The machine is great, but why don't you share 3d files and a bill of material so someone else could buit it?

Ok im back, i have some tips for this. ☺️🥰
#1: print all parts in 75%, zigzag, 5walls ~7 walls ( petg ) [ super needed, heavy is king ]
#2: duel or quad berring on all axis drive systems ( upper and lower from the motor ) . ( lead Z axis screw !!! Major needed )
#3: use ridgid coupler, backlash is about to suck major ass. ( nvm i see you changed them mid way through )
#4: add grease way and ports for all acme drive nuts. ( currently doing this on my zaxis on my large format 3d printed cnc, i ise 2 nuts seperated by some distance and enlose them for a grease way and added a port )
#5: dont jump power on the drivers, bring in power off its own dedicated wire to each terminal on the driver ( reduces signal losses, and helps with current draw ) ( reduces the need for EMI jacket on the spindle on longer jobs )
#6: ground the spindle block ( run a thick green wire to the block that holds the spindle, ( thank me later ) ( i jump mine off an EMI jacket i have around the spindle cables to ground. )
#7: switch to 36v ( motor heating issues with less than 36v and youre drivers will thank you )
#8: locktight on all drive assemblies ( anything that moves fr )
#9: switch to a 500w spindle, you need the speed tbh ( wont really understand why until you test a lot )

Thanks for the tips! was planning on making one for myself but had some questions that some of your tips answered. Just wanna ask if theres any advantage to having the bed move on the xy plane instead of the spindle moving on the xz plane

@@sticky_ricebowl the main advantage of having a moving XY instead of the XZ is the fact that it makes the over all unit you're building smaller in size.
I went with the router gantry desgine since it quite a bit larger and i really wanted to mill aluminum at the minimum. Needed a lot of weight to dampen out the vibrations from the tool head assembly and reduce chatter on the bit.
My next desgine for a large format cnc is based of the XY moving and having the X ( gantry ) fixed. ( its on my too list next year for next ) ( moving away from 3d printed stuff and moving into concrete and steel lol )
You're desgine isn't bad by any means, it's just generation 1 and like anything it just takes a few generations of degine to get perfect

Did you get the 3D files?

Hi, does someone have 3d files and a bill of material for this machine?@@Quinchi

Hey! really great video and it honestly pushed me to redesign my own diy cnc and make a second smaller (but stiffer) one. Just wanted to ask if there was any benefit to having both x and y axis on the bed instead of having z and x on the spindle

"How many M5x16 BHs do you need?"
    "Yes."

Try some aluminum 🙃 not thick though. Like a 1/8 plate. Spindle might not like it though.

amazing ... i like to have stl for the parts and the rest of the build :)

This thing will have so much backlash i bet

All nice, but Z axis.. bad solution, lack of stiffness, spindle very far from the frame
