    Great video as always. I find the easiest way to remove the PCV valve if it’s never been done before is to cut it out. This way it’s easier to get the bottom clamp off.

    Good Video. Just gota explain what the Pcv is and what it does. What are the symptoms and how to know if you have a bad Pcv.

    I've done this about ten years ago and I found out the hose that goes down from the valve and connects to the crank case, it was clogged with oil vapors sludge, I took a long bottle cleaning brush and a degreaser to unclog it and flush it out, its pointless to replace the valve if the hose is restricted and unable to vent which the pressure will result in pushing the engine oil out through valve cover gasket and seals.

    It's a good thing VW put that engine in North/South you couldn't fix anything if they wedged it in sideways.

    Great video, very clear. This is the car that I have. I am getting some exhaust smell inside the cabin. It goes away when I hit the air circulation button. I read somewhere that its probably the PCV. Does that sound right or do you have any tips for me?

    • @CraftyWorkshopBuilds
      @CraftyWorkshopBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Much respect! Yea, if the PVC fails it might cause the valve cover gas to leak oil, if the oil gets on the exhaust manifold it will burn.

    Amazing! I was watching the timing belt replacement and continued onto this one. What is the symptoms to replace the PVC valve. Or should I say what to expect to be a reason to replace it?

      Rough idle, misfire while idle, poor mpg, late throttle response

    • @coopersloan3938
      @coopersloan3938 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leaks from valve cover gaskets/sparkplug wells/cam seals/cam caps/oil pan. Should really check whole PCV system. If the valve or any of those hoses get clogged up (and they do!) the pressure in the manifold will go go up causing leaks. Replacing or at least cleaning every 50k is a no brainer.

    • @MauriceEllerbee
      @MauriceEllerbee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My fault actually it’s a 03 V6 wagon with 4Mo but still how do you like it? Getting my shawty out a bad car situation and for the time being I figured this would be a good purchase rather than give her my B6 A4 1.8T where I’m chasing electric issues where I’m thinking it’s either a bad BCM or CCM.

    Just bypass and delete all the hoses and vent a tube too under the chassis this way ur intake will only breath clean air
