impressive. Will be looking at upgrading my MK4 🤘
Yeah, stick to the printers that don’t have glass is my point
I agree on the fan. I was like GOOO! when I first saw it. But the fat that we get 360 degree cooling for overhangs is great.
I can’t wait. Upgrade for 99 USD!! Great price🎉
Even though I’m a Creality fan I do know that Prusa is top-of-the-line and hard to beat
Prusa's printer works great, the update has taken it a step further and is great
Thanks for the review on the MK4. I’m definitely going to upgrade
The personal kiss on your machine by Jo Prusa is worth the price alone. 😂
I know right, some people just want pictures of other peoples feet..
with Prusa printer it was love at first sight, I don't support Chinese
I'm not a big fan of China either, but they really push the competition forward, and as a result, we, the consumers, receive the benefits.
This is great! ❤I will upgrade as soon as possible!
I thought my MK4 couldn't be better, but I will definitely try the upgrade. I'm looking forward to it!
Glad you like it!
cool upgrade! I want it!
Love Prusa! Building two Mk4 printers!
Ok yeah yeah, improvements etc. great work. Now let's see more of the pup 😍
You know, weirdly, she doesn’t get on camera nearly enough!
Just got me a MK4S kit with a MMU on the 15th of august! Can't wait for it to arrive. I also didn't know about the free roll of filament.
Awesome upgrade thanks for sharing bro
Love you Phil
Totally outstanding, Sam
very good printer upgrade
Upgrading at a low price is great glad my first was prusa.
Of course I want one pre-built Prusa with a kiss from Josef himself... but with the trips and other things ahead... I need to wait on that one!
Great video Sam! Kiss to you though
I have 3 Bambu Lab printers (X1c, A1 and A1 mini) All with ams but I know how great Prusa printers are.
I'm wondering if the MK4S cooling fan can be modded to attach to an MK3.5.
I'm fairly sure someone will figure it out.
They do a full upgrade kit tho right
I literally bought a MK4 on August 1st kinda disappointing that this came out literally right after and now I have to purchase it..
and that's why it's great that you can just upgrade it for $99 ;)
Ask them for free upgrade, big chance of geting one. I order week before new mk4s was out and Prusa send a voucher code to get upgrade for free.
Great review as always Mr Prentice. But not sure if you got the new memo from Mr Prusa.
He said that the MK4S that was delivered to you should have come to me. As they put the wrong address on it.
I’ll be in touch so you can send it to me ASAP!
Got it! What an awkward mistake, I’ll wait their email to confirm your address in that case !
Is that Haribo pack included
It is !!
7:10 Hmm interesting...does it have automatic good boy detection?
Great video Sam, I'm guessing that you like the Prusa MK4S then. 🙂 Any chance there'll be a give away whilst you're at Prusa. 🙂
Oh I don’t know about that. Like in say id like to keep impartial but remember I’ve been to Creailty, Bambu, Anycubic, E3D, ELEGOO and so on, visiting Prusa is the same. I’ll gain knowledge and get a better sense of their direction.
@@TheRealSamPrentice Looking forward to the follow up stream.
Now they just need to add some of these features to the mini.
Thought I just read something on that
Noise? I keep asking this wherever I go. The MK4 is not particularly noisy, but the fan can be obnoxious. Is there any meaningful step with the mk4s, please? Or can I simulate it with confidence by tuning the fan to 70%?
The fan doesn’t seem loud I mean having just run the t1 which is a jet engine.. this is pretty quiet, the movement is louder
Hi, I have a Creality ender3 s1 pro printer, I don't have any problems with small prints, but when I want to print large prints, it says communication with the MCU is lost at different times and the printing process stops, when I want to continue from where it left off, it starts from the wrong position. Why does this machine give an error with large prints, I searched the internet and couldn't find much information that would be useful for me. I talked to a service and they told me that this could be due to overheating of the sonic pad, stepper or motherboard. I don't know what to do. Do you think cooling the steppers could be a solution, if you have published a video about this, I couldn't find it unfortunately. I would be very happy if you could give me advice. Unfortunately, I don't have enough technical knowledge on these issues. 😞
So if you are running Creailty OS /
klipper via a sonic pad I’d suggest you look at the error logs via the web ui you should at that point see what it’s erroring on. On your small prints are they positioning in the middle or to one side ?
To be honest it sounds like it’s not positioning correctly.
@@TheRealSamPrentice Thanks for your answer, my friend. I had made the offset settings, the printer works right in the middle. I will try to make thin and high prints in the corners of the printer and see if there is a problem with them. I did not understand much from the error logs, but if I find someone who does, I will show you. I did not try cooling the motors either, if there is no information in the error logs that will solve my problem, I will try cooling the motors.
I am not sure what you mean by wanting the App as feature for the XL? I have just started a print on my XL using the app and am monitoring it? The app is just an interface to Prusa Connect.
Sure well currently on the version that I’m using the XL doesn’t appear to work the mark 4’s do though. The app I’m using is via TestFlight and is a beta version so I don’t know if that’s different but that’s what I’m commenting on. As always happy to be wrong ;)
@@TheRealSamPrentice Perhaps the Android and iPhone versions are slightly different too...
@ulaB what are you using ?
@@TheRealSamPrentice Android, App Version 1.0.2+91. That said, I can see XL jobs, pause and stop them, but I can't see the print queue it seems.
@ulaB so this is Version: 1.0.2 (92) for iPhone but no xl options only mk4.. I’ll ask them about it.
Perhaps it's time to sell my MK2 and get the new model.
I don’t get it. The price for a bed slinger being so high. I bought my over priced mini when it was first released. Despite the problems it had at release it was a cool printer. After replacing the hot end and extruder it was great. Open source is cool as well. I remember after I replaced everything on my Anet A8 it was an amazing machine as well. I think the only reason to spend the money on a Prusa these days is to say with a pinky lifted in the air that you have a Prusa.
Funny how far I had to go to find my own comment. I can understand paying the premium to some degree if you're a business and want the support, but they really don't make sense for hobbyists and are terrible value for money. The XL and upcoming Core One are the only products anyone should be interested in in 2025, the former is cartoonishly expensive and the other is still small and doesn't seem to do anything any other modern core-xy machine does.
And yeah, Prusa is certainly not shy about ejaculating his name every where every chance he gets.
How much for a Sam Prentice "Kiss edition"? That's a kit I'd be on your buddy-board with!
Let’s see what we can work out the next event
I wanted a Kiss, Hug, and a Wave... 😥
@threalsamprentice Please ask them about a web cam monitor option already.
I swore i wouldn't buy another bed slinger lol
What’s your opinion about the Stratasys vs Bambu lawsuit? If Stratasys wins, the hobby is in trouble. Heated beds become unavailable, and people who rely on Bambu Labs are in trouble. Not many printers are as easy to use and understand as a Bambu, and it’ll have lasting effects in the 3D printing realm.
They won’t do that, personally all of that stuff is a money play, enforcement of IP generally ends in settlements, plus Bambu were saying they haven’t even had the legal papers. They are going after the profit, this happens all the time but isn’t public knowledge. It happened with the 3D pens and loads of people got sued, but that was because they wanted to sell and retain ownership, stratasys will want to come out of that cleanly Especially now there’s public focus.
Yes. Although I personally think Bambu is a crooked company (but undeniably makes good printers), Stratasys is just jealous and would rather buy them out than introduce their own consumer printer.
@@xportaleerx9287 me sitting with 2 Bambu running next to me: ._.
But anyways yeah.. it’s a guy gray around parts but I haven’t found concrete evidence against them of whatever. I haven’t found anything. Can you point it out?
@enhidri160 Bambu makes it highly impractical to use their product and experience with ease unless you are linked to their cloud service, app, etc. That's ridiculous... users should have a super easy choice between this or just their own private wifi network (which they make extremely difficult to use). That said, Bambu is a big data harvesting monster with their machines reporting sensitive user info. back to their servers that a lot of people would find uncomfortable.
Also, Bambu Lab was started by five guys who were previously part of a Chinese drone company which were just recently (this past September) banned in the US by Congress for posing security risks in relation to the CCP.
Yeah, not a joke. That company is called DJI. Look them up.
@enhidri160 Look up DJI
“Debited”
?
My first 3d printer was a prusa mk3 factory built, twice it had to be replaced until 3rd turned up and it worked. Not happy with support of prusa as they just blamed me for a power supply blowing up then a mainboard failed.
During my prusa issues I bought a creality ender 3 s1, it just worked and I still use the printer today while the prusa sits in the corner unused. Bought loads of different Creality printers but all needed something done to get the best out of them but my ender 3 s1 is still stock.
Then Bambu lab x1c entered my life and 3d printing got easier, nice to see other companies catching up driving development and costs savings.
As far as patent law suites for what was an open source concept just grinds my gears from a company that’s failing.
Sorry I just realised that you had to stop using advanced 3d printers to revert to using the mk4s because of the archaic nature of the technology? Wow 1 step forward 10 steps back 😂
Sadly Stratasys is suing Bambu for lost profits because Ultimaker sucks compared to Bambu
On your last point, not at all it was refreshing to move into that direction I’ve been using the mk4 and XL on various projects and it’s been enjoyable playing with the settings and using it without being told what to do. I’m not a robot ;)
@@TheRealSamPrenticeI get what you’re saying about stepping back but isn’t that just nostalgia, going back to when tinkering was a must to get the best from your printer. I got caught into the prusa hype and the experience fell far short from my personal experience. I have to swap back and forth from my Creality printers and my Bambu lab machines. You can apply your experience to tune Bambu profiles and improve the output, but out of the box experience is hard to beat with the Bambu printers.
@@TheRealSamPrentice As happy3dprinting said, it’s probably nostalgia. Logically, tinkering makes the hobby harder and less enjoyable and accessible to people. Bambu marks a driving force in the hobby, forcing people to innovate. Prusa was getting lazy honestly with the Mk3, they were forced to release the mk4. The lawsuit won’t just affect Bambu, it’ll basically make heated beds and textured plates illegal for the industry.
@Happy3dprinting for sure and I’m sorry you’ve not had a positive experience, I have many Bambu printers but each manufacturer has an edge to it, so for me keeping the balance is important
I will pass
It’s not for everyone
I’m really pumped for the MK4S! Prusa just keeps making awesome machines, and it’s cool to see them always pushing for better. I’m stoked to stick with a brand that actually cares about quality and support. Definitely glad I went with Prusa! ❤🔥❤🩹💔
Great to hear that you are having a positive experience.
Still over priced
welp, I will still buy 4 upgrade kits
Im willing to bet my left kidney that this guy is a bambu owner and is still blind to the endless flaws the x1 has
@@Enjeenier actually I never owned a Bambu lab and I am a MK3s+ and MK3.9 owner and waiting for my 2 tools prusa XL and 3.9s upgrade to be shipped. I got my 1st two kits when prusa used to sell them
For 749USD that was a good price
@@baderalafghani4564 If so, you should know where the extra price comes from: Manufacturing in Europe, livable wages, working conditions, product safety, taxes, ...
No slave labor, though.
