@@Technoid10 I always thought it was an awful idea because it seems it would mess with the audience retention rate and watch time. People skipping over parts instead of watching them. I absolutely love this smart speaker! been using for months and the compatibility of the JBL Link Music with the AirPlay 2 and Chromecast has been a blessing
Does your reply still apply?........... (my jbl link 20.... has problems playing music correctly over wifi / chromecast audio (some interruptions of the sound as it plays), but no problems / good sound when playing via Bluetooth connection instead. ☹️
Looking for some wifi speakers to essentially use as surround sound for my TV via Chromecast. Do you think this one would be good? Would I need 2 speakers (Left and Right)? Im concerned as you mention its pretty heavy on the low end and voices may be crowded out. If no, any recommendations?
Thanks for the comment. First i would say if you want surround sound or looking for something to be like a smart bar meaning soundbar and smart speaker combined i wouldn’t buy this. Not that its terrible but it wouldn’t be enough for it to fill your room. Second if you want the surround feel then two is mandatory. Third their are plenty of options to go for, but the best one i can recommend is the Sonos One: series. It has great quality audio, nicely sized and designed to give a full audio sound, Also if you want two they are sold in a pair at Costco and can save you money. But as a side note if your doing this for your tv i would also suggest looking at a sound-bar. They now have chrome cast support built in and airplay 2, but also they even have ones with google assistant built in. But it all comes down to preference and whatever you can afford. So if you want WiFi speakers I recommend the Sonos one:
I am not sure if it can be a better alternative but JBL Link Music can definitely enhance one's audio experience. I like its features and mediatek definitely seems like a good choice in this range as a processor.
Hi I removed this from Google home and now I can't add with another account to Google home. Is there anyway to reconnect? My Google home can't find this anymore. When I turn it on lights go on and after 30 to 40 seconds it makes a chime sound. I tried pressing mute button for 15 seconds to reset but nothing happens.
Google how to do a reset and setup again from scratch. Problems may have to do with login logout from Google home (if it was not logged out correctly, there may be problems to login again and a reset is required before new login is possible to another Google home account).
$79 on the JBL website. I just bought a Google Nest for $29, but considering the JBL Link Music too. So far i dont like the AC adapter on the JBL Link, so old tech and thick.
Oh wow that was fast in that case if your looking for something better next best thing amazon echo or wait a few days google is announcing a new home product called the nest home
JBL Link Music is definitely a good alternative to Google Home. The size of the device is pretty good and does not really stand out of place. The MediaTek addition to the speaker was a new fact for me. Never knew MediaTek powered so many other devices

I'll answer it myself since I bought one. The speaker does not support "Spotify Connect" feature of Spotify. If you want to connect to spotify, you can use Chromecast or Airplay to do so.

in terms of sound quality, based on what I've seen in your video, I'd say that the echo dot is a good balance of the deep and high pitched sounds. I have a wharfedale soundbar from 2017 and it too has a deeper, more overpowering bass like this JBL. It's good for deep music, but when watching movies or listening to pop where you want the vocals to be crisp and smooth, it doesn't deliver...
First i want to disclaim that sound is subjective to many people we all have our preferences, the audio in the video really isn’t the best representation to base a decision while it helps its not definitive like listening to it in person. I definitely understand where your coming from but the JBL sound signature has been altered a bit making the bass less pronounced and making the vocals start to blossom. They should have a eq but the firmware updates have made adjustments as time passed. The echo while is balanced is muddy as it has to make up for all three different types of sound profiles while the JBL has the duel passive radiators and down firing transducer. But its understandable that the echo is not made for audiophiles
@@Technoid10 True... but I saw it on sale for $170 which is about ~$75 more... It also has the aux (and optical input) so maybe for a little bit more it makes sense? Thanks
Maybe but the echo studio is geared towards high resolution audio and the jbl is for mostly average consumers. I would reccomend the studio only if you want the truly best otherwise if you want a better music player than the google home the link is more than enough
