i want you to know that at the last concert of his tour this year that was right after the release of the album that contains amygdala he actually walked through the exact white door, smiling and waving to the audience, at peace. it was a surprise set, only there for the very last minute of the whole tour, so it was a very special ending of a story, a closure, a reassurance that yoongi is doing well in amygdala lyrics he says "The neverending trials failed to kill me, and once again I bloom a lotus flower", but the theme of blooming was in his art even before that. "dream. may your trials end in full bloom" is a line from his 2018 song So Far Away and he brough back that line and that whole verse to his new song Snooze, the one on the same album as Amygdala. it's a beautiful metaphor as "lotus flower symbolises rebirth, purification of the soul. blooming in muddy and swampy areas, the lotus flower represents escape from adverse conditions. the lotus plant has its roots firmly planted in the soil underneath the dirty water, but its flowers always find their way to the surface, where the sun shines. every night, the flower closes and sinks into the darkness of the water. every morning, it finds its way back to the surface, towards the light and it blooms again - completely clean, without a trace of the dirt around it." (from @jessikatsu on twt, i loved this explanation)
your words about being your own enemy.. read what yoongi said "It’s part of the treatment to bring back bad memories from your past and learn to control those memories. while finishing up this album, i also thought a bit about why i was making this album. and i even if i try, i cant change the past. and you need to forgive yourself. and for the past that's bothered me, i needed to forgive myself. and that's why the title is d-day. it was a time for me to be able to organize my past and what made me who I am now. In a way, we're responsible for all our own wounds and scars. No one can dodge the first arrow of trouble, of course, but when that second arrow flies at you, you've chosen to just stand there and get hit, rather than learn from the first time.”
Amygdala is his story, everything that happened to him. He dealt with so many struggles. His accident happened a long time ago, if I’m not mistaken he was a trainee, or it was in BTS’ very early days, I don’t remember much. It was very hard for him, he tried to hide it but eventually he had to tell the company. He only had surgery in 2020 to fix his shoulder
In Daechwita he does have a turning arc.... the in the last verse he says "here comes my reality check, I want to look down and put my feet on the ground"... meaning he needs to stay humble so he killed the arrogant king but the song also doubles as a diss track to the "pill popping rappers". Yoongi has a very intense, life story which he lets bleed out in his music, you've seen a preview of it with Amygdala but I urge you to also listen to "The Last", that's the genesis of his story.
In Amygdala we see the things that were personal experience things that happened to him the accident was far worse than in the MV he only had it completely sorted in the Covid period and had to have a shoulder operation. As at the time of the accident he never got the proper treatment and lied about the accident because of his fear of getting into trouble for working a part time job while a trainee and not being able to debut with BTS. Over the years his damaged shoulder got very much worse because he didn't get the right treatment and was doing hard choreography and was constantly in pain. Oh he relieved his friendship tattoo finally at the last day of his solo concert it's on his shoulder next to the Scar from his shoulder surgery and he finally walked through that door at the end of that finale solo concert tour.
i remember your first review about bts after hearing dynamite now look at you dear you are crying watching them ,this what bts does to you, welcome to the fandom new army
You did a really good job breaking down the symbolism in these. His 3 albums as Agust D, if listened to in order, do a great job showing how far he’s come mentally. Self titled is best summed up as anger, “D2” is him trying to kill off that side of him, and D-Day is the acceptance that he needed to dissect his intrusive thoughts and trauma to find the roots in order to finally heal. You mentioned wanting to possibly react to his D-Day concert and I highly recommend watching the last date because he tied everything up in that one. I have a link to it if you decide you want it 💜
There are explanation video's for SUGA's trilogy, if you want to know the depth of the meaning to these songs honestly check them out. I had to when i first heard them, at the end of his tour the door for the AMYGDALA video was on the stage and he walked through it, to let ARMY know that he's ok now he buried his demon's, All the lyric's in AMYGDALA are true but his mum and dad are ok, they recovered from their illnesses 💜🔥🖤
You are correct in that all of these are about conquering yourself, the you who is your own worse enemy. The scar in each video is an outward representation of his inner anger and pain. He does move past it. If you can find the clip of his last concert where he walks thru the door at the end you will see how he finally makes peace with his inner self. I love all three members of the BTS rap line but Yoongi speaks to me the most because of the way he expresses his art. RM raps and writes with words, his thoughts, the things that are in his mind. He wants you to think about where you are. J-Hope raps and writes with his body and movement in mind. He wants you to move into a hopeful place . Suga raps and writes with his soul. He wants you to feel in the depth of who you are. There is a saying that every human is made up of three things and they all must be in balance for us to function well. We need our mind, body and soul all in alignment. The rap line of BTS is the manifestation of all of those things and I think that is why BTS is often healing for people . They align us. :)
Daechwita is a traditional Korean march, played for political events at the time of kings, army or king movements, etc. The two characters are Suga Rei and Sugar from the lower class. Ruler Suga is a tyrant who kills people who have grievances or are considered opponents. Suga from the lower class, appears with six friends (BTS mention) and there is also a woman sitting in the tent, who gives him the car keys (Army mention). Poor Sugar starts the revolution by going with the car to face the tyrant Suga. We also see the drawing of Bang Si-hyuk, ('creator' of BTS), at the moment that poor Suga arrives by car to face the tyrant king. He challenges the system. Metaphor: the lower class 'overthrowing the system', mentions BTS that started as a small group, discriminated against, from a small bankrupt company, which was despised and disdained, but which ended up becoming the biggest Korean group in kpop, true kings about the game. At the time of the dynasties there was a strong separation between social classes and slaves were considered nothing. The poor would never become part of the elite. Today BTS is the elite, but it was a difficult achievement, with a lot of 'blood, sweat and tears'. And who gave them the 'key' to start the revolution was the Army. BTS 'brought down' the dominant system of the Korean music industry, as they continue to do until now, breaking down the arrogance and prejudice of the world's music industry. th-cam.com/video/JayEtmyXVpo/w-d-xo.html - explanation
"open the door" really got me... thanks for doing this. if you want to see the end of this, you can watch the last day of his concerts. i saw other people already told you but he (finally) walks through the door...
In daechwita the executioner is actually the butcher that you see in the first scene just before the fight (fun fact it's Jin and JK who make a cameo in this scene) August d stops in front of him and gives him a small discreet nod sealing their agreement to kill the king. In this MV the king represents the old August d who was full of anger.
Thank you for pointing this out! Not enough people notice that part. I wanna add, the man on the phone that he nods to when he steals the money in Heageum is the one who gives him the gun while he’s drowning him.
for "amygdala" first of all I reassure you these parents are fine today. When he was born his mother had heart problems and had an operation. She was too weak afterwards to take care of a newborn so her grandmother raised him for the first few months. About his father I don't really know but he is doing well today. for his accident it happened during these training years he had a part-time delivery job and was hit by a car. He didn't say it at the time because he wasn't supposed to have a job and he was afraid the agency would fire him. He suffered for many years with his shoulder because of this and finally in 2020 he had surgery. It was so painful that lately he apparently couldn't hold a simple bottle of water.
If you want to see the door opened you should watch the last day performance of his world tour. His parents are now OK. The accident was an actual event about the time of their debut. His shoulder (not eye) was crushed and posibly dislocated? At the time he was so anxious that he would be thrown off the team for having a serious injury and for having broken his training rules, so he said he had injured it falling down the stairs. So he didn't get hospital treatment and it didn't heal well. He suffered with it for years and had to take painkillers to train and perform. Eventually it siezed up so much that he couldn't continue to use it at all. At that time he told what had happened and had to take some months off to get surgery and recover.
I'm crying with you. Yoongi akways gets me right in the feels. His last concert was so emotional and when he went through the door at the end I lost my shit completely. On another note I always see the tallneck in the back of the video and forget to comment we have one also. My husband loves that game. And I love your plants in the background 😂 yay for 2 new leaves coming through 🌱
the accident in the mv really happened to him when he was a trainee and worked as a delivery guy to earn for living and collage he didn't tell the company right away how badly it injured his shoulder because he was afraid he would be cut from the team (when the label got to know about it they paid for his education). but the damage was done and the injury bothered him from then on, the pain was getting worse to the point where he couldn't lift his arm on a bad day and had to get injections before the concerts the accident impacted his life a lot, and the trauma it brought is reflected in a lot of yoongi's songs in 2020 he decided to undergo a surgery, which left him out of end year shows and recent album promotions for a few months, but the boys supported him all the was through it, always mentioning him on livestreams and even award speeches, calling him, leaving his place in the dance formations empty as well as not taking over his rap parts as a way to show he can't be replaced while he's away all bts members got a "7" friendship tattoo around a year ago, but yoongi refused to show it to us and was having great fun with teasing us about it all the time lol. on the last concert of the tour for d-day album yoongi revealed the tattoo and it was right where the scars from the surgery are. i tell you i cried. what a way to say to himself and to others that he has healed inside and outside
I know, this is super sad. I cried so hard when seeing it for the first time, especially knowing the things about for example his accident and his trauma. When he opened that door, turned around and waved, and walked through it in his final concert, after always walking off the stage without looking back for the whole tour, that moment broke the whole fandom. It was so meaningful and cathartic and it can assure us that he is truly better now, that he truly overcame a lot of what he dealt with in Amygdala. This was a great reaction, you pick up on a lot of things and you are very good at understanding the concepts and thoughts behind it! Makes me think you would enjoy and do well in delving into the BU somewhere further down the line :) (BU = Bangtan Universe = fictional storyline running through a lot of BTS videos, super deep, super intense)
the idk your name can also be him talking to himself as he doesnt recognize himself or it can also be the person who hit him as he was in a hit and run accident which hurt his shoulder badly.
So Amygdala part ... To answer, yes his parents are ok from what we know. Hmm his mother had heart surgery after he was born so he was small, he had to stay with grandparents, etc, he said it in some very old interview, and heart stuff always has to be monitored so it is simply in his family live from then. About his father we didn't know, we get to know bc of this song. He has now very goid realationship with his parents, when he was teen is was hard bc tyey thought music isn't good path to follow, but all in past. He has older brother that always had his back sooo... With accitent he didn't talk, he was delivery boy before BTS debute, they didn't have money and were always low in food and etc, and him as second oldest, worked, to have some money. He was delivering food on scooter (like in MV) and was hit by car and his shoulder got most impact, he tried wirk thro pain etc bc he didn't want to lose job and be cut from BTS bc of in but he had to come ckean and company helped him but it was to late for medical help bc it healed on it own in that time. He for 7 years was performing with this arm that hurt offten, it get so bad that he had to get shots of painkillers in his bad arm before concerts bc he couldn't move it, before surgery he literally couldn't pick up bottel of water. There was concert that we as fans saw his arm give up on him and he simply put hand in pocked and still performed with literally not working arm, so yeah it was accident that impacted his live very much and was very scary... And his surgery in 2020 couldn't be out out anymore bc "Black swan" choreo totally destroyed his arm to end. He also in different songs raps a lot about his mental state in different times in live, and how he saw world and wgat was in his head. He said it was "polutted", and yeah from what we know from songs it was all hard. So there is a lot of trauma that he had to heal from and his music is a form of therapy for him to finally free himself.
Yes, his guardians are alive. Yes, he really worked in delivery and had an accident. He had surgery on his shoulder. He had a tour and at the final concert there was this song, there was this door on stage and he opened it.But this concert 😭😢💔Thanks for your reaction 🥺💜
Do not apologize for an emotional reaction to Yoongi music! It is his art, his way of sharing his personal story and I think if you feel a lot of emotions when you listen to to it, it is a good thing. Actually, there is a lot of additional content around Yoongi mixtapes and albums which help build a bigger and more complex picture of what his story is about. Long story short (please, keep in mind I simplify everything strongly here) - Agust D is Yoongi's persona that he "uses" when he approaches certain topics. It was there when he was frustrated and angry when he was sad and in pain. He is showing us how some scars come from within (you can see that the scars are most visible in King in Daechwita and slowly heal every time Agust D kills his previous self). Basically, all of his albums under Agust D tell a story about overcoming difficulties and I think if you checked it in order you would feel incredibly proud while listening to a few songs from his last mixtape. And the peak of it? Yoongi solo tour. He basically recreated Amygdala room, went through all the past memories with us to finally leave the room through the white door on the last concert. It was peak of storytelling to me.
Summary of the trilogy starting with the prequel, Amygdala. This is the part of the brain which controls the way we process trauma. He is saying he is stuck in that processing, reliving all the traumas. They are from his real life but you will be pleased to hear that his mum and das made full recoveries. The accident was during his trainee days just befor debut. He had several part time jobs during this time just to make ends meet. As a delivery driver he had an accident that smashed up his shoulder but was afraid the company would drop him from BTS if they found out so he kept quiet with the pain. He also suffered from social anxiety and depression, and has mentioned before that he had tried to commit su**ide. To help him through these traumas that gave him his netaphorical scar across his eye, he created the Agust D character to voice thise parts of himself. On to Daechwita. The mad king character is the old version of himself, angry and greedy, who just wanted to be the best and make money (he grew up very poor). The more modern version of himself wirh his 6 gang members representing BTS members, is more recent. Now he is successful and has money he realises that itcis not everything and with BTS and ARMYs support he can be a better person. In the MV, he makes a deal with the butcher, also the executioner, who frees him and provides him with the gun, a Colt Army 1860 model, to succeed in the coup to shoot the mad king, the greedy version of himself. Dies he succeed, we do not know. It appears not as it is a cycle. In Haegeum, this version of himself becomes a corrupt greedy cop, shackled by greed and capitalism. The free version of him seems bad at the start but is destroying the bad cop's businesses supported by 6 gang members again. He once again makes a deal with one of the cop's men who hides a gun in the barrel enabling him to kill the corrupt side of himself again. We see the dead body this time. He no longer has a scar but at the end his hair falls across his eye in the same way as the scar. Is the cycle finished or not? I think Suga is telling us that he has come to terms with his traumas and feels healed but he is wary of his greedy side resurfacing. For now he is at peace. He finished off the concert by walking through the Amygdala door. Min Yoongi is an amazing artist. I cannot wait to see what music he brings after his military service. Great reaction 💜
The lyrics have a duality. There are 2 Sugas like in Haegeum. Suga that represents the authority figure the corrupt system. Suga the rebel leader fighting the system with the help of the people he rouses with the beat. All 3 of the trilogy is about overcoming barriers or blocks . Daechwita is proffessional, Haegeum societal and AMYGDALA personal. His mother and father are alive. Suga has mentioned in other lyrics he wasn't loved enough as a child. If his mother was ill when he was a baby it could have created parental attachment problems. The trauma of his accident and his father's liver cancer occurring during that really intense training period where he was hardly sleeping and in pain. He must have had something like ptsd. No wonder he suffered from periods of depression. Hiding his pain. He openedd the white door at the end of his last concert.
don’t you worry…he was able to get through out the door at his finale concert..and he smiled..he is happy. he is in a happier mental space right now. He have accepted all these three names as one . thank you for your reaction.
I love how well you picked up on that..How even though he got rid of the very worst a part was still bad, even at the end of Haegum if you notice when he gets out of the police car at the noodle restaurant he has the suit jacket of the crime boss..Try as hard as you can you cant be completely free of your darkness..You have to accept it ..
I don't really listen to rap before BTS, so I only learned afterwards that there's a category of songs that's called diss tracks, where a rapper verbally attack his rivals. These songs usually include boasts and insults. BTS has several diss tracks, especially the rap line, addressing Korean rappers who looked down on them and disrespected them because they joined an idol group, and later on addressing their haters. So saying that you're a better rapper (or that you're a king) in diss tracks is very much in line with the purpose of the songs. From other YT reactions to BTS's diss tracks, I gathered that Western diss tracks usually boasts about wealth and girls and other material things, but BTS usually boasts about their hard work and their rapping skills and their achievements (though sometimes they also mention the material side of success).
Daechwita is not about arrogance, it's literally a diss track and suga flexing on all the haters out there , people who doubt him from the starts, the korean music industry who always look down on BTS, and the underground rappers that called him a sellout and disrespect his skill as a rapper just because he join an idol group, all this has been a long history of what BTS has to endure since 2013 and still until this day, the xenophobia from western music never stops, so daechwita song is to shut them hell up, and prove them that Suga and BTS is actually doing okay despite all those hardships... and as the only member with a savage nature he made this song, and also his other song in his Agust'd, D2 and D day album are basically his words, his story and how he handle all his situations.... he always be true to himself
I only wached Daechwita part, but I paused to comment so it dosen't get lost in rest of my thoghts... So if you are talking about character he plays in Daechwita The king - blond guy, yeah he is arrogand and angry and selfish, ect, he is playing mad king so literally that his character... But if you talk about lyrics in a way that there is arrogance in them then, no, there isn't. Like everything he said is true, this is diss track to music industry and rap community. He (and members) got so much hate before so he by saing this thing he say f* you to all this. Like pill popers tgat put on sh*tshows - literally there is so much rappers that do drugs bc it gives them inspiration, or they can't write or perform if they don't have help by using things, also he say they don't have game bc thry do music but don't really have skills, so he is saing only facts, he isn't like that, the part about his time is worth more then money and people that say different have stick in ass bc they focus only on money and showing off and he is ok to split them in face, yeah, also clear true bc of course time is worth more then money, and of course everyone want to have money and to get it you have to put work wich is time in the end, but he simply saying that he values his time more then money, you will never get back time, so do in your time what you think is worth it, and hating, doing drugs, or laughting at anothers, or gossiping, is not something he wants to do with his time, and reality is like that tgst a lot of so called artist do this and they put mysic snd there is only hate or money and wanting more money ir drugs, sex, womens, etc... So still noring arrogand in this lyrics, and yeas he say he us the king and boss, but it is in a way true, bc he and his band are on top, they are number one, they were called a lot if names, and in diss track of course you shiw dominance, it isn't arrogant it is honestly with sarcasm and you have to be confident to out diss track. Simple. And second he plays the king and the boss, so it also fits with MV. Yeah so you in theiry got the vibe he was giving, but lyrics hmm I don't thing you fully get.
He walked out that door at the last show of the tour! He closed this cycle and is now fine, don't worry about it!
Thats so cool! Good to hear too
He went through the whole circle each concert of his d-day tour and finally walked through this door in his last concert. 💜

Just stating facts and knowing his worth😏 but he recognizes how to balance ego and humility

He’s got a huge ability to make you think deeply and reflect. We were all traumatized by Amgydala. 💜💜💜. Well done looking at all 3!
And I love your plants in the background 😂 yay for 2 new leaves coming through 🌱
Thanks!! the tallneck was so much fun to build haha and yesss the plant is thriving!!
the accident in the mv really happened to him when he was a trainee and worked as a delivery guy to earn for living and collage he didn't tell the company right away how badly it injured his shoulder because he was afraid he would be cut from the team (when the label got to know about it they paid for his education). but the damage was done and the injury bothered him from then on, the pain was getting worse to the point where he couldn't lift his arm on a bad day and had to get injections before the concerts
the accident impacted his life a lot, and the trauma it brought is reflected in a lot of yoongi's songs
in 2020 he decided to undergo a surgery, which left him out of end year shows and recent album promotions for a few months, but the boys supported him all the was through it, always mentioning him on livestreams and even award speeches, calling him, leaving his place in the dance formations empty as well as not taking over his rap parts as a way to show he can't be replaced while he's away
all bts members got a "7" friendship tattoo around a year ago, but yoongi refused to show it to us and was having great fun with teasing us about it all the time lol. on the last concert of the tour for d-day album yoongi revealed the tattoo and it was right where the scars from the surgery are. i tell you i cried. what a way to say to himself and to others that he has healed inside and outside
Oh if you watch the last day of his D-Day tour....It's AMAZING. But be prepared to cry your eyes out. No joke.
I miss yoongi.
So Amygdala part ... To answer, yes his parents are ok from what we know. Hmm
his mother had heart surgery after he was born so he was small, he had to stay with grandparents, etc, he said it in some very old interview, and heart stuff always has to be monitored so it is simply in his family live from then.
BTS solo and collaboration songs: 1)Jin: Abyss, Tonight, Moon lyric, Awake live, Rm: Still live, Lonely, Smoke sprite, Seoul, Persona live, Suga: Agust D, That that, Snooze, Seesaw, J-Hope: Daydream, Ego, Chicken Noodle Soup, Rush hour, Jimin: Lie, Serendipity, Angel Pt, Vibe, Promise, V: Winter bear, Inner child, Singularity,Sweet Night, Christmas Tree, Jungkook : Begin, Dreamers, Still with you, Left and Right, Stay Alive,
Yes, his guardians are alive. Yes, he really worked in delivery and had an accident. He had surgery on his shoulder. He had a tour and at the final concert there was this song, there was this door on stage and he opened it.But this concert 😭😢💔Thanks for your reaction 🥺💜
You should watch The Last, it’s a prelude to amygdala imo and is all about Suga’s real life
Do not apologize for an emotional reaction to Yoongi music!
I think you would love agust d song name "snooze" is from his last album
At the fair, the ones who bump into Suga and then fight in the back are Jin and Jungkook, in a special appearance.
don’t you worry…he was able to get through out the door at his finale concert..and he smiled..he is happy. he is in a happier mental space right now.
5:33 there was my reaction too, and there is a video of him practicing the sword dance and I love it
I was looking forward to this video! Brazil here!
Daechwita is not about arrogance, it's literally a diss track and suga flexing on all the haters out there , people who doubt him from the starts, the korean music industry who always look down on BTS, and the underground rappers that called him a sellout and disrespect his skill as a rapper just because he join an idol group, all this has been a long history of what BTS has to endure since 2013 and still until this day, the xenophobia from western music never stops, so daechwita song is to shut them hell up, and prove them that Suga and BTS is actually doing okay despite all those hardships... and as the only member with a savage nature he made this song, and also his other song in his Agust'd, D2 and D day album are basically his words, his story and how he handle all his situations.... he always be true to himself
you should react to his song THE LAST. the lyrics are just amazing of that song
There's a reason why Min Yoongi's my bias. And did you catch the cameo appearance of the maknae JK punching the hyung Jin? 🤣
Amygdala tells what happened, his accident and many things that were difficult for him
Watch Nevermind/The Last from D Day The Encore Day Three - that is the ending of this story.
hey, recomendo muito você ouvir o primeiro álbum dele, chamado AGUST D, principalmente a música The Last!!
Hello, I love your reactions to Bts.. please react to Agustd's last concert tour D-Day.. and you will find the answer to the trilogy of their videos..
Nahhhh Daechwita is about killing the old music industry
