Hello there, Meme! ❤ I always cook on the bottom rack, especially casseroles and I do have my reasons. 😂 I cook on the bottom rack to ensure the ingredients on the bottom of the dish cook well (closest to the heat) while also keeping the top farther away from the top burner so the topping does not burn or get too dry and crunchy while the inside gets done. My daughter gave me a container of diced vegetables including sweet potatoes, I added it to your recipe and my husband and I truly enjoyed it. I know now more comfort food is good for the soul and so is Jesus. Thank you
I used to make this years ago, but my recipe called for cooked ground beef after the cabbage and onions and the mushroom soup and mayonnaise on top of that. A complete meal! Sooo good! Thanks for the reminder! ❤️ I have always used the bottom rack, too!

Just a variant-I always add tomatoes whenever I use cabbage, such as soup, etc. because it goes so well with it. Also, even though it tastes good, I don't use cr. Of chicken because that's made with chicken fat. I'll try healthy Request cr. Of celery. Others may work well too. Thank you!

MeMe, put a piece of wet paper towel under your cutting board and it won't slide around on you
I use a silicone trivet on a clean counter, works great as well.
I’ll keep that paper towel tip in mind too. :)
A wet thin towel or dishrag will also work
