@vr6prodigy yeah it drives amazing besides when you turn there is a slight notch but I don't think it will really matter as I'm just going to work and school
So under the front of the Passat is an engine cradle. On that cradle is a big roundish perch under the very center. I am using that perch. I would not recommend using a small jack. I do it this way because the pad on my jack just about has that perch down inside of the cup of the pad. If you use too small of a jack the weight of the car can actually shove the jack back out from under it. So be very very very careful and use Jack stands if you lift like this.
@@vr6prodigy I think I see it, just to make sure, its right behind the sway bar but also kind of in front and under the transmission right? It's also the U shaped looking thing ?
So as an update I finally did the oil change, its been raining for the last 2 weeks so I finally got to doing it. There was a big skid plate underneath, so I did get it changed at vw. I do want to start doing my oil changes by myself though. I don't wanna be spending $130 on an oil change. Is it okay to just remove the skid plate and keep it off?
Ive had 3 cars before my license, my 3rd is this car, hope this will be good!
Best of luck buddy! Be real sure there's no electrical issues with the one you go look at!

Can you show us where you are putting the floor jack? I think this will make oil changes so much easier

Matter o fact, if you see where the drain plug is, you'll see the cradle I'm talking about just behind it and the sway bar.

@@Littlemineslaps yes, it's kinda u shaped. Behind the oil pan but in front of the trans pan.
