  • Hello everyone. Today I’ll be talking about one of my favourite topics, and I’m sure for many a very important one too! Aromatherapy blending for soap making is an art, and a beautiful one at that! There are many health and environmental benefits from using essential oils.
    I hope you enjoy the video; it is my first video with my face and voice! I was extremely nervous but built up the courage.

    I am so impressed George, your video is wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and learned a lot, in particular about using that Cedarwood to anchor my blends! Having personally smelled and used your soaps, I know how amazing they are. I'm keen to use some of your blends in my future videos!
    I think you have a great face, great expression, and a perfect voice for youtube! Not to mention your incredible knowledge that so many people can benefit from. Great to see you took the plunge into your first 'talkie' video - well done 🙌

      @@24shwetaa Hey go for it I am soaping for just over a year. It's so satisfying. And am really surprised that you get all most all the ingredients in India. From EOs to clays to the botanicals.
      I started by watching Elly for the very first time.

    You are my godsend George!! I found you through your appearance on Elly. I am new to soap making in practice and have been watching all the greats across youtube for awhile now, gathering info here and there for when I am ready for the much anticipated deep dive. I find you (and Elly) to be the most informative and helpful, especially with all the nuances involved that often get missed by others. I especially wish to express my gratitude for this particular video on Essential Oils and anchoring them. No one else talks about this and you have saved myself and many others who wish to stick with what is natural from that long arduous expensive rabbit hole of experimenting and wasting of ingredients so to speak. Experimenting is always good but great to not enter it so blindly now thanks to you! P.S. your humble and gentle manner make watching and learning a pleasure, so good move by you that you embraced your true value and revealed yourself to the world on here.

      Thanks so much for commenting and the kind words Jane. I am really glad I decided to do this video, I was really hesitant, it was actually Elly that encouraged me to do so and get in front of the camera to overcome my fears! I felt it would help many others and of course I love aromatherapy blending especially in soap making. It is by far the most expensive input in soap both for businesses and soap hobbyists alike, and can easily accumulate to a considerable amount especially with trial & error. Thanks again much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏

    Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your experience! It really does match my own experiences in soaping with EOs over the last 25 years 😊 But I'm always learning. Just finished a round of trials with Sweet Orange, which I rarely use, and had to figure out how to hold the scent, even with patchouli in the blend! Atlas Cedarwood is my usual go-to (and also my favourite scent in the universe! 😊) but this time I tried to recreate all the individual parts of the scent of oranges, using petitgrain and bergamot, and black pepper to synthesize everything together. It was a very interesting process!

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Janet. I love cedarwood also it's my most favourite EO followed by patchouli and clove. Yeah orange 5 or 10 fold is really the only way to go in cold process soap. Will have a hard time making regular orange stick. It's too fragile. It's always fun learning and applying especially something like essential oils. Learning never stops with soap making or anything really 🙏🙏🙏

    Hello George, I met you through Kelly's videos and loved it. Congratulations on your work. My biggest difficulty, now that I venture into the world of homemade soaps, is to find essential oils and other raw materials, in suppliers other than the final seller, which get very expensive. I do not know how to do, where to look, I live in Portugal!

    This was invaluable for a beginner soap maker. I have been so disappointed when an expensive EO blend didn't transfer well or last in a soap bar. Your very patient explanation and the back up slides were a great help to my note-taking. I have been trying all year to anchor a decent lavender scent - and will be trying again with my next batch feeling much more confident. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I dabble in soap making for home use and love using essential oils but am often disappointed with the lasting power of the scents. I appreciate your detailed explanation on base notes, and how they anchor top notes..i had always been slightly confused by this, I thought the base would over power, but now understand it depends on the percentage used. So a big thank you. I have also had a look at your website and excited to try some of you soaps.
