Sprinting like any other career has its flipside and when things start getting out of hand, guys, it’s usually difficult to gain back control. And right now, it’s a moment of sorrow for our two-time Olympic sprint double champion Elaine Thompson-Herah. Well, this is not the kind of news you want to hear at a moment like this, but guys you have to accept it. Amid setbacks, the strong rise again and win… And that’s the mentality of Elaine Thompson-Herah. She was born a winner, she is resilient, and nothing is going to stop her.
Of course, Elaine Thompson-Herah has earned much respect in the world of track and field, and the track community holds her in high regard. The fact that she is the fastest woman alive in the world with a personal record of 10.54 seconds in the 100 meters, makes it natural for her name to surface whenever we talk of major track events. And this being the Olympic season, it’s no surprise the name Elaine Thompson-Herah is ranking high in the track and field search results. But that’s because, Elaine Thompson-Herah has worked hard to get her name at the top in the world of sprinting, and specifically at the Olympics. Thompson-Herah won the 100 and 200 meters double at the 2016 Rio Olympics and then went on to defend those titles in Tokyo in 2021. And while she was looking forward to defending her Olympic crown in Paris to achieve a three-peat double, the unfortunate just happened, and the whole track community is worried about the fate of her sprinting career.

Do you not think that people should be pragmatic? One should be applauded when one wins but should one be applauded when one loses, irrespective of the cause?
This is a very simplistic interpretation of what is happening. It is significantly more nuanced than that. No one is tearing ETH down. Persons are simply pointing to major decisions that resulted in her falling off terribly and suffering from repeated injuries. It has to do with her husband. He is the problem with her career.

@@debonpanton3366 was it her husband fault that under the same coach she did not win one world title. Under the same coach she first sustained the Achilles injury and she continued to run a both 200m and 100m being overtrained because he wanted his accolades instead of realizing he was breaking her body down. The same coach he did an interview and admitted that she did not get proper physical therapy. What does her husband have to do with her downfall when the injuries occurred before they got married. All y’all do is jump on the bandwagon. Literally trying to break up a marriage over sports is pathetic.
I believe that if she is fully healed and has a good strategic racing strategy ie choose her battles carefully, she can break the 100m world record. I believe that if she improves her start, she has a 10.47s in her. This can be achieved if she and Brianna Williams become training partners. They can help each other improve their respective weaknesses, since they both have opposing strengths and weaknesses.

There's nothing to admit because no mistakes were made. If any, it was staying so long. She should have left after her injury. Perhaps you need to know that injuries like hers are often caused by poor workout routines and lack of rest. So staying would have been a bigger mistake.

I have been watching Jamaican Athletics for awhile now from afar , I watched our National Stadium being built , 1960 61 , The 9th Central Caribbean Commonwealth Games was held in our newly built Stadium in 1963 just after our Independence. Was always a huge fan of Track and Field and rightly so as Calabar High is my Alma Mater, matter of fact we won Champs in 1961 the last time it was held at Sabina . There have been many Historic Feat I have witnessed and Elaine Thompson’s is still my favorite.❤️
