Not just young girls are fans of BTS. I'm a 58 year old BTS Army. My daughters are 25 and 34 and also Army. Give the boys a fair chance. You might be pleasantly surprised. Dynamite was not intended to be deep. They made this happy, bright song to cheer up their fans during Covid. You really need to find out what they stand for. 💜

I don’t know if I love or hate when people get to know bts through Dynamite because it’s just that a fun and summery song that was released in the pandemic to bring a little bit of happiness to their fans in those dark times (and it wasn’t written by them😅) bts have three of the best songwriters and producers of this generation. The 3 rappers RM, Suga or Agust D and J-hope are amazing artists the vocalists Jin, Jimin, V and JK are incredible as well. They aren’t fabricated idols or just pretty faces, they are real artists extremely committed to their work and art😊 and yes Jimin is pretty like a girl and that’s totally fine💜

Their are alot of metal fans who love bts and their music as well they are absolutely incredible. This song was made during the pandemic to help people feel happier. BTS fans are called Army and the ages and genders of thier fans have no limits what so ever they are for every age and gender. I'm 32 and been an Army since their pre debut days in 2013 and still a fan of theirs.

To be fair, dynamite was their first all english song and catered to the western world. If you really want their own kpop sound I suggest their older songs before dynamite such as DNA, Idol and Blood, Sweat & Tears ! Gr. Roma :)

To answer the end question -- I'm 45, have never been into boy bands, and figured these guys were the usual.
The fastest way to irritate me is to show me a bunch of pretty boys who are puppeted around to make money with inane songs....
I WAS SO WRONG about who they are. LAWD, was I wrong!
Yes, they have their fun songs. But they started in underground rap, have struggled SO HARD to get where they are, write and direct their own songs and creative works, and have songs and lyrics (several) that I have listened to on repeat because they are so real and authentic.
Each member has solo work out that is a completely different flavor from one to the next. When they all come together, it is magic.
They literally changed the game in the kpop industry (by breaking the molds and restrictions set by previous acts and companies), and forced the West to up their game ever since rocking the American award show circuit starting in 2017.
The West's music industry had a vested interest in boxing them in as fluff, and doing everything they could to downplay BTS's success and music (read: refusing to give them radio play for their non-pop songs, no matter how popular they were).
To really know them is to truly appreciate all they do and wish only the best for them. :)

Thank you for your honest reaction to BTS. This is not your typical BTS song, it is one of 3 songs they released during the pandemic, totally in English, but not written by them. Most of their songs are in Korean or Japanese, with some English added, sometimes to rhyme, and most of their songs are written by the members of BTS. They cover a lot of different genres from Hip Hop, R&B, pop, EDM, battle style rap, beautiful ballads, Latin Pop, Rock, and even Jazz. I am 53 years old and first heard BTS in early 2022, and I have come to love them for their musical talent and Dancing, art, and performances, and especially for the tremendous hard working and great people they are. If you would like to see some of their other stuff, I recommend MIC DROP, Black Swan, On Kinetic Manifesto, BTS ROOM LIVE 2021, DOPE, Airplane Pt.2, Take Two, and the full MMA 2019 performance. Each of the members have their own solo work as well, which is amazing! Here are some suggestions for their solo work:
Jin: The Astronaut, Epiphany, Moon, Yours.
SUGA: AGUST D, Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala, The Last.
J-Hope: More, On the Street, Ego, Equal Sign.
RM: Wildflower, Moonchild, Forever Rain, Still Life.
Jimin: Set Me Free Pt.2, Like Crazy, Serendipity, Promise, Christmas Love, Filter.
V: Stigma, Singularity, Christmas Tree, Sweet Night, Love Me Again, Slow Dancing.
Jungkook: Stay Alive, Euphoria, Still With Me, SEVEN, Dreamers.
If you want to know more about BTS a really great documentary is A Guide to the BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari.

All amazing suggestions for her to check out. The only thing I would add is The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story Of BTS (2023 Update) by Rice Squad. I always think that it, and Taylor's guide, are the best introductions available. Taylor looks more at the guys, while Rice Squad focus more on the musical journey; so between the two, you get a fuller understanding of the guys, and how amazing they are.💜
they have, literally, hundreds of songs. And, I would say, thousands of videos that showcase their personalities - including the series Rookie King; BTS Gayo; American Hustle Life; Run BTS; Bon Voyage; In The SOOP. There are also their speeches at the UN, the Dear Class speech, their speech at The White House, and so much more. Plus ALL the compilation videos.
I can promise that, if you approach BTS with an open mind, you won't be disappointed. And I guarantee that you will find something you love, whether it be a group song or a solo song.💜
And, as others have stated, not all of us are young girls. I'm a 54 year old woman from New Zealand. A trust me, metalheads LOVE BTS - even if it takes them a while to figure out why.
So welcome to your BTS journey. "Enter freely, and unafraid", and know that we'll be with you. Have fun. Borahae💜

Hi, 63 year old silver army here. I smiled when you said, “No, no, I’m metal”. You be surprised how many metal fans like BTS. This song was released during the pandemic to bring some cheer to us. Yes, they are gorgeous but they are also funny, humble, and no pretentious attitudes and behaviors. Believe it or not we (BTS and army/fan base) celebrated 10 year anniversary in June. They have over 300 songs in their discography and does multiple genres. 3 rapper and 4 vocalists. Dynamite is a catchy and fun song but if you have an open mind and listen to their songs they will resonate with you in so many levels. I’m glad you enjoyed the song.

  • @3k2jpm18
    @3k2jpm18 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +44

This song wasn’t written by them - look it up if you’re really interested. The lyrics are not really shallow if you understand that they are telling you to cheer up .. have a cup of milk rock and roll jump some hoops or play ping pong …telling you to have fun? You yourself said it has positive vibes and that’s exactly why they released the song in summer of 2020 where everyone needed cheering up during the pandemic. Umm what did you mean about young girls taste in music? Isn’t it as valid as anyone else’s? The reason why this group has the largest multicultural multi generational and multi gender fan base in the world.. is not just because of their looks..

    • @wundertam
      @wundertam  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Good point! I mean it more that maybe younger girls will look more at the aestethics and overall vibes of the song than look for substance? A speculation of course but it took me 100 listens to certain songs and some aging to get the actual meaning. Best example i can think of is vibing to Pumped Up Kicks and then realising the lyrics

    • @jimin585

@@wundertam the Dynamite lyrics are indeed shallow...it's a bunch of the most common english/American words you can put together but it was released at the height of pandemic ...it served its purpose... it was upbeat, happy and uplifted many people even those who aren't their fans...look for the songs they themselves have written are great and at times some deep. they however are Korean (turn the cc to read their captions) as only 1 is fluent in English. Well as for the reasons why they are popular , that's the performance, prolific and relatable songs member's personalities and yeah why not their looks. as for the ages, fans can be 7 to 70, female and males...they can sellout stadiums concerts and cars. Not many teenage girls can afford that.

This "pure nothingness" got them their first Grammy nomination.
71 year old BTS Army here. BTS is the biggest group in the world and has broken long standing records by artists like The Beatles and Michael Jackson. The all English song "Dynamite" was their first Grammy nomination. They now have 5. Two are with Coldplay. They also have 11 American Music Awards including Artist of the Year, 12 record setting Billboard Music Awards, and over 725+ awards worldwide. They released 3 all English feel good songs during the pandemic to cheer up their Army of fans.
Only 68 artists in history have debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and BTS holds the record with 6 songs. Two of the BTS members have also debuted at #1 with recent solo releases, Jimin and their main vocalist Jung Kook.
BTS has moved far beyond Kpop and is now a global phenomenon.
They have one of the very biggest fandoms on the planet known as the BTS Army. We are very devoted to BTS and very passionate about their music!
BTS is a lot bigger than you realize. Their collaboration list is impressive:
Nicki Minaj, Lauv, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki (the G.O.A.T.), Lil Nas X, J. Cole, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Puth, Halsey, Coldplay, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Benny Blanco, Becky G, Jason Derulo, Juice WRLD, Zara Larsson, and more.
Thanks for your reaction! 💜 (They speak both English and Korean in most of their songs.)

This is definitely their most mainstream pop song. But they have 3 rappers and started off as hip hop. This is actually one of their least deep songs. Tbh I sometimes kinda hate that people get to know them through "dynamite" because people hear it and are like "okay so they are mainstream pop" but they are SO much more then that.. and their fans are of all ages and genders not only teenage girls 😉

    here my recommendation:
    1. song with tight performances: "ON" "Not Today" "Mic Drop" "Fake Love"
    2. song with deep lyrics: actually all of their song is speaking truth about themself or their current situation but these songs can be your introduction: "Black Swans" "Epilogue: Young Forever" "Born Singer(remake of Born Sinner by J.Cole)"
    2. Hiphop: "Run BTS" "We are Bulletproof Pt.2" there's a lot actually cause they're grounded from hiphop background
    3. Rap: Cypher Pt.1, Cypher Pt.2, Chyper Pt.3, Chyper Pt.4 it's full rap song cause it sang by their rapline members
since you're metalhead I recommend you to react to these first: "Danger" "Dionysus" "Ugh" "Not Today" "Mic Drop" and "Outro:Tear"
you can watch their official music video on their official: "Hybe Labels" and "BangtanTV" here you can turn the english subtitles on. if there's no music video you can watch their live performances by searching: bts-name of the song-live performance-engsub

BTS is a South Korean boy band consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers.
They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop.
All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them.
BTS started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves.
Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance, these three songs were released in English to give positive energy to people around the world during the pandemic caused by Covid-19. :)
Most of their songs are in Korean, and their music video provides subtitles in several languages, including English.
If you're interested in BTS' other songs, I highly recommend Mic Drop's MV and the live performances. (It's one of their billion-view music video.) And then...
    FIRE
    Blood Sweat & Tears
    On kinetic manifesto film
    Black Swan
    Young forever
    Spring day
    Heartbeat
    Save me→I'm fine→Best of Me
    Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo)
Oh, I'd like to introduce the story of the iconic trilogy that led them to a speech to the United Nations General Assembly.
I think it would be good to follow the story line.
DNA: Joy of fateful love → Fake Love: Realizing that love was a lie → IDOL, The Truth Untold, Epiphany, Answer Love Myself: To love other people completely, you should love yourself first.
These are included in Love Yourself Trilogy.
The lyrics of BTS' songs are based on their own experiences, and their albums are organic because they contain their growth narrative.
It will also be fun to listen to their albums in order and analyze them. :)
They make a wide variety of genres of music like Hip-hop, Ballad, R&B, pop, EDM, etc. I'm sure there're quite a few of their over 300 songs that suit your taste. :)
Oh, plz don't forget their live performances. :)
Personally, one of my favorite Dynamite live performance is BTS-IHEART RADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL 2020 FULL HD!

    Maybe you can try this.
[2021 FESTA] BTS (방탄소년단) BTS ROOM LIVE
    th-cam.com/video/RRhjdYsNwAk/w-d-xo.html
It's a medley performance where you can taste the diversity of their music in 10 minutes. They are Korean songs, but English subtitles are provided, so you don't need to worry. :)
They don't dance in this performance, but you can see them having so much fun. :)
BTS members are about to join the military.
After releasing a collaboration single with Coldplay, Jin, the oldest member, already enlisted about 8 months ago and is serving under Korean law.
And J-Hope joined the military about 4 months ago after releasing his solo album Jack In The Box and collaborating with J.Cole.
Suga released his solo album, D-Day, and he recently sold out all of his world tours and ended successfully, and there was a notice that he would soon join the army.
Other four BTS members will also serve in the military and will be reunited in 2025. So they are briefly stopping their eight-year group works and focusing on their solo work. :)
They promised their fan base, ARMY that each of them will grow further through solo projects and come back together in 2025 after completing their military service. :)

It’s great to see a new BTS reaction. Dynamite, as other comments have said, is not your typical BTS song. There are a series of songs BTS released during the pandemic to make the day brighter and to get people dancing and moving again. I’m a 44 year old mom of two and found BTS last year. The amount of songs they have is mind blowing. Their message is always positive, promotes self love and they write/produce the majority of their songs. The all English songs tend to come from other writers, including Ed Sheeran who they have done two songs from him. They’ve been around since 2013 but it’s K-pop, I know in the US, they don’t get a lot of air time, even if the song is in all English, let alone their amazing songs that are in Korean.
I feel like I could go on and on about them and hope you do check out some of their other songs. Welcome to the world of BTS 💜

I am a 56 year old dad of two girls, married and straight. I grew up on 70’s and 80’s rock.
    And I LOVE BTS.
Now, there are three all English songs that they put out in the Covid times that they didn’t write. One is written by Ed Sheeran actually. But they are the least ‘BTS’ songs of all BTS songs.
Since you like J Hope I would react to ‘More’ by him.
Dionysus is a more rock song they did but you would either have to react to a lyric video or see it in a live awards show where it was the last song. Someone can direct you as I can’t remember which one it was; I think MMA 2019 maybe.
RM is the leader and he has an IQ of 148 and is very into art, history and philosophy. BTS has series of albums based off the work of Karl Jung and the persona, ego and shadow of human nature.
Blood Sweat and Tears is a great song, but you’ll need to read an explanation for it or watch an explanation video (this is the case for many of their songs like Baepsae. Sounds like a fun song, but is actually a condemnation of the social structure of South Korea.
And when you get to Spring Day react not only to the video itself, but also watch ‘What you STILL DONT’T KNOW’ by Italian ARMY. It’s in Italian, but has English subtitles. No other explanation video for Spring Day really shows the true detail and heartbreak of what happened (the Sewel Ferry disaster) and how many meaningful details are in the video by BTS.
You’ll find ARMY is tens of millions strong, they are both males and females, of every age.
If you like meaningful lyrics, BTS will interest you. Not every song, but many. And they have a looooot of songs. With solo work, songs they released on SoundCloud for free and album work there is probably over 500 songs now. It’s amazing the variety of genres they cover and the subject matter.

Dynamite is their first all-English song which was released during the height of the global pandemic in August of 2020. It's not as deep as their Korean lyrics. Some western songwriters wrote this for them. It might not be as deep as their Korean lyrics but if you dig deeply into the meaning of the lyrics, the message is clear, stay positive and light your life up like dynamite even in times of great trouble. They want ARMYs to know that life goes on even in the midst of the global pandemic. In fact, this is the first song I've heard from them. This song didn't make me an ARMY, though. If you want some deep lyrics that needs analysis, please react to Fake Love, Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears, Life Goes On. If you want some commentaries on social issues, please react to Dope, Fire, I Need You, No More Dreams, NO. Please don't assume that BTS is just like other typical boy bands because they are not. There are a lot of rock and heavy metal reactors here on YOuTube that started reacting to Dynamite and got disappointed but became a fan of BTS after discovering their discography. Thanks for your honest reaction. Looking forward to more BTS reaction. 48 years old ARMY here watching from China.💜💜💜

Never hurts to stray outside the "norm"...especially when it comes to music! I've got rock, rap, pop, country, and more...in *almost* every language on earth...on my laptop. About the only thing I can't really get into is gospel for some reason, but even in that genre, I do have 2 or 3 songs I like.
Also, yep, not just "young girls". The oldest fan I know of is 92, the youngest was 6 months the first time she heard them (mostly thanks to me, it's my granddaughter...LOL) and started trying to dance to their music. While females do make up the majority of their fans, there are still plenty of every gender represented in the fandom.

The one you said looked like a girl is Jimin he's all man for sure the ages in bts are from 26 to 31. There are 2 members in the military its mandatory in south Korea but their are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists as well. There will be another member going into the military soon he's a rapper suga and in 2025-2026 they will be back as bts and slay again also.

Thank u for reacting to BTS 💜 I also noticed that you're a metalhead from other thumbnails? So if u are looking for that in Kpop, i would recommend ATEEZ n Dreamcatcher. Ateez is a boy group 5 years younger than BTS (all adults, i dont stan minors), n they have a very unique sound that i feel u would vibe to. I recommend u start off with Guerilla & Halazia, no doubt you'd love the storytelling there.
As for Dreamcatcher, they are a girl group older than Ateez, but have brought the rock song to K-pop (bfore them it was very rare, esp in girl groups). Some songs I'll recommend from them are Maison & Scream or Vision to start you off.
    Pls Note:
BTS are the best Lyrically in the Kpop Industry (no cap, even as an Atiny, Monbebe, Ahgase, Stay n Insomnia, I will admit it) the English Songs were put out cuz they were pandering to the US market n after years of being annoyed (let's be honest Armys, they were being annoyed, there's enough interviews online to prove it lol😂) they finally released some singles, which I think won't written by them too? I can't remember, correct me if I'm wrong Armys. Either way, they are just meant for fun n to test the Western media, after years of Xenophobia.
As for BTS Lyrics, I dont even know where to start, they are the best I have seen. I suggest u go through their Map of the Soul 7 Album if you are looking for deep thinking or the Raplines Songs for plays on words & amazing flows. Dont get me started on the vocalist. Jin from BTS' Epiphany found me when shit was really bad 3 yrs ago n lets just say, i needed to hear it.
But, If you are looking for good English Kpop Songs, I recommend Jackson Wang (from Kpop group GOT7) & Monsta X Album- All About Luv.
    Also.
Kpop cannot be a billion dollar industry on little girls (ps, I have my own online business n work from home as an adult, I've been a kpop fan for 3 years now). Kpop Groups n Idols have sponsors like Mercedes Benz, Yves Saint Laurent, Balmain, Samsung n Hyundai to name a FEW. As far as im aware, teenagers cant buy a Mercedes or a $1000 dollar phone/$4000 dollar outfits from Balmain/YSL.
Also, you mentioned their perfect looks, yes Kpop (mostly Korea ngl) can be toxic when it comes to beauty, to even whitewashing the Idols tan skin (Like Namjoon (the green haired rapper) in this Video for example n I think JK too(the dark haired singer).
International Fans however encourage Kpop Idols to show "flaws" these days, so many Idols try to. But because of the toxic culture in Korea (as well as the companies they are under being strict) its a bit harder.
thankfully, groups like Ateez n BTS know that the International Fans love their natural looks n will go as far as letting birthmarks not be covered up (Example Yeosang from Ateez, he has a big one on his right temple that we adore & JK shows his Tattoos more these days while before they were blurred or he had to wear long sleeves) They only really do the perfect looks for music videos n interviews.
Yes, Jimin is Beautiful (the one that looks like a girl), Kpop tends to break a lot of gender stereotypes too, so expect some very stunning beings in very unique clothing n performances (we love it tho).
Also, I hope this didn't come off as aggressive, I was quickly typing as I'm doing work as well lol n when I reread it, it may have sounded mean😭
Hope you have fun this on the Kpop Journey n give Ateez or Dreamcatcher a chance too🤍

Anyway, I am middle aged and have been a fan since 2017. I love their message and what they stand for that is why I am a big fan. And they are very talented. This particular song they did t write themselves but 99% of their work they took part in it. BTS' fandom is diverse, different age groups and from all races.

Your comments were full of stereotypes and prejudices about what Kpop sounds like, what age the fans are, and how they look and act. Don't make them look bulletproof. They have scars on faces, moles and tattoos and the first guy is a milk addict, so I don't get what your commentary was about
