    Nice precise review. I bought one two weeks ago for £6400 with 28 miles on the clock.

    Great review & I agree that Yamaha has really nailed the 'price-point' manufacture of a motorcycle.

    The bloke in the front at 4:45 didn't make the smartest choice there over taking the car before that blind corner

    Probably has the same problem with the cam chain tensioner the old one had.
    Lots of choices for 2017. New GSX-S750, new Street Triple, new Z900 and a new MT-09.

    I found the way he said the front and back wheel were breaking traction significantly whilst only being ridden slowly very concerning. Makes me think twice about returning to biking after a 15 year gap. How common is this with big bikes? Does it happen a lot in the dry too? I only have 125 experience.

    • @tjr_rvls9716
      @tjr_rvls9716 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Either way with 125cc experience, I’d suggest stay away from mt09..

    I have a 2018 mt09 and have no knowledge of my oem QS being able to switch off? How do you think you can do that?

  • @Soysaucemoto
    @Soysaucemoto 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Copied the Z1000 headlight. Other than that I'd pick this over the Z900 or GSXS750.

    Now Yamaha have made it even harder for me to choose between this and the Street Triple R lol

    • @mhey1705
      @mhey1705 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Get the speed triple. I had a 2009 speed triple and even it felt under powered, I'd imagine the street triple would feel even more so?

    • @tooyoungtobeold8756
      @tooyoungtobeold8756 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was my dilemma until I got a really good deal on one of these and the R doesn't have a quick shifter, which I love.

    Why can't they just fix the bloody fuelling?
    If they got rid of the pointless modes and just made one nice smooth map I'd buy one tomorrow.

      Mt09 because of cheaper maintenance and valve adjustment is ar 26k vs 6k

    I just want to know if they've fixed that Cam Chain Tensioner issue.

      Honest Skeptic Was there one? I didn't know.

    • @cbr125rcanada

      E.S. Slc Yes sir!

    • @EEEBA1
      @EEEBA1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honest Skeptic Thank you, was that an issue on 2014, 2015,2016 or 2017?
      My local Yamaha dealer (they sold over 100 of them over the years) has no idea about it.

    • @cbr125rcanada
      @cbr125rcanada 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      E.S. Slc There was some sort of recall this year applying to all the cross-plane engine models. I'll see if I can find it and post it. If you have a bike with that lovely triple engine, they should fix it for ya for free.
      EDIT: Here's what we've got. It's TSB rather than a full-on recall at this point, but definitely issues that that cam-chain tensioner. I was hoping they'd revise the design in 2017, but not sure that happened.

      Honest Skeptic Thank you so much for this. I have been watching and thinking about the FZ09 for almost 3 years, but I have never seen or heard anyone mentioning anything about this issue. At this point I am leaning more towards the S1000R.

    3:27 - 3:54 This needs further investigation... If it is a problem other people have encountered that's a major liability issue for Yamaha. Anyone?

    It's a nice bike but i don't like fake scoops, I will buy a new Z900 with 125hp and 75 lb ft. tq, huge power over the Yamaha.

    • @malorkie
      @malorkie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      not as much fun as the mt09 though, only can use that power on higher RMP's.. That's why triples will always be more fun in general than 4 cylinders ;)

    It would be great if you subtitled your videos to Spanish. We would appreciate 500 million Spanish speakers. The vast majority of motorcycle tests in Spanish are terrible. Cheers!

    I guess Yamaha couldn't figure out how to do the single sided swing arm yet so they went for the next best thing. Single sided license plate arm... God it's horrid

    • @Smoove233
      @Smoove233 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      pengasus Single sided would raise the price a lot. And I actually like the fender a lot better than normal stock ones. But either way, you can get it removed

    • @pengasus
      @pengasus 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For value, you definitely can't beat this bike at the moment. And yes you can remove it but then you have to reroute the signal and license plate cables. Extra work. Anyways, grats if you bought it
