Thank you for uploading this. I did try and grade the new SR Mewtwo from shining legends, but it had whiting on the back. I was so annoyed since I just pulled it from a pack and sleeved it.

man after taking a refresher on stats on reliability and validity it should be common knowledge to people that things are rarely if ever "perfect" usually error but it all depends on how much. Great video.
Yeah I joined E4 around the time evolutions came out and took a little break to focus on school, but I have more free time now and enjoy reading the threads about up coming sets and what people are collecting themselves. I just need to send some of my cards off to be graded now to fully jump in the hobby.
At the end of the day, it really is up to the grader. No grading is 100% consistent. Ive seen PSA 10 cards with flaws and 8-9 cards that literally look perfect. This is why id prefer BGS since they are more strict with grading and do sub grades so you can tell exactly whats wrong with the cards and not just take a guess based on the day the grader was having.
I know that most people would go for buying into PSA 9 or PSA 10's when it comes to any holo, but I do wonder if PSA 8's will begin to climb in price, especially when it comes to Base Set Charizard of course..!
hey smpratte how about a single print line that is hard to see? and how often do the graders follow their centering rule? on there site it says a psa 10 is allowed a 55/45-60/40 on the front and 75/25 on the back and im sure ive seen a lot of centering in this range on a flawless card that still got a 9.. whats your experience with this?
Hey Scott you are right you i bought a burning shadows pack from Wal-Mart it was just sitting their and i paid for it and open it when i got home and got a full art trainer Guzma and the back edges had a lot of whiting on it I'll show ya I'll look you up if you have a Facebook
I likes ur video and the part about upping the rating. I used ksa on 200+ pack pulled cards never used and so far only have 3. I swear the few that didn't get it is because it was a charizard. Could PSA do on site reviews at a comic or card convention
Hey Question what grade you think a card would receive if the only defect was a centering problem? A significant off centering. I have a bunch of Evolution Zards and they are all perfect condition but since the 1st batch of evolution had a terrible centering problem.
I have a chance to get a shadowless base set lot consisting of at least psa graded 8 charizard,blastiose,venasuar,zapdos,mewtwo non 1st ed and then there are like 10 other holo shadowless cards some 1st ed all in really good condition for $600 should i get it please let me know.

The same thing happened to me, little white dots on the back of both of the ones I pulled.

How do you feel about the new 8.5 grading by PSA? yay or nay?
How would factory silvering effect a grade? Also, what about an english card with a flawless back, but scratching on the holo?

I was told the back on mine is off centered. How does it look like when it’s off centered?
If that is a high 8 low 9 why doesn't PSA issue more 8.5s? I've seen a few.

Got my cards back after 13 months!! 2 8s, 3 9s and 12 10s!!!! Also rewatching this the psa 9 charizard had a horrible dirt mark on the front. Wierd.

It depends on the degree of off-centering. Typically it will be reduced to a 9. But if it is very severe, it could earn an 8.
Sirius Black sometimes you can get a mint 9 (oc) if the only defect is centering

what if super light holo scratches and one teeny part thats white thats hard to see were the only issues? u think it could get a 9 or a 10?
Depends if the centering is not perfect you might get a 8
But if perfect centering you have a good chance at getting a 9 or 10

this is BS because i have some 9s that are scratched on the holo and a couple white dents on the back i hate PSA lol
Anything that involves humans will have variation. Until PSA invents an algorithm that can judge cards, there will be inconsistencies.
