No More Dream was their debut song -- the message of "Dream" was meant to bring it around all these years later. :)

So glad you decided to watch more. It is so disappointing for ARMY when reactors just see Dynamite and think that is their typical music/lyrics. But...also very rewarding when they discover ot is not true. Great reaction so subbing now to see more. There is an alternative MV to this song too called ON:Kinetic Manifesto. If you want to see how good their dancing is I recommend you watch that too.

As a person who really likes rock, I recommend tomorrow, which is one of their many songs written by them and produced by Suga, and talking about suga or agust D (his name for his solo work) I recommend snozze, burn it and the last, the guys are very talented writing and producing I hope you can discover the incredible messages they have in their lyrics, sorry for my english I had to translate it

They have 3 songs in English that we call the Pandemic songs. They were all released during the pandemic purely to make people feel good during a bad time. Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance were all released during that time and did just that. They made us dance and gave us some happy moments during a depressing time.

LOL, I wouldn't say ON is a metal selection at all.
They never go full metal, but they do have more rock-vibe songs like Dionysus and Persona (a solo by RM no their album Map of the Soul). And one of their bigger hit songs, Fake Love, is more guitar driven in much of the song.
J-hope (another member) has some songs out that are a little more rock/rap like More and Arson.

omg i instantly subbed. i just know the more you watch bts the more youll love them. i just think you gotta forget anything you know about boybands or what you heard of kpop in news or by other people.
bts started from nothing they at one point all 7 slept in 1 bedroom with bunk beds and their label was very broke close to bankrupt that they even told the guys to go home because they dont have money to debut. bts pushed and said we cant go home this is our only shot so the ceo did everything he could to get them to debut. bts even worked as background dancers for other artists to make some money. they were 15 - 20 at the time of debut in 2013.
what most dont understand is while the music may not be metal in sound most of the time the vibes, the message of the music the attitude of the members the determination the fight for some kind of change all found within metal is also found in bts.
majority of bts music is deep in social commentary especially on issues involving their country and culture. bts write it themselves and some members even produce and compose. also all seven members have successful solo careers while still being in the group another thing that sets them a part from western boybands is they dont feel the need to break up to be solo artists. theres no ego or jealousy they genuinely love each other like family and root for each others success. they do ALL genres but majority hip hop, r&b and pop are their go to's but we cant box them into those 3 cause they can release whatever they want they have no creative restrictions. (they have no kpop rules either you may have heard of kpop idols being controlled not allowed to curse, date, drink, get tattoos, smoke cigs etc etc but bts are allowed to do all of that and have done all of that before. they all have tattoos, one member has a whole sleeve. 2 members that we know of smoke, they all drink and even go live while drinking and get drunk. we know they date but they dont talk about it but theres hints in their music since their music is so real and based on their lives, experiences, opinions about society etc their "love" songs are very genuine and realistic. we respect their privacy since theyre already so open with us but its obvious they date and never had any restrictions from dating. and the cursing they curse a lot in music but if you dont know korean you miss a lot of their curses sometimes they curse in english though) my point is what the media says about them is lies to keep people from knowing the truth about them which is they succeeded when they shouldnt have. had everything stacked against them and got big with NO industry support not in korea and not in the west so media and music industry doesnt like them showing indie artists that its possible to get very far without having to sign with a major label. bts are still not signed in america and their label is basically run by them because they built it with their success.
they were almost blacklisted for performing a protest song on live tv as well as supporting victims of a tragic event when the government was trying to cover it up. they also donated half of their yearly earnings to the victims families even though they were broke and could use the money too.
always risked it all for what they believe in.
so many dont understand think of bts as 7 Michael Jacksons but the music meaning is like Rage Against The Machine.
im also a metalhead (tbh i listen to everything but rock/metal/hip hop was my main genre before i found bts)
and if you took away the dancing, good looks, high budget etc bts would still be on par with the most legendary artists for their lyrics and music production alone.
heres some songs to react to :
    not today music video
baepsae lyrics video aka silver spoon also the baepsae explained by dkdktv
spring day music video and what you still dont know about bts spring day by italian army
    paradise lyrics video
    rain lyrics video
polar night lyrics video agust d aka suga of bts
    more music video by jhope
    all day lyrics video RM
set me free part 2 music video by jimin
for us music video by V
stay alive lyrics video by jungkook (prod suga)
the astronaut music video by Jin
for the lyrics videos use aftaehyung or dial six one three seven or enjoy btsmore channels never use jae gu chi or lem or ing those two channels mistranslate. if you have any questions let me know :)

    Thanks for your reaction 😊
BTS had its beginnings being more hip hop... over time it diversified handling genres such as: R&B, Pop, EDM, Rock, Jazz. So to me all their songs are different
There are many songs that you enjoy a lot with the beat they have, even without understanding their meaning, but there are other songs that are better appreciated when we know what BTS wants to convey with their lyrics, so that's why Army usually insists on paying attention to the lyrics. Although not all of the group's songs have a deep meaning, there are also songs that are just to brighten our mood, that are just for fun... but if you pay attention to the lyrics you will realize that in several of their songs more "lively" have a reflective message where they criticize a social issue (like Bapsae, Anpanman, Go go, spine breaker, etc)
Let me give you some suggestions for your consideration for future reactions:
    • "Black Swan":
The “Black Swan” performances represent BTS acknowledging their deepest fears and choosing instead to use those fears to grow creatively.
The song was inspired by Martha Graham's phrase: "a dancer dies twice - when he stops dancing, and this death is the most painful"
The song refers to the internal struggle of an artist falling out of love with their art. The song lends voice to the band’s darkest fears-the music they do will one day cease to touch or move them. Yet, every time they come face to face with this “Black swan” within themselves, they hear voices calling out from deep within their hearts and are stricken with the realization that music is all they have. This track is a confession of an artist who has truly learned what music means to himself.
At the same time, it represents the hope and internal strength that we must have to hold on to what has made us feel alive at some time, not to give up, only we will be able to face our shadows and stop being our worst enemy.
    th-cam.com/video/0lapF4DQPKQ/w-d-xo.html
    • "Fake Love": the lyrics signify the desperation of staying in a relationship that no longer has any love and happiness left in it. With the song’s lyrics focusing on deception and angst, BTS essentially is trying to convey the message that it’s better to let go of a fake relationship that holds no value. It can affect individuals negatively, leading them to feel trapped, useless and powerless. The song also encourages individuals to understand themselves better and not pretend to be someone they’re not. Is a reminder that real love starts with self-love - loving and accepting oneself for who they truly are.
The MV has a lot of simbolisms, many of them about the BU (Bangtan Universe, the paralel story that goes through several BTS MV)
    th-cam.com/video/7C2z4GqqS5E/w-d-xo.html
    • "Film Out": the title of the song directly references film cameras. When a camera hits the limit of exposures on a film roll, the film is out and needs to get processed in order to obtain the photos that were taken. With such restrictions, people try their best to take the best pictures to capture the most beautiful moments in life since a film roll contains a limited number of exposures. Unfortunately, not every moment can be captured because the exposures eventually run out. The title also implies that the limit of the film roll has been reached and all that’s left are the memories inside the film roll. However, another meaning of the song title is that a person shouldn’t limit themselves or else they’ll miss out on the important and beautiful things in life because life is made up of experiences.
    th-cam.com/video/zFT3f9biz68/w-d-xo.html
    • "Louther than bombs": this is one of my favorites songs from the group but it doesn't have a music video or a live performance... Is just the color coded lyrics video but the vocals, the lyrics, the beat, the rap in the song to my are so dope
Based on the introduction of what RM has shared to us in a past broadcast of him, the song tells a story of how sadness and fear grow as a person encounters pain/struggles in life. He particularly shared about relating to ARMYs letters, comments and posts in social media who expressed themselves when feeling down and seeking comfort and being grateful to BTS as they became a huge role to motivate strength, acceptance and love. He imagined that during concert tours, fans share the fun with them but he realized that beyond those faces are fragile lives who have different stories to tell and fans count on their songs and presence. As for BTS, who encourages everyone to ''speak yourself/ourselves" (from their voices of reasons in many ways) the message or rather, main inspiration of the song is that, they are going to continue to listen to our stories and will never stop singing for us, while we speak ourselves.
Personally, it transmits to me the power of resilience, how you can break when everything gets difficult and uphill but you can be stronger than that, as they say: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger... and in the end, your voice and your spirit must be stronger than that. It is a reminder that we are not alone, that there is someone who feels and understands our pain, that it is for this very reason that we must continue forward with determination, having the support of others... It is a recognition from BTS to their fans for giving them strength with his love in the face of bad times and vice versa.
    th-cam.com/video/BVzTBj2O6Dc/w-d-xo.html
    • "Blood, Sweat & Tears": the video is inspired by Hermann Hesse's book, "Demian" The 1919 novel tells a story of a boy who fluctuates between the "world of light" and "world of illusion"
This song is part of the Wings Album. The entire album is inspired by the novel Demian: Emil Sinclair's Youth Story, by Hermann Hesse. The novel recounts Sinclair's passage from childhood to maturity, going through moments of dreams, lies and destruction. It reflects the transition from innocence to falling into the temptation of adulthood
    th-cam.com/video/hmE9f-TEutc/w-d-xo.html
    And other suggestions...
    • RUN BTS dance practice (there is not official MV for this song but the Dance practice is so good!)
    th-cam.com/video/aqW4xXUgmno/w-d-xo.html
There is also a live performance...
    • RUN BTS - Busan Concert
    th-cam.com/video/Cb70gcTVvYI/w-d-xo.html
    • Danger - Live
    th-cam.com/video/F0mzCto8uGs/w-d-xo.html
    • Jump - Live
    th-cam.com/video/d7t0R4iY88k/w-d-xo.html
From their solo songs I recommend:
    The 3 rappers
-Jhope: Arson and More (Official MV)
-Suga: interlude Shadow and Amygdala (official MV)
-RM: Wild flower and Persona (official MV's)
    Vocal line
-Jin: The Astronaut (MV) and Epiphany (Live)
-Jimin: Like Crazy and Set Me Free (official MV)
-Jungkook: Euphoria and My time (Live performances)
    - V: Slow Dancing and Rainy Days (Official MV) .. he is more Jazzy
    Regards from México

BTS is at the very top of the global music industry for a reason - ironically by playing against their rules. That is possible thanks to us - ARMY - as we are credited with 50% of their success.
With "On" we are on the "Map of the Soul" - a book about Carl Jung's psychological theories and the title of two of BTS albums: "MOTS: Persona" and "MOTS: 7" (they decided that a shadow album would have been too dark and added the ego part)
    They do amazing concept work!
The era before this was called "Love Yourself" era and very complex - BTS is telling among other things a story of coming of age under different aspects through their whole work - but to "love yourself" you need to "know yourself": psychology.
The albums are connected by "Intro: Persona" (RM describing the difference between himself and the way others see him; who we appear to be to others), "Interlude: Shadow" (Suga about his fear from the consequences of his success; the part of ourself that we hide in the unconscious as we ourself can't accept it) and "Oturo: Ego" (J-Hope admitting that his past was probably hurtfull but he looks for his future with confidence his way; the unity of both as close as possible to the "true self" if we aknowledge the shadow). All three on the samples of their old songs.
All song on the albums are connected to this theme - BTS do concept albums. "Boy with Luv" (with Halsey) connected to the Persona of who they appear to be (also an answer to an old song called "Boy in Luv"). "Black Swan" was an exploration of their biggest fear as artists: the fear of the death of passion for their art - their first death.
"On" begins with the aftermath with the first clash with the shadow - it's an inner fight. The singers are bruised by it. But to archieve "true self" to be able to "love yourself" they have to do what hurts: bring the "shadow" from the unconsciousness to the consciousness and accept it.
Have you ever thought about what keep you up at night/makes you sleep bad/can't accept about yourself?
The thing is it is still part of you and denying it won't make it go away. So BTS fights in the dancebreak, succeeds, the land/they themseves comes to life and they run up the mountain - a story that is very much their own.
You can see "On" as a turn on their third MV "N.O." and "No More Dream" was their debut song (both have good subtitles on the channel 1theK). When they started with a world that didn't allow for dreams they are now asking people to dream/to become themselves how they want to be/to create their own future/to archieve individuation.
Taylor Mari has made a short intro called the Bangtan 7.
You want more context about everything including numbers and how everything/the industry works?
"The Rise of Bangtan" (the bonus is funny, too; each chapter is themed and introduces a lot of context)
otherwise I'd try bby gang mag's video essays for example:
    - BTS vs. K-pop (has a section about what K-pop even is and the music history of South Korea)
    - you are wrong about K-pop (there are so many negative narratives about it so he has a whole series on that)
    - BTS: More than K-pop (why is BTS the success story when they shouldn't be; what is the difference/new)
    Thank you for your reaction!
    You nice! Keep going! 💜

Welcome on the best journey of your life - discovering BTS. Their music videos are very complex and layered, so if available I recommend you watch the explanation videos as well. ARMY's are used to - and actually appreciate longer reactions, so don't worry about that. I am an 46 yrs old ARMY, discovered them a year ago, when I was in a very dark place, but they pulled me out and help me every day, for which I'll be eternally greatful. Love these 7 amazing humans, extremely talented musicians and performers but most important - people worth to follow and look up to.

I loved this video so much, reactions are always appreciated, I am a metalhead, I'm not as much into it anymore because kpop grabbed me and locked me in with it but I recommend Stray Kids as their music is recognized as "Noisy", which I don't think it is, I think it's perfect for me, but I think you should listen to Maniac, which is what got me fully into kpop, Thunderous (it's from their album 'No easy' the name is supposed to be a word play on Noisy) and S-Class which is one of their newest songs. Anyways these are the song that get most people into them.

In the K-pop idol boundary, Dreamcatcher is almost the only group that consistently introduces rock sounds into their main titles. I recommend Dreamcatcher’s Chase Me and Good Night.

Since you are a metal head I would recommend Run BTS. But there is no official MV. There is a color coded lyric video. I will link it below.

Sorry, too negative and judgemental for me. Really wanted to enjoy your reactions.

How was it judgmental? She really didn't even say anything negative about the song and actually said that she liked it
