I love my LIFT 33! I have been shooting it every day since I brought it home. Coming from Hoyt it does have a very tight valley but it has taught me to not be lazy at full draw.
@@tommywagoner7669 the long riser makes the bow super steady, and the minimal vibration helps me follow through better. it also is so much more comfortable to shoot.
What I have noticed the most about that bow from watching everyone's vids on it is, how QUIET it is....That is the most important to me, right now I am shooting a Hoyt....LOVE IT....never was a Mattew's fan till I seen the new Lift!!!!
For me having that little extra weight really helps me slow things down my hunting set up probably around 8.5 lbs when my adrenaline is pumping a lighter set up just doesn’t work for me personally
You should do a short video series about small setup stuff like tying in a d-loop, peep, leveling your sight, that kind of thing. But I leach in its own short video. Love the content!
Just made the switch from Bear to the lift 33. Been watching you shoot this build and it looked so good i wemt ahead and got one. Super light quite and virtually no vibration. Way smoother draw and quiter than my Bear adapt.
I can’t wait to get mine dialed in. Waiting for it to come into my local shop. Wanting to shoot the 75 and 80# mods in the 80 and 85% let offs. Going with the 33” though.
Funny how the industry wanted light bows then shifted back to more heavy now Mathew’s is going light again. Full circle. Hoyt had magnesium riser in the hawk. Super light.
Thanks for the review. However, I am a little salty about the lift. Not that it's a bad bow, but the huge amount of changes they did for this bow over the previous year. I just bought a phase4 at the end of August for this year's deer season, as I was assured by others, and local shop( they didn't have info on this bow before release) that none of the companies make too many changes from year to year. Well, they were wrong with this one. I still love the phase4, but given the option, I would have waited for the lift. As someone with a 27.5 draw length, It would give me every little bit of performance for that draw length.
dude, the lift draw cycle is way stiffer than the phase 4. That's not good for hunting. And once loaded that light weight will wash out. I killed 4 deer this season with the PHASE 4. Don't look at it as what could have been if you waited.
Same here man...same here...we have no choice, but to rock what we have till we can upgrade again...or at least for me again! Took 3 deer with my Phase4 33 and it's been wonderful, haven't shot the LIFT, but I cant justify another upgrade without anything being majorly revolutionary let alone scrounge up another $2k to put into a trade up...
All promotion and advertising, like Chris’ excellent video, is designed to turn your “want” into a need. While lighter is better, you won’t realize the weight-reduction benefit unless you are hiking miles over mountains to hunt like a Western hunter. I also have the Phase 4 and ride a 4-wheeler to spots near my stands. Took two 8 points last week. While a lighter bow would be nice to have, carrying my bow on my pak isn’t currently a burden. With respect to the aggressive Cams, the increased speed would be nice but 5-6 ft per second won’t help me take more deer. Most of my shots are 20-30 yards in the woods where the big boys hide-out,. So, we’re talking imperceptible fractions of a second in terms of benefit. I appreciate your frustration with the salespeople. However, Count your blessings to have a Phase 4, continue to use it and reexamine your needs and wants again in 12-24 mo. By that point, they’ll have other bows whose tech will then have surpassed the Lift.
as someone interested, not experienced in this, one would think the stabilisers, esp. with heavy weights, are mainly for competition target shooting, like Olympics, where the pendulum effect of these return the bow to the same point, like recoil in a firearm, so you can get more accuracy, as you return to the same "battery" position, and for target shooting, you are at the same one, and not 'camping' so the extra weight doesn't matter (as each round would only last 10-15 shots, then you put the bow down for 15 minutes, till the next round), so "fatigue" is not necessarily a factor.
I’m super happy with my phase 4 just bought it Maybe I should have waited but they stay in production for 2 years plus how good will the technology be 3 or 4 years from now They’re all great bows I’ve already Robin Hooded one first time ever
It’s still a solid purchase. I think bow speeds have reached their limit. I still have my V3X 29 and I love it. However I am contemplating the longer axle to axle. I like backpacking on public hunts and my 29 can get pretty heavy. I held the LIFT 33 and I can’t believe how light it is. At the end of the day it’s you who will make the most out of the bow. Shoot targets, go on a hunt and bring food home. Cheers!
I’m not a Mathew’s guy, but the Lift seems to be a bow worth the Mathew’s marketing and hype. It’s a culmination of all the innovation over the last several years into a new platform. If I were in the market, the Lift would be one I would try.
How do you accommodate to not having an 8 deg drop on your front bar? I know previous bows that all you shoot, or does it make a difference to you? If adding more front weight makes the feel the same, are you really accomplishing a better lower center of gravity? In my experience lower COG gives me a more steady feel.
I bought the Lift in Bottomland Camo, 29.5 with Bridge-lock 5 pin sight and QAD rest with low profile quiver and my whole setup weighs 5.1 lbs. Ready to hunt.
Can you do a in depth video on how you fire you thumb, the technique exactly how you aim and float to the getting the release to fire for what ever method you using to get it to brake, what ever you method your using (back tension?) or just the slow hold a squeeze Chris please?
At my local shop, everyone is in agreement the LIFT is louder and has more felt vibe than the Phase 4. Most feel that the reduced weight is the culprit, in that there is less mass to absorb things. Just sharing what the consensus is at a large archery shop. Just because the LIFT is louder and has more vibe than its predecessor doesn't mean it is not a great bow. The consensus in the shop is the Alpha X bows are the quietest and most vibe free this year. Thankful for so many choices in the industry. Something to fit everyone.
Held the Lift for the first time today, when the guy at the bow shop told me it was sub-4 pounds I just kind of shrugged it off. It honestly felt like a toy it was so light. Just bought a phase 4 last year but it’s got me thinking 😂
Wow been shooting my Mathews DXT since 2010. Guess it's time to try a newer one. Funny this new bow is only 20 fps faster. The DXT still shoots great to this day out to 60 yrds. Nice thing is the Mathews dealer is only 2 miles down the road.
