Jamaica’s sprint sensation Shericka Jackson is the fastest 200-meter female sprinter alive, thanks to her world championship record of 21.41 seconds which she clocked last season at the World Championships in Budapest. And even though she has consistently dominated the women’s 200 meters over the years, it seems her 200-meter crown is under threat. And that threat, guys, is from none other than her archrival America’s 200 meters champion Gabby Thomas, who seems to be in the best form of her life thus far.
Of course, things have not been okay with Shericka Jackson in 2024. This Olympic season her performance in the 200 dash has for sure not been pleasing. I mean, we know what Shericka Jackson is capable of, but to be honest we haven’t seen anything good to celebrate about her this season as far as the 200 meters is concerned. A look at her progression in the 200 meters in the past years reveals that by a time like this, a few days before a global event like the Worlds or Olympics, her performance is usually in the sub-21 category. But that is not what we’re seeing... If anything, she is doing worse than Ole Miss collegiate sensation McKenzie Long, whose 200 meters season’s best stands at 21.83 seconds.

I'm a huge fan of both Gabby and Shericka. Since I'm an American, I'm rooting for Gabby to win. Having said that I'm fully aware of what a healthy and fit Shericka is capable of. Jackson's coach has a way of insuring that his athletes show up in peak form when it counts. They're both my favorites, so what I have to say is may the best woman win.

Gabby already peaked with her win at US trials. Shericka is Just getting started. She will peak when Olympics come. She and her coach have deliberately started her season slowly so she doesn't burnout before Olympics..

Championship not won on TH-cam, they're won on the track. Golden State Warriors won 70 odd regular season games but had no legs in the finals. Athletes who peaks at the right time usually win. See you all in Paris

This isn't about rac*m. We all know Gabby has Jamaican origin. The fact that she doesn't compete for Jamaica makes all the difference, and hence the comparison.
