Mathews z7 extreme also. Shot every new bow since. Only one I liked was the creed. Then I shot last year’s original lift. Big fan, just don’t wanna spend the coin when I only get to bowhunt 2-3 times a year.
I have a 04 Hoyt katera. I paper tune it every season just to make sure my string is still directly behind my arrow. She is always on point and ready for whatever. I don’t see any reason to buy another bow. She’s always awesome 🤩
I shot my Mathews Switchback for ever upgraded 4 years ago to the Mathews V3. Nice bow BUT the solo cam is soooooooooo smooth and easy to shoot. I shoot heavy arrows so I could care less about speed. I exclusively shoot whitetail deer. I want a knock out punch at 30 yards. Not a flat shooting bow at 60 yards. Nice video...
How often do you shoot your bow If they were able to hunt 14 years or 1400 years ago it will still do it Deer elk or any animal hasn’t gotten any tougher now than before
Yeah, I love this bow. I have a z7, no cam and an old q2 and the q2 shoots better than most bows today. Ima bowtech guy now, but i still love my single cam mathews.
Just bought a Prime Ronan yesterday. My 20 year old Hoyt Viper finally broke one of the small plastic pieces that keep the limbs straight. Unfortunately Hoyt no longer sells parts for it so it finally reached the end of the road. But still, if I can get 20 out of this new one, I’ll be extremely happy. Oh, and that Hoyt shot just as good up until the day it died
Still shooting a z7 and love it. Really don’t think it’s worth spending $1,200-$1,500 to gain 10fps. Plus with the cult following solo cams have it’s actually gone up in value since I purchased it for $400
Love this ! I actually have been purposely shooting older single cams. They draw like butter , easy to tune and work on, and shoot great ! I actually just picked up a bear empire with tags still on it !! Love it !
I always tell my buddies this, if it killed a deer 10 years ago why wouldn’t it kill a deer now ?? 🤷🏻♂️ the deer are not any faster or smarter!! As long as you maintain it why wouldn’t it be just as good ?! It’s all about keeping up with the Jones at the end of the day. Once you can get over that you will save a lot of money.
Hey, there’s a 14-year-old kid out there somewhere missing his pants. Haha. 👍🏼 good vid. I was shooting my 2008 Bowtech guardian until my shoulder went out this year and I had to get a Tenpoint crossbow. I miss my bow !
Nobody will convince me 70-100 yards on game is ethical. Im old school and both my recent kills came at 1 yard (deer at base of my tree) and 20 yards. For whitetails, if you cant get any closer than 70 yards then you need to work on your HUNTING skills, not your archery skills
More weight in the bow should reduce pin float. That bow was 80% let-off. Where the difference is is the riser length. The shorter risers don't hold on target as nicely as the longer risers do. My Reezen 6.5 holds "alright" on target, but my Ovation doesn't move.
I bought a new budget bow this year. A Bear Paradigm 33 1/2 inches . It shoots better with the quiver on with arrows. My old bow was 19 years old. I had been in a car accident 2 years ago. And thought this might be my last year hunting with a bow. But really like this now.😊
I had a bow from the late 90s/early 2000s my wife found at a garage sale. Zeroed in perfectly. Only problem is it was super heavy compared to more modern bows.

I've been using my 2013 Creed a lot this year. I have some newer stuff but I just love that bow. I will admit newer models hold better. I think it's the long risers and wide limbs.
Last 3 yrs Iv been shooting a g5 quest torrent thats is from 2012 that was free to learn on that I have got very well at shooting because Iv practiced thousands and thousands and thousands of shots with but just got a bear THP adapt2, yes the new bow is lot lighter but im more comfortable with the old bow , change is not always good
I started on an Indian archery bow it’s the model 231, recently I upgraded to the pse stinger and I now group shots within 2-3 inches. Learning on that old bow is the best thing I could’ve done 😂. It has 30 pounds sitting at full letoff and has a small rubber flange as a rest.
Also it’s an investment but get an iron man target I got the 24 inch and I’ve changed the string on that old bow 3 times and it’s still holding up well

It's all about $$$, and when the public is so eager to play that game, all it does is drive the prices higher and higher. That's why we have $3000 crossbows now. And $2000 cell phones. Etc, etc. And, WE have the power to make those prices drop overnight. Stop buying them.

@@torreyintahoe Does it kill the deer anymore dead than the 14 year old bow? Is a lighter bow a more accurate bow? If so, Why do we add all the weight to it?
