Dinoking was actually the recolor, Monstructor came first. So I guess the Dinoforce were given dinosaur Pretender shells instead of generic monster shells because Japan realized evil dinosaurs are pretty cool. Been having a lot of fun with this set, the colors and pile of accessories go a long way towards making me like them more than the Core Dinobots. You can get a bit of an elbow bend on Dinoking if you twist the lower arms, though you have to be careful of Yokuryu and Gairyu's wings and arms respectively.
Well I honestly wished that the Dino Force were Autobots instead of Decepticons. Sorry, but I never really liked the idea of blindly-portrayed-as-evil dinosaurs/prehistoric creatures (just because they are “big scary dinosaurs”) (especially when the herbivores get portrayed negatively/as evil too, I get the herbivorous dinosaurs aren’t completely safe to be around as well but still). Even though we already have the Dinobots, the Dino Force has a lot of unique concepts too, such as the fact that they are so cute and comical in Victory, they have shells resembling organic mechanically armoured dinosaurs instead of purely mechanical ones, plus their (group) name sounds heroic too.

I love this set. Mass improvement over the Dinobot ones. Accessories and popping colors. What I love about this set is the scale. I’d love if Hasbro did more core class combiners especially on the most obscure ones. Plus it throws me back to older combiners who are about this scale. Don’t get me wrong I love the recent combiners but something of this scale I would LOVE to see more of

Glad you like Dino King a good review as always, As to Gairyu The Scar redo He dose have the Decepticon Emblem it on his upper chest in Robot mode it a tiny Purple blur and hard to see with that green colour. He do look a bit better then Volcanicus, I hope someday they make a Bigger size of him but who knows.
I think they should release another figure with an accessories pack to fill in these accessories for the core-class Volcanicus and provide other accessories for other bots.
Well (I noticed) they are basing them (their robot modes) off the individual Dinoforce’s inner robot colours. Goryu’s inner robot was primarily green Kakuryu’s was primarily yellow or black Rairyu’s was white Doryu’s was blue and white Gairyu’s was green Yokuryu’s was blue and white Their individual alt modes are based off their dinosaur shells.

I was given this set as an early birthday present. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do... The Decepticon color scheme helps the dinos pop and the extra accessories are most welcome. And the windowed packaging is most certainly a win. I'm not sure I would have personally purchased the set but ... Now that I have it in hand, it's a step up from the core class collection purchased off the shelf. I think it's worth it for those one the fence.
It's a shame that Hasbro gave no way to put them back in the box for display once opened, could really have done with a tray of some kind, even cardboard compartments would have done the job. Just looking forward to Hasbro Pulse UK actually shipping towards the end of the month

So $80.... For that? No! The only reason I skimmed through this review was to see if you'd actually do some real size comparisons with ER Optimus. Even quality wise I know it doesn't look good standing anywhere near Deathsaurus. So this is a definite pass for me. Hasbro needs to step their game up and make a quality Combiner out of this and Monstructor if they want my money.
I mean he's six Core Class figures which typically go for around $12 each so that's $72 right there, plus the pile of accessories and combiner parts is easily worth another $8 imo As far as scale, Dinoking and ER Optimus' heads are about level but counting Dinoking's shoulders and overall bulk, he's a lot bigger, more comparable to 86 Prime but even then I'd say Dinoking slightly edges him out
@@franzise3605 I'm glad that you noticed that since only 1 of those individual Core class retools doesn't look like crap to begin with.. A lot of people weren't all that happy with the recent Legacy Stunticon set, so taking larger steps backwards on quality is not helping the matter!
@@Peshi80 I was pretty satisfied with Legacy Menasor so can't relate; yes Breakdown could have used more remolding and the boomerang spoiler thing is dumb but it's not a dealbreaker (I got the toy-accurate box set so he at least has the Countach windows) Again, keep in mind the Dinoforce are Core-sized figures that are also essentially triple-changers, which is honestly more than you can say for most of Menasor; two of the cars just split in half and two just plug into the legs. They're not perfect by any means with Rairyu suffering the most due to what he has to do for his combined mode, but I'd say the rest are at least "okay" with Yokuryu, Doryu, and Kakuryu being pretty good.

It’s nice that Dinoking gets feet and weapon accessories but it seems like a slap in the face that the Dinobots didn’t have all that stuff too.

If the pice was 40% less i would consider it, but at full price it's a ripp off.
