If you are pushing the arm up from the shock attachment point with the gearbox jack you will not be able to raise the arm to the final resting position with wheels on the ground. You have to raise it from the disc brake(be sure to tight the lugs first) or better, from the end of the hub! Keep in mind that the force required goes up with the square (both leverage and lower spring travel!!!!) of the distance by moving the lifting point from the wheel towards the main bushing!! You lift from 0.6 of the actual length thus provided roughly 0.6*0.6=0.36 of the travel. Even if you apply more force you will only be lifting the car instead of compressing the spring.
Anybody who does this job, one thing in mind is to not use the normal pair of the compressors you tighten with a wrench but to use a stand like the video. Because of the high compression, you wont be able to compress the spring enough to fit it in the strut. ITS MUTCH EASIER AND CHEAPER TO BUY THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. Dont ask me how i know. Every component you would transfer to the new spring would be worn out and old, and will cause problems in the future. So just buy the whole thing and save yourself 5 hours of work(depending on how rusty the strut is)
This looks like changing from a B4 Bilstein shocks back to a standard shocks. A new standard shock will come with its snap ring placed on its highest grove, which is the 11th grove. What would the placement of the snap ring for E200k, E280, E320. Measuring from floor until wheel arch what should be height?. For front mine is 715mm vs 690mm at rear. Shining at torchlight it appeared that snap ring for mine is set on the highest grove. Might need to lower to the 4th or 5th or 6th grove?. Estimate from 1st to last grove is about 38mm. Regards.
In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing that may be slightly different is the design features of your car. For more precise information, please refer to the technical documentation of the vehicle or contact a car service center
Guys I understand that you intend to help people to learn how to carry out maintenance on their cars but the procedure is wrong as you don't have to remove the main lower arm bolts and drop links only need top balljoint and no tracking problems after replacement. At least consult Haynes manual.

Absolut rubish ! Its not as you make Mercedes owner afride complicating things owners doesn’t need to remove the things you doing to change spring Just thre bolds up and just one from suspension botem that’s it but you grubbing money for no thing!

Excellent quality, music a bit loud but text under film helps ,plus torque values,Thanks!

Great instruction video 👍
We are glad that this video was useful to you!

Gladly subscribed
How much would this cost - pretty sure this is my problem
Brother put down a wheel chock while torquing?!!!
Where can I order the spring compressor, used in the video..??
Hi! You can get acquainted with the goods for the car here www.autodoc.co.uk/?TH-cam&
W211 is 130 Nm - wheel torque

You can also take some ratchet hinges and compress the shock a bit and it will get over the arm...
No protective footwear from the fitter

You have to completely remove the upper control arm too
