About the 2019 Becky Cringe RR win. She didn't *NEED* that win she was already *SO* over and that match at Mania with Ronda Rousey would have happened regardless. Also since when can s WWE superstar put themself in a Royal Rumble without any officials or GM or execs having a say??? never. My opinion, even though it is 100% bias, Undertaker 2007 should be hall of fame. That was his first title win after he returned as the deadman after chasing the likes of JBL and Kurt Angle for the title and always getting screwed over. After the win he was kind of always in the title picture till he went part time in 2010. The people he was able to elevate with the title and put on banger after absolute banger was awesome. The likes of Batista, Edge, CM Punk, Kane and maybe not necessarily elevate but with Smackdown being the so called "B show" definitely made it worth watching for the following years. Hell the stories even took him to have those two classics at WM 25 and 26 if you think about it. HoF for sure.
@@optimus2008true, I only said it was more prestigious because I was a SmackDown guy. SmackDown v raw was still a thing on what brand is better and I’m picking Batista undertaker and that big gold belt. Raw was good but SmackDown was better imo

I totally agree with you about Taker vs Batista, Santi. It was a good story going in with the importance of the streak and Batista's popularity both rising massively at the time! Plus, it was a damn good match, especially given Takers reputation of his best matches normally being with light heavyweights. Big Dave knew what an honor it was, and REALLY brought it to Taker that day, too! VERY underrated streak match.
2007 was the first Wreslemania season that I remember fully🔥John Cena vs Shawn Michaels, Batista vs. Undertaker, Umaga vs. Bobby Lashley. From Royal Rumble to Wreslemania probably the best build up they ever did
This year’s Royal Rumble, which is only 8 days away as of commenting this, is gonna be the first PLE I ever attend and I could not be more excited. This is a childhood dream come true and I’ve got my hopes extremely high!

05 Rumble (and 96) will always be a favorite of mine personally since I was there. In fact, I’m the guy in all white (wearing defunked Denver 15 throwback jersey) above Dave’s left bicep in the photo you used. Great memories
Man, I miss when they used the Royal Rumble to put the new up and coming talent over and showcase them that this is the guy going forward. Felt like we haven’t had that for a long time now
I do think you should include wrestling before the time you started watching as well because its all part and parcel of what wrestling is. Alot of my favorite ever moments happened before I was even born! I think those moments deserve to be highlighted too
I really wish Benoit wouldn’t have done what he did, we all do, but I just really wish he wouldn’t. And I wish we knew why he did it. He was such a star, the workhorse of the company, and he threw it all away, and took his poor wife and child with it.
While I sometimes might not entirely agree with the rankings, your reasonings keep me rooted firm and confident with the placements you give to them. Excellent video, Santi.
Not gonna lie, the 2004 Royal Rumble is still one of my most favorite ever. It was so well booked and written and is literally one of the only Rumbles where you were up to your feet until the very end, because you didn't knew who won. It made great storylines with Goldberg and Lesnar, Big Show actually looked more strong then ever and i really thought he would win, Orton getting the Legendkiller running with squash eliminating Foley and Benoit was the perfect winner at that time, which made him to one of the most favorite stars of many people and lifted him in the main event scene. It was a great Rumble and as you rightfully say, it shouldn't be erased by the books, only because Benoit won it.
That’s why I’m surprised he only put Bianca’s as GREAT when she 100% should’ve been put in HALL OF FAME. After her victory against Sasha she literally became the face of the company. I think the Squash match at Summer Slam that year was stupid but it didn’t hurt her at all
The funny thing is WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth had JR in-game say that The Undertaker had never won a Royal Rumble throughout his career (1990-2002). 5 years later and The Undertaker has now won a Royal Rumble
In regards to Cena in 2013 totally agree and there actually was a way out...Simply have Cena not win and then win at EC ...but then you have to hurt Rock's ego by not having picked
wouldve been cool having something like punk vs cena for the title at mania from cena winning ec and then couldve had rock vs undertaker which wouldve been very entertaining
My favorite is Shawn Michaels in 1995. First person to ever win from the #1 spot, and I knew he’d win cause whoever won basically got to go on a date with Pamella Anderson 🤷♂️.
If Eddie Guerrero didn’t die in 05 I think Eddie would’ve won 2006 royal rumble. They did have plans for him to main event wrestlemania that year. But for obvious reasons that never happened so ofc they gonna give the victory to Rey mysterio. Who else
Sasha banks was the one who should win the Royal Rumble 2022,but they make Ronda return and win while she’s pregnant !! Now I don’t blame Sasha leaving this company 🫤
I think the big problem with the 2016 Rumble and the road to WrestleMania was that it was overbooked, but the match between HHH and Roman was underbookked, because the story called for a violent ending and. I remember it was announced as No DQ and then as a regular match, back to No DQ and eventually regular because Vince McMahon couldn't make up his mind. I think the title shouldn't have been defended in the Rumble. I think the original plan was different and it'd have been better. Roman would defend against the entire League of Nations and Triple H with Vince and Stephanie helping HHH. Lesnar would win the Rumble, Roman would be taken out, come back to get his rematch and eventually earn his spot after beating HHH.
Part of the reason people turned on Roman in 2015 was twofold. 1. Winning the rumble and being shotgunned into the main event after having only 1 singles match up to that point. The injury he got in 2014 really really doomed him. 2. End of 2014-start of 2015, they started to have him talk. And they were legitimately some of the worst promos anyone has seen in recent memory.
It should also be noted for the 2008 Cena rumble win that also brings it down is that he used his title opportunity at No way out instead of wrestlemania. Randy Orton gets himself disqualified in the match so he retains the title. Then Cena beats Randy Orton on an episode of raw I believe to get into the triple H and Orton match and make it a triple threat.
I agree with this from start to finish. If I’m in a good mood, I’d push Seth’s win to great category. Speaking of Seth, looks like they are setting up a Bronson Reed vs Seth feud for the world title 🤫.
One of my biggest gripes with WWE is not giving Nakamura the title. Especially vs Jinder freakin Mahal, who i held a grudge against until the other week. -Kalel.
You might be misremembering the program that Sasha and Bianca had on the way to Wrestlemania 37. It was literally just the two going after the womens tag titles while Reginald thirsted over Sasha.
You should put Chris Benoit's royal rumble win in to the great list, because that created a great story-line for underdogs who could main event wrestle mania.
So Brock Lesnar’s been arguably the best choice and the worst choice for a Royal Rumble win in his career. Could make a case for Batista there too minus the benefit of hindsight
yeh if eddie never died wouldve been someone else who probably wouldve challenged for cenas title as it was rumoured eddie was going to win the title from batistas injury and defend it vs shawn michaels wrestlemania 22 which wouldve been such a classic
Charlotte winning the 2020 Rumble was also a bad move because Shayna was meant to win that year's rumble. Instead, she went on to win one of the worst Elimination Chamber matches to try and make her a dominant heel despite losing to Becky at Mania.
Random thought but The Undertaker is probably the most beloved superstar of all time. Any other mega star has some haters but absolutely everyone loves and respects the deadman
Naw, in 2012 I wanted sheamus to win the rumble so bad. He was my favorite at the time. And also seeing him beat Bryan in 18 seconds in one of my favorite mania moments
Santi...2008 Cena won then at No Way Out 2008 he faced Orton for the title. HHH won the Elimination Chamber to get the opportunity at the title. Orton v Cena II happened on Raw with Hunter as the Special Ref. Cena wins then Triple Threat match happens. Cena's FIRST LOSS AT MANIA.
