From what I have learned in the video lecture of Rizal in Dapitan, I think he enjoyed his exile in that place. It is because of his activities in Dapitan where he was able to enhance his concept of practical leadership, self and community improvement that strengthens his aspiration to love the country. He has done a lot of good in the community he has lived in. I can say that he improved the lifestyle of the people there by teaching them the knowledge that Dr. Jose Rizal has. Apart from the activities, also because of the people who considered him a friend, one of them was Don Ricardo Carnicero who was the politico-military Governor of Dapitan. And of course, because of Josephine Bracken who was adopted by Mr. George Tauffer, she became the common-law wife of Dr. Jose Rizal. Common-law marriage only because of what Fr. Obach on "No retraction, No Marriage".
I think Rizal's greatest contribution to Dapitan is the houses, clinics, and schools he built. The school is for children to study and learn. The clinic was for the patients he helped with their ailments as he became the first doctor in the community. Youth is indeed very important for Dr. Jose Rizal because of the construction of the school he helped many children to get an education. Because of the hardships of life of the people living there, they do not have a proper education system. Education is the key to a better future.

    1. I think what made Rizal special was his ability to contribute and influence the places he had gone to, no matter the reasons. When he was out traveling different places abroad with the idea of his mission on his back, he still found reasons to enjoy life and give a part of him where people could get lessons from. Not only Filipinos but also people from other countries had been influenced by him one way or another. Thus, I believe that Rizal did enjoy most, if not all, of his stay in Dapitan. In Dapitan, he was able to find a friend in the politico-military Governor and was able to meet the girl whom he wanted to spend his life with. Although most of this came with a price, Rizal’s principles stayed intact with him. He denied the offer of Father Obach of letting him live at the Parish convent provided that he would make things against his moral beliefs and even enhanced his concept of practical leadership and nationalism. He made Dapitan a city worthy of a visit, and for that Rizal must have lived his life to his own accord.
    2. Rizal contributed a lot in the beautification of Dapitan. Almost all of the improved and newly induced aspects in Dapitan by the time of Rizal's visit were done by him. He was the first to introduce social and environmental engineering, the first rural doctor, the first to show the way to community development, the first to set up a school, and everything that a place needs to catch up on the process of civilization of the world. I think the greatest contribution of Rizal does not end on one of the firsts that he became, but rather the overall essence of his works there. He showed how a place could be improved with the right knowledge about things. The beauty of this is that knowledge could be passed on. Once a person learned something, he would carry it for the rest of his life and then pass it on to the next generation, and the next generation would do something similar to it, maybe even more improved. This then explains how important the “firsts” are, and Rizal is just that for Dapitan.

    1. After watching the lecture I think I can safely assume that Dr. Jose Rizal enjoyed his stay in dapitan to a degree considering his relationship with josephine bracken was developed there. Furthermore, As i have observed Dr. Jose Rizal through the past discussions I think he likes to be productive and to help other people. As discussed by sir E he was the first of many things in dapitan so i think Dr. Jose Rizal will be pleased knowing he has been useful in dapitan. Having said that, i think any human being would say that they enjoyed a place where they accomplished a lot of things.
    2. I think the greatest accomplishment of Dr. Jose Rizal among his many achievements was putting up a school and being the first teacher. One of the most important aspects of life as we know it is knowledge so I appreciate Dr. Jose Rizal paid most of his attention to the development of the society. Dr Jose Rizal has a lot of achievements but education and having his own hands dirty by actually teaching there i think is a truly remarkable thing. Not to mention he was there because he was being exiled and yet he still managed to be productive and do something for the betterment of the society.

    1. From what I can gather based on the previous discussion, Rizal definitely made the most out of his stay in Dapitan, he may not have ‘enjoyed’ his stay because as we all know he was away from his family, the people whom he loved the most. But he made sure that even if he was exiled to different places in the country, he would still stay true to his word and profession, which is to help the people. Throughout his stay in Dapitan, he established and helped many of the people there by sharing his knowledge and expertise within the community.
    2. Rizal has done so much during his short stay in Dapitan, he changed a lot of lives by revolutionizing a lot of things and even introducing new things, he was the first to set up a school in Dapitan, which is one of his many contributions to the place. But the one that stood out the most was him just being involved in the community, he chose to be involved with the people, when in fact he could’ve just stayed silent and not engaged, but that’s not the type of person Rizal is, he liked to help the people, that is why he became present, and that I think is his greatest contribution in the community.

    1. Dr. Jose Rizal's life in Dapitan was a roller coaster in my opinion. I think that it was a roller coaster ride as Dr. Jose Rizal was thrown in Dapitan as an exile and so he was forced to be there and the place was not even that good, but Dapitan was where he met the love of his life and he did many things for Dapitan and did everything he wanted to for the Philippines in Dapitan such as Improving the plaza and directed the construction of a water system for Dapitan. He even Organized an association for the farmers and other things for the people.
    2. Dr Jose Rizal has many contributions in Dapitan as he made the things he wants to do for the Philippines there but for me his greatest contribution in dapitan was the direction and construction of a water system in Dapitan. As for us being an engineering student we can relate on this matter as it is not an easy task and yet he was able to direct and aid in the construction of a water system there. It shows the complexity and flexibility of Dr. Jose Rizal and the lengths he would go for the Filipino people.

    1) Dr. Jose Rizal's journeys don't just focus on the countries' natural splendor. As a result of his experiences, though, he has gained a deeper awareness of the situation in which our country finds itself. As a result of this, Dad was able to begin a new chapter in his life while on the road, which has had a profound effect on us today. In the same way that he completed and published El Filibusterismo while on the road, he began sketching The Monkey and the Turtle in France. As a result, I believe Jose Rizal's visit to our country was important in showcasing his abilities and igniting his passions, both of which led to our country's independence. As a result, it's clear that his words played a key role in our independence from Spanish colonialism. His travels opened his eyes to new realities and provided him with insights on how we might finally live the lives we've always wanted.
    2) In Austria-Hungary, Professor Ferdinand Blumentritt became Jose Rizal's favorite pen buddy, with whom he exchanged letters. Having met a friend there, I believe that Austria-Hungary was his favorite nation because of that. Filipinos know how much we cherish friendship, and I believe that an experience like that in Austria-Hungary would stick with him. He dislikes the US since he was quarantined as an asian, and this plainly indicates that Americans are racists there. In the Philippines, Dr. Jose Rizal observed racial persecution first-hand, which is a bad indicator if you're planning a trip to the country. According to him, Los Baos' falls were more beautiful than Niagara Falls in the United States. In my mind, it seemed to express his disappointment in the country's performance.

Although the purpose of Rizal coming to Dapitan was exile, for sure his life in there at the start was not easy and certainly not enjoyable since it is another place and another adjustment to make. But learning from the video lecture that many of the things and occasion in Dapitan was the first coming from Rizal, I think that Rizal at the end enjoyed his stay there and worth fulfilling somehow? He set up school and became its first teacher, he introduced many things such as livelihood programs, and became a doctor to help the place because it does not have medical needs.
Over-all I think that Jose Rizal’s greatest contribution in Dapitan, Zamboanga Del Norte was his leadership knowledge and skills. Because being a leader and leading the way is not an easy job but he helped and contributed and so many things and in so many ways that I’m sure the head of the place could not do. Rizal’s capabilities was surreal because the place is so far from the civilization. Who would have thought to win on a lottery and donate and helped it to build houses, clinics, and schools for the community. In those days, it was only Jose Rizal.

Rizals life in dapitan are more on a mixed of emotion of joy and sadness, he overcame obstacles of being deported, and the same situation where he aid others. Even him being exiled Rizals still doing his best to overcame his situation and continue to support the people and act a leadership among the FIlipino. He also had the opportunity to develop his sense of national pride and leadership while at Dapitan. Playing the lottery and working with and creating farmer groups brightened and enriched his life, I believe Dr. Jose Rizal enjoyed his time in Dapitan because he did so much for the city.
Rizals great contributions in Dapitan where, During his exile, Rizal made significant contributions to education. He founded a school in Dapitan and taught a variety of subjects, including English, science, and the arts. Rizal believed that education had the power to uplift the Filipino people and foster a sense of nationhood and identity, and also Rizal took an active role in providing medical care to the people of Dapitan. He established a clinic where he treated various ailments and performed surgeries, earning him the community's admiration and respect.

Before Rizal went to Dapitan, the place was swampy with unplanned streets, the primitive agriculture was underdeveloped, and people were dying because of different diseases. Jose Rizal's exile to Dapitan was a blessing and fulfilling on his end as well. When Rizal won in Spanish lottery, he used it to build his own house and houses for his students and patients. He beautified the Plaza, improved the water system and organized organization for the farmers. Knowing Rizal, I knew he enjoyed his stay because his mission for the country was achieved in Dapitan. He accomplished a lot of things like enhancing leadership and nationalism and community and self-improvement.
Jose Rizal became the first person to develop the community when it comes to public health, business, agriculture, and etc. His biggest contribution was the development in healthcare system and agriculture of this place. He did not only improve the environment, but also proved that there is hope for everyone. This is still being acknowledged up until now, thanks to Rizal for setting the standard.

    1. While in Dapitan, Rizal's life was a mix of joy and uncertainty. He overcame obstacles while simultaneously pursuing his enthusiasm for aiding other causes. He found friends in Dapitan who helped him improve and stoke his desire. I can say that Rizal continued to lead a simple life while still managing to adapt and assist the populace, providing for some of their needs like healthcare, education, and other programs that the entire city could profit from. While at Dapitan, he also had the chance to develop his sense of national pride and leadership. His life was made happy and rewarding by playing the lotto and working with and creating associations for farmers. Overall, I believe that because he made so many things to benefit the city, Dr. Jose Rizal loved his time in Dapitan. He indulges in developing his skills and talents, pursuing his love for Josephine Bracken, and even making attempts to start a family. His conflicted feelings, in my opinion, rendered him ordinary. He is reminded of his genuine mission for the Philippines and the worth of life.
    2. While at Dapitan, Rizal had an impact. He made a lot of extracurricular contributions that benefit everyone, not just one particular person. However, his extraordinary contribution to the residents of Dapitan began when he began developing recreational activities and programs that will assist the neighborhood realize its potential and show them that there are people who can support their basic requirements. The people of Dapitan found inspiration in Rizal because of the way he started building schools, used social and environmental engineering, became their rural doctor, and worked as a businessperson. He helped them understand they were capable of much more. Rizal also thought about imparting to children a feeling of nationalism and the idea that communal growth should be for everyone, not just some. Rizal is a man of honor and passion, and he made it very plain to the residents of Dapitan. He obviously cared deeply about assisting the Filipino people because he back then also inspired enthusiastic people.

    1) The life of Rizal in Dapitan can be described as a great opportunity in improving himself in being a practical leader and a nationalist as he exerted his effort in developing the town of Dapitan. I do think that Dr. Jose Rizal spent his time well for four years in this rural area. Even if the town of Dapitan in in primitive agriculture and people were dying with different diseases, Dr. Jose Rizal chose to stand up and lead the people in teaching them to improve their community and treat his patients in their illnesses. He did not waste his time during his exile as he contributed in the community development of Dapitan and lead the townspeople in developing the livelihood of everyone. Dr. Jose Rizal served as the First Filipino doctor with a social conscience in Dapitan. To sum it up, I am sure that he really did enjoy his exile in Dapitan.
    2) I do think that Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was improving the whole town into a prosperous one. He did this community development thru his reward in a Spanish lottery where he won 1000 Php. He bought 70 hectares to establish houses not only for himself but for his pupils and patients, clinic, and school. He led the townspeople on the beautification of the plaza, the placement of lampposts in every corner of the town to improve its lighting system, and lastly, initiated the construction of water system that remained until in the present times. He did also organize an association of farmers for the farm production improvement and help the fishing industry to gain higher incomes. Dr. Jose Rizal became a leader for a meantime in this town as he led the townspeople on creating opportunities that will help their beloved town develop and serve them as a doctor, ophthalmic surgeon who was also getting visited by foreign individuals.

    1. During his exile in Dapitan, it is full of ups and downs but I think Rizal still enjoyed most of his time there. He met the love of his life there which made me say that he enjoyed there. He also contributed in so many events and places and also, has many first times in the place. I think that those happy moments of Rizal made his exile a good one and bad moments were covered.
    2. His greatest contribution in Dapitan was education and health care provider. He also contributed to the water source for the place which is also very important. I think without Rizal, there will be no change for Dapitan or maybe it will took months or years to change. He also taught farmers and fishermen to produce higher incomes and gave them what they need for their job.
    3. Yes, I've watched the whole video.
BONUS: The video talks about how Rizal's words affects the lives of the people in some ways. The kid in the video were so unsure of his future because of their life and family situation. He thinks that there were no hope for him. But the eventually, he became a teacher who is now teaching the life and works of Jose Rizal. I think the meaning of "Ang kabataan ang pagasa ng bayan" is, as the youth grow older, they see and realize how cruel the real world and that is the reason why the youth will change the country, because they are the one who has the ability to change the world while they are growing older. They have the capacity to influence each other to change the world.

    1. I think that at first, he didn’t enjoy his exile in Dapitan but later on somehow, he enjoyed it. Based on the lecture video, I think the first thing that made Rizal happy with his stay in Dapitan is when he won the 1000 Php from the lottery of the Spaniards. When he won the lottery, this became the start of all the good things that he did in Dapitan. He uses it to build his house, a school that has the Atenean system of education, and clinic. He starts to construct the proper water system for the town. He did so many things to improve the community in Dapitan. That is why I think he started to enjoy his stay in Dapitan when he won the lottery.
    2. I think the greatest contribution of Rizal in Dapitan is education. Because in my opinion, the best gift our parents can give us is knowledge. The same thing happened in Dapitan; he gave the locals knowledge, and in my opinion, nothing else can take the place of peoples' knowledge. I always value the knowledge that my parents, instructors, and peers impart to me because of this.
BONUS: It is about a bully teenager who always gets beaten by his father. I think Rizal’s life has a significant in the story of this video. The narrator and the protagonist in this video are always asking pepe or Rizal about how the children will become the hope of our country. I think that Rizal’s saying “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan” has a huge impact in the narrator. Because with all the bad things that happening in his life how can he become the hope of our country. This is where we can compare Rizal’s life with the narrator because Rizal also experiences bad things and not only bad things but terrible things because he has so many enemies but, in the end, he shows that he can still pursue his dream. It is just like what happens with the narrator he became a teacher despite all the past things that he experienced.

1,) During his four-year exile in Dapitan, José Rizal faced many kinds of challenges and accomplishments. In general, Rizal made the most of his stay in Dapitan. During his exile, Rizal participated in many kinds of activities that showed his willingness to adapt and passion to community service. Even though he wasn't officially recognized as a doctor, he performed medicine and attended to the residents' medical needs. Rizal's experiences and learnings at Dapitan were essential, shaping his views on developing nations and the importance of education. He recognized education's potential for encouraging Filipinos and building an idea of national identity. While Rizal's exile was obviously hard and strict, he made the most of his time in Dapitan, focusing on his multiple endeavors to leave a lasting impression on the community.
2.) During his exile in Dapitan, José Rizal made many important achievements, one of which was his creation of a school. This institution was important in providing education to Dapitan's young and learning opportunities that went beyond standard academics. Rizal's school in Dapitan exemplified his dedication to nation-building and his view that education was important for establishing a better more united Philippines. His emphasis on practical skills and character development reflected his belief that education should be in line with community needs and prepare learners for real-life issues.
    3.) YES
Bonus Question: The video is about a boy who had a terrible childhood and faced numerous problems throughout his life. He talks about his acts with Rizal on his mind and how he was expected to live up to Rizal's student ideals. Despite these obstacles, he persevered and began teaching at a school, as Rizal once said, "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan."

    1. I think Rizal made the most he can during his stay in Dapitan. People loved him and appreciated all his doings. He also enjoyed it he did a lot during his stay in Dapitan. He had a lot of firsts; First to introduce social and environmental engineering, First rural doctor,
First professional to engage in business, First practitioner of town planning and beautification, First to introduce the principles of livelihood and self-reliance programs, First to show the way to community development, First ophthalmic surgeon sought by patients from foreign land, First to set up school, First teacher, First collector of Philippine shells, butterflies, reptiles and other fauna and flora in Mindanao, First sanitary engineer and public health work, First filipino doctor with a social conscience, He even organized an association of farmers to improve farm production and generate higher incomes. He also bought 70 hectares in Talisya; built his own house and housed for his pupils and patients, clinic and school that follows the Atenean system of education. Beautified the plaza, facilitated the putting up of lamp posts at every corner of the town, He directed the construction of a water system. During his stay in Dapitan he even won in a Spanish lottery the sum he won was a thoousand pesos.
    2. Rizal did a lot of good deeds during his stay in Dapitan but for me, the greates contribution will be when he build a school, a housing for his pupils, he beautified the plaza, facilitated the putting up of lampposts at every corner of the town. He even directed the construction of a water system, and him organizing an association of farmers to improve farm production and generate higher incomes. This are his greatest contribution to Dapitan in my opinion because this benefits and helps a lot of people living in Dapitan. I really admired how Rizal made things that can not only benefit him but others too.

    1. I would say that Rizal's life in Dapitan goes smoothly for someone who is exiled. He gained friends and even met his lover, Josephine, in Dapitan. Rizal even built a village of his own, complete with essentials needed in that place. He became a doctor and even the first to build an educational building in Dapitan. With all of his help in developing and beautifying Dapitan, Rizal must be admired and respected by many. Enough that the people even held a funeral song as they bid farewell when he was about to depart from the place. In my opinion, Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan as he even wrote his goodbyes in his diary for the place.
    2. Although Rizal made a lot of contributions to Dapitan, which helped the people to live a better and more comfortable life, I think that the most significant contribution he made was the first school he built for the place. Through this, he has given opportunities for young Filipinos to study and gain knowledge that would otherwise be uneducated. He even taught them himself as he was the first teacher of the place. By building the school, he helped the community to develop and taught them essential ideas needed for the place to grow. This is why the educational building he built in Dapitan is the most significant contribution he made.

Although he encountered challenges in this place he has enjoyed by helping others by providing education and doing a lot of things. He won in a Spanish lottery and uses it to improve agricultural needs, medical reasons, town beautification and education. I think he enjoys helping to our fellow Filipinos.
2.) I think the greatest contribution of Doctor Jose Rizal in Dapitan was to introduce the priniples of livelihood and self-reliance program. This was the most important because with the micro help of every people for themselves and to the place with have macro effect in different part of life.

I believe he enjoyed his exile in Dapitan. First, he improved his understanding about practical leadership and nationalism. He improved himself as a part of that experience. He won the jackpot, allowing him to purchase 70 hectares of land in Talisay. There, he built his own house, houses for his students and patients, a clinic, and a school based on the Atenean educational system. He also contributes to the betterment of the villagers' lives, particularly in the areas of farming and fishing. He also created a lamppost project in every corner of town, beautified the plaza, and installed water systems.
I believe Rizal's greatest contribution to Dapitan was the water and lighting systems. These are vital items that may be used for a long period. We are all aware of the importance of water. Water scarcity may be devastating; polluted water and inadequate filtration have been related to the spread of illnesses such as cholera and diarrhea. Individuals are exposed to unnecessary potential health risks with the absence of water sanitation facilities. He also contributed to agriculture, specifically the farming and fishing industries. Improvements in farming and fishing conditions will result in more income and, as a result, a better quality of life.

1.)According to the lecture video, I think Rizal had a sense of enjoyment while living in Dapitan and working to improve the condition of the town. When he won the lottery, he utilized the money to build his home, a clinic for his patients and students, and a school where he established learning in the Atenean educational system. It makes sense considering how much better he did academically at Ateneo than at UST and how much more enjoyable his stay there was. By boosting Dapitan's economy and improving the areas that will benefit many people, such as supporting the installation of lamp posts at every intersection of the town as he oversaw the development of the water system, Rizal greatly beautified the area. To increase agricultural output and create more income, he established a farmers' organization. He also made investments in fishing and fishnets. Through his improved understanding of pragmatic leadership and nationalism, he truly showed how effective a leader he can be. He held the view that community and self-improvement are essential to maintaining the integrity of the country and ensuring efficient leadership. All of these were accomplished while he was staying in Dapitan and serve as live evidence that Rizal liked his temporary exile there.
2.)His knowledge-sharing with the locals of Dapitan, in my opinion, was his most significant contribution to the town. He is really up to something that will transform Dapitan for the better, as someone who introduced such information there. The improvement he made in Dapitan is a reflection of his desire to inspire more people. His expertise has aided in the improvement of people's living conditions in Dapitan, from employment to the educational system. The school he founded helped numerous young people acquire unfamiliar information they were not used to. He worked hard to spread the word about the value of education, how it would alter lives, and how it could rescue everyone by employing knowledge in circumstances where they would be at a disadvantage. Rizal also built clinics to aid residents of Dapitan in overcoming a variety of ailments that may be treated, prolonging and saving their lives. When it comes to Dapitan’s livelihood, he assisted by urging individuals to acquire more effective farming techniques in order to increase their incomes. He helped the entire community establish its own water system that everyone may use with ease, thanks to the water system he began. Instead of merely hoarding his money for his personal benefit, he put it in projects that would benefit many others. He concentrates on improving the location of where he is currently residing.
    BONUS:
The young man in the video appears to be experiencing several distractions while studying. He enjoyed life with his friends, attempted to become an addict, fell in love with a relative, and used a pen to fight for his loved ones. Similar to Dr. Jose Rizal's life, he encountered all of the obstacles that, if he were more fragile, may have caused him to quit. However, he is not fragile and endures even when things are difficult. Rizal also had a romantic relationship with a relative, which cannot be, as we all know, but that is love. Rizal also experienced barkada life, experimented with hashish as a teenager, and then used a pen to fight for his loved ones and this nation. These two stories encounter obstacles as they work toward a bright future, but they ultimately succeed in earning a degree and serve as an example for younger generations to act righteously and acquire knowledge. The creator of the video letter was inspired by Dr. Jose Rizal's life to emphasize the value of education, the importance of addressing violence, and the importance of striving to become an inspiration to this nation's future generations. Knowledge and faith are the best armor we can have when facing life's challenges.

    1. Rizal led a humble life in exile in Dapitan. He practiced medicine, started a school, and did farming, fishing, and other things. He also applied his knowledge to assist the community in a variety of ways. Rizal even developed a water system to ensure that the locals had access to clean water. According to the video lecture, Rizal made the best of his stay in Dapitan. Despite the fact that he was separated from his family and friends, he was able to establish himself in the community and find fulfillment in his profession. He also pursued his enthusiasm for study and discovery. Overall, while Rizal's exile in Dapitan was not what he would have chosen, it appears that he made the best of the situation. He used his abilities to aid others while still continuing his intellectual endeavors. In this sense, one could say that he relished his exile to some extent.
2.Rizal's most significant gift to Dapitan was the foundation of a school. He established the school to educate the kids and spread knowledge in order to shape the country's destiny. He taught a wide range of disciplines, including mathematics, science, and even farming. Rizal's school became a model institution in the region, and other educators quickly followed suit. Rizal's school contributed to the spread of education in Dapitan by making it available to the common people who had previously been denied it. He believed that education was critical to the advancement of the country, and his institution functioned as a stepping stone toward that aim. Rizal used the school to engage with the people of Dapitan and gain their trust. Finally, Rizal's school was his most significant contribution to Dapitan. It aided in the promotion of education, shaping the country's destiny, and connecting him with the people. Rizal's commitment to education has left an indelible mark, and his legacy continues to inspire both educators and students.
BONUS. Rizal's life was crucial to the writer because it acted as a guiding light that helped him find his way in life. Rizal's belief in the significance of education, patriotism, and social justice connected with him, inspiring him to become a better person and positively contribute to society. Rizal learnt throughout his life that one individual can make a difference, no matter how terrible the circumstances. Rizal's struggle against the harsh Spanish colonial authority, his love of education, and his patriotism encouraged the writer to follow in his footsteps and work for positive change.

    1. I think that Dr. Jose Rizal has experienced some fulfillment and enjoyed his life in some point when he was exiled or casted out from Manila to Dapitan. A man who portrays his passion from what he do will truly enjoy what he will do and has done. Dr. Jose Rizal has done a lot of activities in Dapitan, which he had showed love for the place. He was willing to bring beauty and improvements for the place, he was doing it by his own will and for his love for the country. Dr. Jose Rizal also been able to gain some self improvement from this activities. He Improve his understanding of practical governance and nationalism and seen the long-term benefits it will provide for the community.
    2. Dr. Jose Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his exceptional knowledge and intelligence. With the help of the P1000 peso lottery prize and his knowledge he was able improve and provide development for Dapitan. He was able to increase and improve the incomes by establishing an organization of farmers. Enhance and renovated the town plaza to make it much more physically attractive and to look more alive. Dr. Jose Rizal also used the lottery prize to build and set up a school, clinic and houses for the patients. He has also showed programs about livelihood programs and business for the development of the community.

1.) Rizal’s life in Dapitan was a mixture of highs and lows. He was exiled and separated from his family and love ones and he didn’t have the freedom like he had before his imprisonment, but many good things happened with his stay, and it all started when he won the Spanish lottery worth 1000 pesos (which was like hundred of thousand as his time). With this money he was able to help the city and build structures to help everyone and teaching which he was able to share, by this he was established as the first teacher, first to introduce environmental engineering, first doctor, etc. He was able to also develop leadership and nationalism which greatly enhanced his governance and national integrity. I think Rizal enjoyed his life, because knowing what kind of person he is, I think by helping the community to grow because of him, is a sight that he will forever smile on.
2.) Rizal’s greatest contribution to Dapitan is literally everything. Prior to his arrival, Dapitan was like a desolated place where potable water is scarce, lighting system is deplorable, streets are unpleasant to see, and people are dying left and right due to numerous diseases. With the lottery money that Rizal won, he did not spend it entirely for his own sake, instead he established schools, clinics, houses, lamp posts, a proper water system, and overall just made the entire place into a new one. He introduced new livelihood to the people and with this, Dapitan flourished to what we know of this place today.

    1. Rizal's life in Dapitan is worth wile. Even through the circumstances he encountered, hi still made a way to do something that would benefit him or kill time while he was in exile. I would describe his exile as being a productive moment wherein he served the people in Dapitan. He constructed springs and putted-up a school for the people in Dapitan. On the other hand, Rizal also met Josephine Bracken who became Rizal's lover. In short, Rizal was allowed to do things as he pleases. As a casual citizen in Dapitan, he maximized his time by honing his skills as a writer and contributing to the welfare of his community.
    2. Rizal's greatest contribution for me was his effort to put up schools in Dapitan for the children to learn. He also built houses and clinics for the people in Dapitan. Nevertheless, education for me is the top priority especially for the young ones. It is important to teach the children while they are young because it is hard to convince them when they are older. It is also essentially good to have a good foundation of education as they grow up to have a solid character. That is why putting up schools was the greatest contribution of Rizal in Dapitan.

    1. In my opinion, Jose Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan since he established and implemented several knowledge and infrastructures that will help to improve the civilization and lifestyle of the residents of Dapitan. Moreover, Jose Rizal uses the one thousand pesos that he got from the Spanish lottery and used it to build several building facilities, including a school, clinic, water system, and fishing ponds. Furthermore, Jose Rizal does all the things that he wants to do and help his fellow Filipino people in Dapitan, including setting up a school for the people to spread his knowledge that can be used by the future generations, using his professional degree to treat the patients that need medical attention and help him to enhance his concepts in terms of practical leadership and nationalism.
    2. For me, the greatest contribution of Jose Rizal in Dapitan is the one thousand pesos bill that he got from the Spanish lottery. Additionally, the Dapitan City has been developed and improved with the help of Jose Rizal’s money and practical leadership. And he was capable of handling and managing the community to unleash its potential, such as establishing building facilities for the residents of Dapitan, like a clinic for the individuals that have an illness, a school for the education of future generations, a water system and fishing nets for the food source of the community. Furthermore, the practical leadership, engineering knowledge, and clinical skills of Jose Rizal enhanced the whole city of Dapitan through the use of his one thousand pesos.

1.It has been a long journey for Dr. Jose Rizal when he was exiled in Dapitan, he experienced lots of situations and circumstances where he continues on learning as well as living. I would describe Jose Rizal's stay in Dapitan as a destiny, like he was destined to be there and make a huge difference with regards to how the place and the people in Dapitan have been living. On the other hand, I also think that he enjoyed staying in the place since this is where he met his last love, Josephine Bracken, not only that, but by making an improvement in the city since he practiced enhancing his leadership skills and good governance. Thus, by doing that we all know that ample people can be inspired in what he does. That is why the patriotism in their hearts has awakened as they have seen how Dr. Jose Rizal has been living positively and continues to fight despite being exiled. Furthermore, Dr. Jose Rizal help the citizens in Dapitan in the way he also improves the way of their living, he manages to beautified the plaza by making decorations, and what's more important is his action towards the improvement of the income and how he can help the farmers from gaining more through the use of having associations.
2.Dr. Jose Rizal helped the citizens of Dapitan in many ways that we couldn't even imagine that he had done it all. However, I would say that his greatest contribution in the City was, he was the first person to set up a school in Dapitan, making him also the first teacher. Though he had done so much more like introducing the principles of livelihood, however, knowledge is something we value the most and that is why I think it is his best action towards Dapitan. A school is not only a structure nor a second home it is a building of knowledge, wisdom, a room for improvement as well as enhancing your skills and capabilities. Thus, by having that, people in Dapitan can make much more difference in their City as they start to build a different surrounding. Likewise, with Dr. Jose Rizal as the teacher, he shares ample knowledge and experience that will surely capture the hearts of people and make them eager to also aim their dreams as they continue on learning.

    1. Rizal's life in Dapitan was bittersweet in the sense that there were bad times and good times as well. In the beginning, living in a well guarded cabin might have been rough for him but as time went by, he was able to accomplish a variety of things and was able to meet Josephine Bracken whom became his lover.
I learned that even though exiled, Rizal was able to help the community where he was exiled to. He was able to introduce various principles of livelihood and helped the people there as a doctor with social conscience.
    2. Rizal's greatest contribution in my opinion is where he organized an association for farmers which led to an improved farm production. This helped the people of Dapitan, not only to feed more for themselves but also to be able to acquire greater income.

1.) At first, I think Jose Rizal will and did not enjoy his exile in Dapitan. But after watching and learning the lecture video, I realized that Jose Rizal enjoyed his stay in Dapitan. Jose Rizal even becomes friends with the general and the priest. During his stay in Dapitan, Jose Rizal even contributes to the society and community of Dapitan. Jose Rizal helped with the education, beautification, economy, health of the people, and overall development of Dapitan. For me, Jose Rizal enjoyed his four years exiled in Dapitan before going to Spain by fulfilling the duties of being a Filipino.
2.) Jose Rizal had many contributions to Dapitan. Jose Rizal introduce environmental engineering, became a rural doctor, and a teacher, help with the economy of Dapitan, and others. However, Jose Rizal's greatest contribution to Dapitan was providing a school to the people of Dapitan. When Jose Rizal won the lottery, he bought land for his house and his school. He, even so, became the first teacher for the children. It was very helpful for the children in Dapitan but also for the future of the children. In his four years in Dapitan, what he started was so impactful for the future.

    1. I think Dr. Jose P. Rizal enjoyed his stay in Dapitan because in the first few weeks of his stay in Dapitan he won in a Spanish lottery with and receive a one thousand pesos cash. He was also treated like a friend by the Politico Military Governor named Don Ricardo Carnicero . He was also beautified the plaza and put some lamppost. The water system was also build which could be seen in Dapitan nowadays it was like preserved which reflects that Dr. Jose Rizal did a great contribution in Dapitan. Dr. Jose Rizal also enhanced his concept of practical leadership and nationalism as he contribute many things in Dapitan which helps a lot of people in despair and specially the farmers and the fisherman in the town. He did not also learned and earned a lot of money in Dapitan but he also enjoyed the experience with the other people and met a lot of new friends which made him achieved what is his goals and freedom of our country which we are experiencing today.
    2. At the point when Jose Rizal was delivered off to Dapitan a town at the northernmost tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula, he had lived in Madrid, Paris, and London; taken a train across the United States, he also made colleagues with intellectual European people and written books Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo that sparks a revolution . In his stay in Dapitan he put his talent in a good use. Few weeks staying at Dapitan he won in a spanish lottery and received one thousand pesos which he bought a 16 hectare land in Talisay and the money left was used in construction of water system in Dapitan and lamps in the streets. He helped a lot of people with his pure heart which made him our National Hero of the Philippines.

    1. While in Dapitan, Rizal's life was a mix of joy and uncertainty. He overcame obstacles while simultaneously pursuing his passion for aiding other causes. He developed relationships with people who inspired and improved him to enhance his concept of practical leadership and nationalism. I can say that Rizal continued to lead a simple life while still managing to adapt and assist others by providing for some of their needs like healthcare, education, and other programs that the entire city could benefit from. In this place, he also met his common-law wife, Josephine Bracken, whom he valued greatly, therefore she played a part in his life as well. This marital relationship resulted in a stillborn baby named Francisco. His conflicted feelings, in my opinion, made him an ordinary citizen. Although he lived there for four years and thirteen days, he never lost sight of his true purpose for the Philippines.
    2. Rizal made significant contributions to Dapitan's reformation. By the time of Rizal's arrival, nearly every aspect of Dapitan had been enhanced or established. He was the first to introduce social and environmental engineering, the first rural doctor, the first to pave the path for community development, the first to establish a school, and everything else that is required for a place to catch up to the global civilization process. He created clinics for his patients and water systems so that everyone could have access to clean, drinkable water. He did not just use his abilities for himself, but also for the people around him. Rizal improved living conditions in Dapitan by addressing basic necessities and boosting the agriculture industry, leaving a lasting legacy of progress.

BONUS: The video focused on the lead character's intense struggle to understand what it means to be the "hope of the nation," as Jose Rizal put it in his well-known quote, "ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan". When the child compared his life to that of his hero Rizal, he recognized it was not an easy one because his father had a history of abusing him. He also believes that since Rizal was a womanizer, obtaining plenty of women will make him the country's hope. Rizal's claim reflects his conviction that young people may shape the future and effect great change. He recognized that individuals were capable of resisting authority, protecting their liberties, and actively contributing to efforts to advance their nation.

Rizal's actions was also limited, but he made most of his time contributing to the betterment of Dapitan. He continued his education advocacy and writings that conveyed his ideals and aspirations for the country. His involvement in education and community development In conclusion I think Rizal enjoyed his time in Dapitan.
2.) I would say Rizal's best contribution in the Dapitan is probably the school he established and his dedication to education. Rizal provided oppurtunities to the local children of Dapitan, it created a positive impact on the people of Dapitan. Rizal believed that education was essential for national development and social progress.

1.) Yes, I think Jose Rizal enjoyed his stay in Dapitan. He has a lot of activities in this place that enhanced his concept of practical leadership and nationalism. He improved the life of citizen in Dapitan. When Jose Rizal won a lottery, he did not keep it to himself instead he built houses, clinic, and school for the community. He beautified the plaza, construct water system, and fix the lighting system. Rizal’s life in Dapitan was very productive in a way that he helps a lot of people while staying there. He was a surgeon, doctor, teacher and engineer. So, yes Jose Rizal did enjoy his exile in this place because he was able to do things that he wanted and hoped for the country and that what makes Rizal as a person.
2.) Jose Rizal has a lot of contributions in Dapitan. He built houses for his students and patients. He gave the town a school that is a very first one to set up in Dapitan. He also built clinic, which I think is the most important of all. It is stated that there were people dying with different disease because of no proper medical services. So, I think it was the greatest contribution of Jose Rizal among all the things he did in Dapitan. In here, he was the first rural doctor and first Filipino doctor with social conscience that shows Jose Rizal was indeed a doctor in mind and heart. Life is very precious to anyone, and someone dying from a disease is a very difficult times especially now that we are in pandemic. And it is very important to sought the right treatment with the help of a doctor. So, I think Jose Rizal already did great when he gave importance to the health of the people living in Dapitan.

    1. Rizal lived a fairly simple life while in exile in Dapitan. Rizal built an informal school, where he taught several children. He also had a patient he was looking for to be healed. Rizal fell in love with Josephine Bracken and built an intimate relationship with him. Rizal's life in Dapitan was simple. Yes, even if Rizal went into exile in Dapitan, he was able to make his situation productive. This may remind us that no matter what lifestyle we have, we can still do anything. The smallest and easiest way can make a difference. Our hero managed to do something good, even in exile. He did not limit himself, he absorbed his surroundings.
    2. His greatest contribution, for me, is that he became the first rural doctor in Dapitan. I highly believe it was a great help to people in Dapitan. Especially way back in the day when deaths are caused by illnesses that is curable but cannot do so because of a lack of doctors. He helped minimize the pains of everyone around him. And helped them recover and save their life. Saving lives is the very first on my list and he provided that to the people in Dapitan.

    1. Based on the lecture, I would describe the life of Doctor Jose Rizal that he enjoyed his stay in Dapitan. I say this because he was able to contribute to the community and serve its citizen. Dr. Jose Rizal was able to enjoy his exile to Dapitan because he was able to serve his countrymen by giving them a better place to live and serving to them as a doctor and a teacher. Also, during Dr. Jose Rizal's stay in Dapitan, he was able to meet the lady that he would like to marry, however they were unable to marry each other due to the circumstances of Dr. Jose Rizal. Nevertheless, they were able to enjoy each other's company and was able to enjoy their stay in Dapitan.
    2. While Doctor Jose Rizal is staying in Dapitan, he had done many things for the community. For me, the greatest contribution of Doctor Jose Rizal to Dapitan is that he improves the way of living in Dapitan and makes it easier for its citizen to live there. He was able to generate higher incomes for the farmers by improving the farm production through an organized association. He was also able to improve the quality of water in the area by constructing a water system. In addition, Dapitan has a poor lighting system which makes it like desolate, but Jose Rizal was able to put up lampposts in every corner of the town which makes it more livelier and makes it better place to live. By doing this kind of improvements in the town, Dr. Jose Rizal was able to improve the living of the people in Dapitan.

    1. When Rizal was exiled to Dapitan, I think he enjoyed his time there. It is stated in the lectures that he did many first in Dapitan, which I believe is quite academically and emotionally rewarding for him. Some examples are Rizal, the first one to set up a school, the first rural doctor, and the first one to introduce the principles of livelihood and self-reliance programs in Dapitan. I can tell he is fond of the things he did there before leaving since he lives a peaceful and meaningful life in Dapitan. Rizal executed and passed on all the learnings he gained throughout his life. Thus, the activities he did somewhat resemble his dream for the country.
    2. As stated, citizens in Dapitan are dying with different diseases that have no proper medical services provided by the authorities. In today's time, we are currently experiencing a pandemic, and I can tell that it is harder to cope if there is little to no medical professional around. Having expertise in the medical field is a massive contributor to long-term effects for the betterment of the community. Especially Rizal as a doctor with empathy, he did not just have a short-term goal of treating a patient but also had a broad perspective on how overall he could contribute to the economy.

    1. Rizal did what he wanted to do for the Philippines in Dapitan. He applied his dreams and aspirations in this politico-military outpost of the Spaniards. The place that was once with unplanned streets and no access to potable water was changed after Rizal’s help. With the help of the money Rizal won in the lottery, he used it to buy land, beautify the plaza, construct a water system, improve agriculture by organizing farmers to make things more profitable, and also fishing. I would say he made himself worthwhile while being an exile in Dapitan. He did a lot of things in that place while being an exile which says a lot about Rizal’s personality, and nationalism. I think, he enjoyed his stay despite the circumstances of why he was there, he liked helping his fellow Filipinos. This just shows how much Rizal cared for the Philippines and his fellow countrymen.
    2. In my opinion, Dr. Jose Rizal’s greatest contribution in Dapitan was the improvement of the livelihood in the city. The once messy and no organization place was improved just by using the winnings of Rizal’s in the Spanish lottery that rewards a thousand Philippine Pesos. Helping the people who were living there, I assume, is what Rizal would also consider his greatest contribution. Rizal being able to actualize his ideals even a small part of his beloved country is already great as is. Him being in exile didn’t stop him from helping the people, he was also very productive. In the absence of potable water, he was able to direct the construction of a water system that will resolve the problem. Helping also the farmers to earn more by creating an organization is already a great help for the economy of that place and for the livelihood of these farmers.

During his long exile from 1892 to 1896, Jose Rizal, the revered national hero of the Philippines, encountered myriad trials and left an indelible mark on Dapitan. His time in Dapitan, though a forced sanctuary, afforded him invaluable opportunities for introspection and impactful contributions. Within the confines of Dapitan, Rizal took it upon himself to establish an educational institution, enlightening local children and sharing his profound insights on diverse subjects ranging from mathematics to literature. Furthermore, he selflessly engaged in medical practice, tending to the health needs of the community. These selfless acts of service and his unwavering commitment to intellectual pursuits epitomize Rizal's noble character. Despite the limitations imposed by his exile, Rizal discovered solace in the enchanting beauty of Dapitan. He wholeheartedly immersed himself in scientific endeavors, meticulously studying the fascinating flora and fauna of the area and collecting specimens. Additionally, he delighted in exploring the neighboring landscapes, capturing their essence through sketches, paintings, and literary expressions. These creative outlets allowed Rizal to nurture his artistic sensibilities and satiate his insatiable thirst for knowledge. While exile was initially imposed as punishment, Rizal admirably embraced his time in Dapitan as an opportunity for personal growth and societal contribution. His fervent dedication to education, healthcare, and artistic pursuits in Dapitan underscores his genuine affinity and appreciation for the locale. He understands it now, this is where he would create his plans to change his country for the better. Rizal's time in Dapitan epitomized his unwavering commitment to education, altruism, and exploration. Despite the hardships accompanying exile, he wholeheartedly embraced his circumstances, leaving an indelible impact on the community. Through his selfless actions and remarkable contributions, it becomes abundantly clear that Rizal not only relished his time in Dapitan but also derived immense fulfillment from his endeavors.
Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan encompassed two vital areas: the establishment of an exemplary water system and the formation of a farmer association to bolster agricultural productivity and foster greater financial prosperity. Foremost, Rizal astutely recognized the criticality of a dependable water supply for the holistic well-being and progress of the community. In Dapitan, he undertook the formidable task of developing a comprehensive water system, meticulously constructing wells, irrigation channels, and reservoirs. This feat ensured a sustainable and accessible water source for domestic use, agriculture, and various essential activities. Rizal's unwavering dedication to this endeavor significantly enhanced the quality of life in Dapitan, promoting hygienic practices, bolstering public health, and fostering overall community development. Furthermore, Rizal's visionary mindset extended beyond water management. He discerned the immense potential of the agricultural sector to uplift the lives of the local populace. Hence, he took the initiative to organize an association of farmers, empowering them with knowledge of modern farming techniques, introducing new crops, and cultivating strategies for increased productivity. Through his guidance and expertise, Rizal not only equipped the farmers with invaluable skills but also facilitated their ability to achieve higher crop yields and generate augmented income. This transformative step not only improved individual livelihoods but also fostered economic growth and stability throughout the region. Rizal's remarkable contributions in establishing an exemplary water system and nurturing agricultural progress underscored his visionary leadership, pragmatic problem-solving acumen, and profound compassion for the welfare of the people. By addressing fundamental needs and fortifying the agricultural sector, Rizal left an enduring legacy of progress and ameliorated living conditions in Dapitan.
This video delved into the protagonist's profound struggle to grasp the essence of being the "hope of the nation," as described by Jose Rizal in his famous quote, "ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" (the youth is the hope of the nation). Throughout the video, the main character grapples with the perplexity of embodying that ideal, given the shattered state of their own life. Their confusion arises from the stark contrast between their personal hardships and the weighty expectations placed upon them as a member of the youth. This internal conflict poignantly highlights the dissonance between the aspirations set by society and the individual's struggles.

1.) I may say that, Dr. Jose Rizal's life in Dapitan was amusing because, even though he was brought there as an exile, he managed to make something good with it. With his knowledge and skills, he helped develop a primitive community and somehow improve the growth of that community towards the development of their town. Another thing is that, even if he has the chance to escape the captivity through the help of the revolutionaries, he stayed true to his words with the Spanish government. This only shows how bright and innocent Jose Rizal's character is. Maybe Jose Rizal did enjoy his stay in Dapitan, because his presence there helped develop a community and shape it under his own from the places that he has been through. When he left Dapitan, the people organized a farewell and played funeral song to express their grief over the departure of Jose Rizal.
2.) Jose Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan I think was his initiative to develop that community. He did built schools for the people living there and even became the pioneer teachers there. He also helped shape the community towards development, giving jobs and more income to the population. With this, Jose Rizal helped improve the quality of life of the people living in that community. When Dr. Jose Rizal first came into Dapitan, the people living there was deprived of the basic needs like education and medical support, I may say that Jose Rizal was suited for his journey there because he can provide them the things they need through his knowledge and skills that he mustered from his recent journeys outside of our country.

    1. Rizal's life in Dapitan during his exile from 1892 to 1896 was a remarkable period filled with intellectual vigor and an unwavering commitment to his ideals. Despite being confined to a remote and secluded place, Rizal turned adversity into opportunity and left an indelible mark on Dapitan.
In this seemingly idyllic coastal town, Rizal's genius shone through. He established a school, sharing his vast knowledge with eager minds, teaching subjects that ranged from science to mathematics. His passion for medicine drove him to provide healthcare to the locals, setting up a clinic and performing surgeries with utmost dedication.
Rizal's thirst for knowledge knew no bounds. He immersed himself in scientific exploration, conducting botanical experiments and revolutionizing agricultural practices in the region. His contributions to the field were invaluable, reflecting his profound intellect and tireless curiosity.
However, amidst this apparent tranquility, Rizal's heart ached for his homeland. Exile, though not the confines of a prison, was still a harsh punishment. Letters penned during this time revealed his frustration, yearning, and steadfast desire for justice and freedom for the Philippines.
While Rizal may have embraced the opportunities Dapitan offered, it is unlikely that he found true enjoyment in his exile. His actions and words spoke of a deep longing for his family, friends, and the larger Philippine society. His unwavering commitment to the cause of Philippine independence was a testament to his unyielding spirit and love for his country.
    2. Rizal's presence in Dapitan was nothing short of transformative, as he left an enduring legacy through his unparalleled commitment to education and healthcare. His contributions went beyond the confines of his exile, deeply impacting the lives of the local community.
In establishing a school, Rizal unlocked the doors to intellectual enlightenment and empowerment. His teachings in various subjects, coupled with his emphasis on critical thinking, sparked a flame of knowledge that would illuminate the minds of his students for generations to come. His vision went beyond textbooks; he sought to shape individuals who would challenge societal norms and become catalysts for change.
Furthermore, Rizal's medical expertise brought healing and hope to the people of Dapitan. His clinic became a sanctuary for the sick, where he performed surgeries and provided compassionate care. By tending to their physical ailments, he not only alleviated their suffering but also inspired a sense of trust and gratitude that would forever be etched in their hearts.
Rizal's greatest contribution, therefore, lies in the profound impact he had on the minds and well-being of the people of Dapitan. Through education and healthcare, he kindled the flames of knowledge and nurtured the flames of hope, leaving an indelible mark on the community that would continue to flicker long after his time in Dapitan.

    1) I am of the impression that although Dr. Jose Rizal was in exile, he did not necessarily suffer during his time there. It’s evident that he was treated with dignity, and received as a friend by the governor of the place - this tells us that he was not in a state of oppression during this story arc.
It has been observed that Rizal was able to establish multiple roles and systems while in his time there, which could mean that he was well accepted in the place, and he did not live in isolation. So, I do think that he enjoyed his stay there, despite the formality of being in a state of exile.
    2) I think that Rizal’s greatest contribution was his very presence. Of course, setting up a school is easily the most valuable asset a modern society needs to excel, but having a man of his stature there inspires the people to break out of their ideals, and strive for something higher.
In summary, all that he did, as numerous as it was, only points up to how capable one person can be. And by the transitive property, how capable each and every one of them can be on their own accord. I’m sure that he has graced this place with his higher ideals, and the people will not be satisfied again with less.

    1) Rizal's time spent in Dapitan was a formative one, during which he engaged in intellectual pursuits, provided service to the community, and developed personally. Although he was given restrictions and limitation during his exile, he somehow enjoyed his stay there. Based on the video I have watched, Rizal worked on a variety of projects. He founded a school where he instructed local students in subjects like math and science. He established a farm and experimented with various crops and methods as he pursued his interests in agriculture. Rizal participated in public health initiatives, offering the community medical care and promoting sanitation practices. Rizal initially missed his home country but eventually found peace and happiness in Dapitan. He established close ties with the neighborhood and gained their respect and confidence. Rizal was able to have a positive influence on the residents of Dapitan thanks to his dedication to both education and public service. Rizal must have missed his family and hometown, but with his achievements in Dapitan make me believe that although he was in exile he still enjoyed his stay there.
    2) The greatest contribution that Rizal made to Dapitan was his commitment to education and his efforts to elevate the community through knowledge. Through his school, teaching methods, and community involvement, he provided education to the people of Dapitan and instilled in them the value of education for personal and societal advancement. His contributions were consistent with his vision for a more enlightened and empowered Filipino nation and had a lasting impact on the community. Not only did Rizal's contributions to Dapitan affect the local community, but they also had broader significance. His emphasis on education and belief in the power of knowledge were congruent with his nationalistic principles. Rizal contributed to the larger objective of empowering the Filipino people and fostering a sense of national identity by promoting education and enlightenment in Dapitan.
    3) Yes.
Bonus: The video is about a boy who struggled to understand what Jose Rizal meant about "kabataan and pag-asa ng bayan". He keeps on comparing their lives, and he believes that Jose Rizal's life is perfect compared to him. He is struggling so much in life, like how his father is abusing him, he has to work at a young age, and how he wanted to study but his mind is very clouded. Although he had a difficult time during his childhood, he still became a teacher. Rizal's life is significant to the writer of the video because he may have encountered some difficulties while growing up but it did not stop him from making big achievements in his life. He believed that Rizal's life was perfect but like him, Rizal also faced some challenges but still make big impacts for our country.

On the looks on how Jose Rizal's qualities I think he enjoyed his stay in Dapitan. One of the reason's is the higher ups and the cabin befriending him specifically the politico-military governor of Dapitan which makes his stay more at peace. Another reason is the mere number of memories he have in Dapitan on the four years of his stay in the district it is no wonder that he have created many memories in that place including his relation to Josephine Bracken, helping the city on different things such as in water system and building an education system in the place as one of his legacies. And those are the things on why I think he enjoyed his exile in that place.
    2)
I think Jose Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan is his directing of the Dapitan's water system. The reason this is because water is one of the most essential thing on the world. Having no direct access to a clean drinking and bathing water was a big humanitarian crisis. Jose Rizal being able to direct Dapitan's water system was a big feat that could be used for the future since not like other things, water is important and essential on humans. Also, water is important in education since water gives essential nutrients to help us live and we also need water to take a bath. Considering on these matters, it is no wonder why water is important and why his directing on Dapitan's water system on clean and accessible water was his greatest contribution in the place.

    1. I think a small part of Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan. We all know that he helps the people in Dapitan when he won a lottery, he had a lot of activities and ideas, he is the first to build a school, and he even became a teacher and a rural doctor and a lot more contributions. I personally think that the life of Rizal in Dapitan had a lot of ups and downs as he knew that something was coming or something was up when he was shipped on board on the way to Dapitan, though he was given a good cabin and well guarded I think Rizal was really brave for the possible events that may happen to him. We all know that the place in Dapitan where Rizal was exiled was swampy with unplanned streets, no portable water, and people dying from different diseases, but Rizal did not show any sign that he is scared or even nervousness when he was captured. Rizal even had his love life in Dapitan with Josephine Bracken, the two want to get married but sadly, they failed. And their son Francisco died because of common-law marriage.
    2. I think the greatest contribution of Rizal in Dapitan is when he helps the people in Dapitan and he had a lot of contributions. I personally think that all of these are very important but Rizal being a teacher, setting up a school, being a rural teacher, showing a way to community development, and being professional to engage in business stood out the most for me. All of these had a massive impact on us Filipinos, as Rizal help the Filipinos to gain knowledge by giving them education, teaching them business-related, and even helping them when it comes to their health. As we all know that our country Philippines really needed this kind of treatment in order for us to be wise and smart. Rizal is their number 1 helper in all of those things. It shows the love of Rizal for his people and his country.

Based on the video lecture on Rizal's life in Dapitan, I believe he enjoyed his exile there. This is due to the fact that he engaged in activities that helped him develop his ideas on practical leadership, self-improvement, and community development, which strengthened his patriotism. Through his teachings, he improved the living conditions of the people in Dapitan. Additionally, he formed friendships, including one with Don Ricardo Carnicero, the politico-military Governor of Dapitan, and Josephine Bracken, who became his common-law wife. However, their union was only considered a common-law marriage due to Fr. Obach's stance on "No retraction, No Marriage".
    2.
In my view, Rizal's most significant contribution to Dapitan was his community development efforts. Upon his arrival, Dapitan was reportedly characterized by swampy surroundings, poorly planned streets, a lack of potable water and lighting, inadequate medical services, and a weak economy. However, Rizal was able to address these issues by implementing his ideas of leadership and nationalism, which led to the construction of various infrastructures that benefitted the community. He also improved the plaza's aesthetics, facilitated the installation of lampposts, and oversaw the development of a water system. Additionally, Rizal assisted local farmers and fishermen to enhance their productivity and earnings.

    1. While in Dapitan, Rizal's life was a mix of joy and uncertainty. His time in Dapitan gave him the opportunity to put the knowledge and lessons he had acquired during his life to use in a variety of various activities. He won the Spanish lottery while he was living in Dapitan and used the proceeds to help those who lived there. He started working as a doctor in rural areas. Rizal gave his patients, the majority of whom were underprivileged, free medication. Even though he continued to lead a basic life, he was able to adapt and assist the populace, meeting some of their needs for things like healthcare, education, and other programs that the entire city could use. His life was made happy and rewarding by playing the lotto and working with and creating relationships for farmers. Rizal also thought about imparting to children a feeling of nationalism and the idea that communal growth should be for everyone, not just some.
    2. I think the knowledge he taught to the residents of Dapitan was his biggest contribution there. The knowledge and abilities that Dr. Jose Rizal taught the populace may have been his greatest contribution to Dapitan. His expertise has assisted the people of Dapitan in improving their quality of life by, for example, pushing them to discover more effective farming techniques to increase their earnings. He arrived in Dapitan when it was still undeveloped, but he never stopped working for the people there to give them a better place to live. He created clinics for his patients, educational institutions for the youngsters, and water systems to supply the people with clean, drinkable water. He didn't simply use his abilities for himself; he also made the greatest use of them for those around him. If it wasn’t for Rizal, the people in Dapitan would’ve stayed poor and helpless. He was able to use and share what he was good at for the benefit of other Filipinos, which makes it a remarkable contribution.

    1) Rizal had an eventful life when he was exiled to Dapitan. He won the lottery, built houses for people, did town planning and beautification, and developed a system where the community would improve further. He also met his last lover, Josephine Bracken during his time in Dapitan. Rizal had enjoyed his exile because he spent his time developing the town with the knowledge he gained overseas and he also met his last lover, Josephine Bracken.
    2) Rizal gave a lot of contributions which improved Dapitan; homes for the people, schoolhouses, clinics, town beautification and planning. The greatest contribution which improved the town was his introduction to the principles of livelihood and self-reliance programs. A community thrives when money has a continuous flow throughout the whole town making it alive. With Rizal introducing the principles of livelihood, people in the community would understand its concept to apply it in their daily lives. Also being knowledgeable of being self-reliant, the people in Dapitan would be able to handle the community by themselves without always depending on the Spanish government.

Jose Rizal was exiled to Dapitan, a small town in Mindanao, from 1892 to 1896. During his four years in Dapitan, Rizal made significant contributions to the community in the areas of education, medicine, agriculture, and infrastructure. He also continued to write and advocate for Philippine independence. His first act upon arriving in Dapitan was to establish a school for boys and girls. He taught his students a variety of subjects, including Spanish, English, mathematics, history, and science. He also taught them about Philippine culture and history. Rizal's school was very popular, and he had over 100 students. He also practiced medicine in Dapitan. He treated both the rich and the poor, and he often did not charge for his services. He also established a pharmacy in Dapitan, where he sold medicine and medical supplies. He was also interested in agriculture. He experimented with different crops and methods of farming, and he was able to increase the productivity of the land. He also built a water system to irrigate his crops. Rizal's agricultural innovations helped to improve the lives of the people of Dapitan. Overall, it is fair to say that Rizal did enjoy his exile in Dapitan, but it was also a time of great sadness and uncertainty for him. He was a man of great intellect and ambition, and he was not meant to be exiled in a remote town. However, he made the best of his situation, and he used his time in Dapitan to make a positive impact on the lives of others. He wanted to replicate all the things he achieved in Dapitan, in the whole country.
Jose Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his work in improving the lives of the people there. He established a school, a hospital, and a water system. He also helped to improve the economy by starting a business and by teaching the people how to farm and fish. Rizal's work in Dapitan made him a beloved figure among the people, and it helped to inspire the Philippine Revolution. I personally believe that one of Rizal's greatest contributions in Dapitan was his work in education because knowledge is a powerful weapon in which no one can take away; and he helped tons of children learn and be knowledgeable for free. He established a school where he taught the people of Dapitan the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic. He also taught them about their history and culture. His school was open to all, regardless of social class. He believed that education was the key to progress, and he wanted to give everyone the opportunity to learn. Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his example. He showed the people of Dapitan that it was possible to improve their lives through education, health care, and economic development. He also showed them that it was possible to fight for their freedom. Rizal's example inspired the people of Dapitan to join the Philippine Revolution, and it helped to make the Philippines an independent nation.
    Yes
    Bonus Question:
Jose Rizal's life is significant to youths with deviant behaviors because he was a symbol of hope and inspiration. He showed that it was possible to overcome adversity and achieve great things, even if you came from a disadvantaged background. Rizal was also a strong advocate for education and social justice, which are important values for deviant youths. He used his talents to write about the oppression of the Filipino people by the Spanish colonial government. He also wrote about the importance of education and social justice. He was a symbol of hope and inspiration for the Filipino people, and he can be a symbol of hope and inspiration for deviant youths as well. Rizal's writings also emphasize the importance of education and social justice, which are important values for youths with deviant behaviors. His life and works are a valuable resource for a lot of people; especially those who engage in unusual activities because his life story can provide hope, inspiration, and guidance to help these young people overcome their challenges and lead productive lives. Exactly like how the life of the protagonist on the video letter turned out. He may not come out as a hero like how he keeps saying on the video, but he was able to turn his life around and he overcame the challenges he had in his childhood.

    1. Rizal was able to exercise and to help the pre-existing community in Dapitan. He was able to enhance his concepts of practical leadership and nationalism as he believed that self-improvement and community development are vital in national integrity and good governance. Also, he made history as he made several “firsts” during his stay there such as being the first rural doctor, first teacher, first flora and fauna collector in Mindanao, first Filipino doctor with a social conscience, and the like. Also, he met one of his lovers while being there. He met Josephine Bracken and he wanted to get married to her yet the priest did not allow that due to Rizal being a defiant of the government.
    2. For me, I think that Rizal’s greatest contribution in Dapitan was his love for the people. He helped them to improve their way of living. When he arrived at the island, he witnessed that there was no potable water and lighting system, people were dying because of different diseases as there was no proper medical services yet, and the economy relied on primitive agriculture and an undeveloped fishing industry. He used the money that he won in a Spanish lottery to buy 70 hectares in Talisay, built houses for him and for the people, a clinic, and a school. He also beautified the plaza and facilitated the construction of a water system and lampposts at every corner of the town. He also organized an association of farmers to improve farm production and generate higher incomes as well as providing fishnets to help the fishermen.

    1) Jose Rizal being exiled in Dapitan, you would normally think that his life would be miserable. However, this is not the case. Even though Jose Rizal was exiled to Dapitan, his life there was fruitful and productive. He was able to purchase land to build houses, clinics, and schools. He was also able to beautify the plaza in Dapitan. Jose Rizal became the first to many improvements in Dapitan such as the existence of social and environmental engineering, school, and clinic in which he also became the first doctor, ophthalmic surgeon, and teacher. With all his achievements in Dapitan, I could easily say that he enjoyed his stay in Dapitan.
    2) The greatest contribution of Jose Rizal in Dapitan is the introduction of the principles of livelihood and self-reliance programs. With this, the people of Dapitan would be able to develop the area and integrate their own ideas towards progress. Livelihood principles provided the people of Dapitan with the strategies that they could take to achieve their goals. On the other hand, self-reliance programs provided the people of Dapitan with how to conduct these strategies on their own. To put it simply, this is a safety measure put up by Jose Rizal so that Dapitan would be able to progress even further even in his absence.

    1) From my perspective, I think Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan because of the works he did in the Place. Rizal enjoyed his stay there because, after several lectures, I think we can conclude that Rizal found joy from learning and teaching for leisure or for nationalistic purposes; in Dapitan he did both of these things. Rizal maximized his time there, causing him to become the first in several things. Rizal perhaps found enjoyment in Dapitan that he achieved so many things there - even the beautification of the place. He also almost married Josephine Bracken in Dapitan - out of all places.

    2) I think Rizal’s greatest contribution in Dapitan was when he facilitated the development of the community by helping farmers attain higher farm productions and income, introducing social and environmental engineering, improving the livelihood of the people in Dapitan, further developing the fishing industry in Dapitan, setting up schools and teaching pupils, etc. Dapitan - a once desolated place, was developed by Rizal. Rizal made Dapitan an economically competitive place. Also, Rizal’s contribution to Dapitan was perhaps a result of his love for the country because, as stated in the lecture, “Self improvement and community development are vital in national integrity and good governance.”

1). During his exile in Dapitan, Rizal led a fairly humble life. Rizal had established an informal school where he taught a number of children. He also had patients that sought him out in order to be healed. He also enjoys participating in agricultural activities. Rizal even fell in love with Josephine Bracken and began an intimate connection with her. Rizal lived a humble yet worthwhile life in Dapitan. It is unsurprising that the people of Dapitan felt strongly about Rizal after he left. The people of Dapitan were helped and motivated by our hero. Rizal teaches us that despite barriers, we can still make positive impacts no matter who or what we are. We should not be afraid because we are all capable of assisting one another. We should not be limited by the things that surround us.
2). Rizal had maximized his stay in Dapitan by devoting much of his time in improving his artistic and literary skills; doing agricultural and civic projects; engaging in business activities, and writing letters to his friends in Europe, particularly to Ferdinand Blumentritt and Reinhold Rost. Rizal improved the town's drainage and built a better water system utilizing empty bottles and bamboo joints, among other things. He also lectured the residents about health and cleanliness in order to prevent illness transmission.

    1) During his exile in Dapitan imposed by the Spanish government, Jose Rizal made the most of his time by engaging in various activities that showcased his versatility and intellect. He dedicated himself to practicing medicine and providing healthcare services to the local community, engaging in agricultural activities, and establishing a model farm. Rizal also conducted scientific experiments, studied languages, contributed articles to scientific journals, and established a school to educate students. Despite the challenges and restrictions of exile, Rizal found fulfillment in serving others, promoting education, and advancing scientific knowledge. However, his letters and writings expressed a longing for freedom and a desire to contribute to political and social changes in the Philippines. Rizal's time in Dapitan provided him with a temporary refuge, but his ultimate goal remained the reform and liberation of his country from Spanish colonial rule.
    2) During his exile in Dapitan, Jose Rizal made significant contributions to the local community. His greatest contribution was his dedication to public service and his impact on various aspects of community development. Rizal provided medical assistance to the locals, establishing a clinic and treating patients who couldn't afford healthcare. His skills as a physician and genuine concern for others made a lasting impact. Additionally, Rizal improved agricultural practices by establishing a model farm and introducing modern techniques, which uplifted the economic conditions of the community. He also prioritized education by establishing a school where he taught various subjects, fostering critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. Rizal's commitment to public service, healthcare, agriculture, and education showcased his selfless dedication to improving the lives of those around him. I think that Rizal had lived an excellent life in Dapitan. While he had less connections with other people since he has been exiled to Mindanao, he did try his best to improve the dull-looking town at which he lived in. He first saw the moment he entered the town as a desolate place, to which people would less likely to live in due to uninhabitable conditions. Initially, for me he would not like this place, however with his high intellect and the knowledge he learned during his travels, he transformed the town to which it was more beautiful and suitable for people to live. Slowly, Rizal organized everything to which he handled school, business, knowledge, introduced new learnings, and beautified the place. It was the dream he wished for the Philippines to be, to transform the country into a beautiful place for every Filipino to comfortably live in. Even though he accomplished it in a small town, for me he was still happy because he was still able to accomplish his goal even in a small scale. He saw a glimpse of hope that even a small desolate town can be transformed into a beautiful place as long as there is good governance.
For me, Rizal's greatest contribution would be the improvement and beautification of the town, from providing schools to improving the economy and the needs of the people. He felt like he wanted to improve upon the town since it is unsuitable for people to live in. He built his house in Dapitan, however he also built houses for his pupils, clinics, and a school. This would provide people to have a good place to live, have good education, as well a place to have check-ups. He even beautified the plaza, improved the water systems, farm production and fishing industry. As a result, people would have a clean water to drink, and have food to feed, and the town look spectacular than before. He did a lot as well during his stay in Dapitan, however the improvement of the town for me was the greatest contribution that Rizal had ever made. This have made a lot of people happy since before it was not a good-looking place, however as Rizal improved it, the townsfolk became happy and will be forever thankful that Rizal took his time and effort for the town and for the people.

    1. Rizal spent the first portion of his exile in Dapitan in the commandant's house. He purchased a plot of land along the beach of Talisay near Dapitan with his winnings from the Spanish Lottery and his earnings as a farmer and trader. He erected three dwellings on this site, all of which were made of bamboo, wood, and nipa. His residence was the first square-shaped dwelling. The second home housed his students' living quarters. I think he enjoyed his exile in this place because he was still able to make his situation productive. In the sense that he created a cooperative even in exile, he has taught the impoverished Mindanao folk to join commerce in order to become independent and liberate themselves from the Chinese, and therefore become less exploited. While many individuals might fear, despair, or lose hope in their life as a result of their exile, Jose Rizal remained to serve his nation. This is what distinguished Jose Rizal as a national hero above the others. He was unquestionably a guy of action. He always placed his compatriots ahead of himself. Moreover, this exile also enhanced his nationalism and affection for his family, the people of Dapitan, and the place where he found pleasure. When he was in this place, I admired his community projects, which included a water system and a lighting system that made people's lives better.
    2. Rizal's productive years in Dapitan changed the Dapitanons' lives, attitudes, and consciousness. Simple pleasures guided his exemplary life-cultivating the land, educating the brains of the young, promoting thrift and industry, fostering artistry and innovation, and demonstrating compassion through collective health and welfare. I believe Rizal's biggest contribution to Dapitan was his participation in civic initiatives in Dapitan. He saw the province's deplorable state upon his arrival. He drained Dapitan's wetlands to eliminate them of malaria-carrying insects. Out of the money he made as a physician, he also supplied a lighting system in the province, with coconut oil lights placed in gloomy alleyways. He improved Dapitan by redesigning the town plaza with the help of his Jesuit teacher, Fr. Francisco Sanchez, he used stones, soil, and grass to build a relief map of Mindanao directly in front of the church.

    1. I think that Jose Rizal managed to make the most of his time in Dapitan despite being exiled. The politico-military Governor of Dapitan treated Jose Rizal like a friend. He enhanced his concept of practical leadership and nationalism and self-development and community development in national integrity and good governance with the activities he did during his stay. We know that Jose Rizal is determining learn various things so even if he has done so many activities, it is still an advantage and enjoyment for Jose Rizal. He also meets Josephine Bracken, his last love, even though they are not married, they still have a live in relationship.
    2. I think it would be the list of what the first thing happened in Dapitan that was started by Jose Rizal. Such as being the first to introduce social and environmental engineering, first to show the way to develop their community, first to introduce the principles of livelihood and self-reliance programs, etc. especially the part where Jose Rizal set up a school and became a teacher. He committed his life to teaching and giving young people a free education, placing a strong emphasis on the value of education and critical thinking. He was determined that education was essential for both individual development and societal advancement.
Bonus: The video is about Jojo's story, experience, perspective and opinions on what is today's generation. He talked about how will today's generation be the hope of the youth since he thinks that most of the youth are not like Jose Rizal or anything special. He compared himself to what Jose Rizal did and experience making him more unstable because of his not healthy environment. Even though he had hardships, he still thought about what Jose Rizal said and achieved which why at the end of the video letter, he was able to overcome it and became a teacher to inspire and motivate the youth just like Jose Rizal.

    1. During his exile in Dapitan from 1892 to 1896, Jose Rizal faced both challenges and moments of happiness. Despite the difficulties, it can be argued that he found enjoyment in his time there. Rizal actively engaged in various activities and made significant contributions to the community. He utilized his lottery winnings which is 1000php to buy 70 hectares of land, where he built houses, a clinic, and a school. He also beautified the plaza and improve the production and incomes of local farmers. Furthermore, Rizal initiated the construction of a water system and provided medical assistance to enhance the lives of the residents in Dapitan. Overall, he seemed content during his stay, as he was able to fulfill his purpose by making valuable contributions to education, community development, and healthcare.
    2. Jose Rizal's most significant contribution in Dapitan was his prioritization of education, which he demonstrated by establishing a school on the land he purchased in Talisay. His primary goal was to empower students and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to uplift both themselves and the community. Rizal firmly believed that education was the key to breaking the cycles of ignorance and poverty. In his school, he emphasized not only academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, history, and geography but also practical skills and vocational training that would enable individuals to contribute to the economic growth of the community. He recognized that a well-balanced education involved not just intellectual knowledge but also the development of practical abilities. By highlighting the importance of practical skills, Rizal ensures that students were not solely focused on theoretical knowledge but also equipped with hands-on capabilities. This approach aims to enable students to become self-sufficient and make meaningful contributions to the economic development of their community. In summary, Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his commitment to education. By establishing a school and emphasizing both academic subjects and practical skills, he aimed to empower students, break the cycle of poverty by acquiring and finishing education, and foster community growth. He believed that education was not only about gaining knowledge but also about providing individuals with the tools to improve their lives and make a positive impact on the community.

He is currently a grade five student and was uncertain about his age due to his challenging circumstances. He reflects and questions Rizal on the kind of youth that can bring hope to their country, as he never had the opportunity to experience a normal youth due to his father's abuse. In contrast to his father, Jojo's mother is religious and supportive of his education because she sees it as a solution to their problems. Jojo finds inspiration in the life of Jose Rizal and wonders how he can become just like Rizal. Towards the end of the video, it is revealed that Jojo becomes a teacher and imparts lessons about Rizal's life to his students. This outcome indicates that Jojo found the answers to his questions and, with education and determination, has become a symbol of hope himself just like his idol Jose Rizal.

    1. Rizal's presence in Dapitan is quite different from the one he was used to. His life there may be described as modest but fulfilling. When Rizal came to Dapitan, it was still mostly undeveloped. Locals in Dapitan were also suffering from a health crisis due to a lack of competent medical care. However, I do think that he enjoyed his exile in Dapitan because it gave Jose Rizal a motivation to rebuild and polish Dapitan like it is Manila. By winning 1000 pesos from the Spanish Lottery, He bought 70 hectares and built houses for his patients and pupils, school, and clinic. He also made the plaza beautiful and constructed the water system. He organized the farmers to improve the farm production and generate more incomes. He also improved the development of the fishing industry. Lastly, Jose Rizal met Josephine Bracken in Dapitan which was his wife who he cherished dearly.
    2. His greatest contribution to Dapitan, in my opinion, was that he used his expertise and skills to rehabilitate and beautify the place. During his exile, he was unable to spread his influence throughout the country, but he was able to develop Dapitan. When Jose Rizal was exiled in Dapitan, the city was still undeveloped, yet he did not hesitate to assist the people of Dapitan in making their home a better place. He served as a positive role model for the individuals that lived there. He was an inspiration who demonstrated exceptional leadership and patriotism. He used his skills and talents to benefit those around him rather than just himself. In order words, he was able to help the people of Dapitan by using his knowledge and skills.

1.) The years that Dr. Jose Rizal spent living in Dapitan were some of the most eventful of his life. Everything started when he was famous and the Spaniards feared him because of his popularity. As a result, they paid close attention to his every move and searched every house where he had been as well as suspected any Filipinos who were seen in his company. In later years, as a consequence of this, he was banished to Dapitan. Rizal went through one of the most productive phases of his life during the time that Dapitan served as the sole witness. During this time, Rizal served the people and the society through his civic works, medical practices, land development, and promotion of education, rather than "he" living in exile. Around this time, he established the very first educational institution in Dapitan.
2.) There are many things that Doctor Jose Rizal did while he was in Dapitan, and all of them are recognized. This is due to the fact that Rizal made the most of his time in Dapitan by focusing a significant portion of it on the development of his artistic and literary abilities; participating in agricultural and civic projects; engaging in business activities; and writing. Rizal gave away free medicine to his patients, the majority of whom came from disadvantaged backgrounds. He was responsible for establishing a school in Dapitan, which was attended by 16 young boys hailing from influential families. Dr. Jose Rizal also invested time and effort into the cultivation of significant crops and trees that bore fruit. This are some of the things that I think was the greatest contribution of Rizal in Dapitan.

1.) I could say based on what I have learned from the lecture video that the stay of Dr. Jose Rizal in Dapitan really tested his nationality and his faith on his principle as a person who loves his country so much. There were times that he felt difficulties in his couple years in Dapitan. He felt locked in Dapitan because he was not able to go outside of it. There were times where the parish priest there offered him to live in the parish convent in exchange of he will publicly retract his errors concerning religion, perform the church rites and make a general confession of his past life, and that he will conduct himself in an exemplary manner as a Spanish subject and a man of religion. But because of his principle, he denied the offer of the parish priest. He knows that what he was done was right and it was all for the seek of our country's independence.
2.) Rizal have made a lot of contribution in Dapitan during his stay there. Especially when he won the lottery that is worth of 100 pesos. He used the money to innovate the way of living for the people there. He was the first to introduce social and environmental engineering and he also introduce the principles of livelihood and self-reliance programs. It became a a large contributions so that his knowledge would be shared to the people living in Dapitan. He was also the first man to set up a school there which he became the first ever teacher and rural doctor in the area. Many people benefited from the works of Rizal. Not only through his novels and essays, but also to his physical contributions to his fellow countrymen. These works have many lives and it also educates a lot of people about the knowledge the Rizal shared to them.

    1. While in Dapitan, Rizal engaged in various projects that showcased his diverse skills. He established a farm where he practiced modern agriculture, grew crops, and raised cattle. Additionally, he built a water system, a school, and a hospital which helped the village in its growth. Despite facing challenges, Rizal continued his hobbies and made significant contributions to the community. He longed for the ability to participate in politics and the Philippine uprising against Spanish rule. His involvement with underground organizations and communication with other revolutionaries suggested that he was dedicated to fighting for Philippine independence. Although Rizal found comfort in his academic pursuits and the affection of the people of Dapitan, it is doubtful that he truly enjoyed his exile. He yearned to return to his home country and take part in the fight for liberation. Despite the wonderful aspects of life in Dapitan, he was tormented by his love for his homeland and his unfulfilled goal.
    2. Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his dedication to education and his efforts to uplift the community through knowledge and skills development. He established a school, where he taught local children and shared his vast knowledge in various subjects.Through his school, Rizal aimed to provide quality education to the youth, empowering them with the tools they needed to improve their lives and contribute to society. He taught subjects such as mathematics, science, English, and even encouraged the study of agriculture and vocational skills. Rizal believed that education was crucial for progress and liberation from oppression. Overall, Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his relentless pursuit of education and his belief in its transformative power. By enlightening the minds of the youth and empowering them with knowledge and skills, he paved the way for a brighter future and laid the foundations for progress in Dapitan and beyond.
    3. YES
BONUS: The phrase "Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" emphasizes the important role that youth play in shaping the future of a nation. To become competent and responsible citizens, young people should prioritize education to acquire knowledge and skills. They should also actively engage in civic activities and participate in the democratic processes of their country. However, the reality is that some young individuals face the deeply challenging and distressing situation of abuse. Growing up in an abusive environment can have severe emotional, psychological, and physical consequences. These individuals may struggle to understand the meaning behind "Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan", as they face specific circumstances that hinder their growth. Despite this, Rizal's works continue to inspire and remind us of the youth's potential to make a positive impact and shape the future of their country.

    1. Rizal's life in Dapitan was very productive, I mean he accomplished a lot of things that can be a reason for his new learnings and realizations. I think he enjoyed his exile in Dapitan because he made a lot of things and helped a lot of people. He won in Spanish lottery that makes him be able to buy his own house and build a clinic and school that makes him improve his nationalism and leadership. He could live a happy life with his money but he chose to use it to improve the environment and help the people in need, he is a selfless man.
    2. Just like I said in the first question. Aside from building houses and school for his pupils, one thing that his greatest contribution in Dapitan was develop or improve its agricultural industry by establishing an association of farmers and fishers that makes it improve its farm production and generate more incomes.

    1. His life in Dapitan is full of adventure despite of his exile. His adventure is not just to enjoy his life, but to make it more meaningful. Based on the lecture video, there are residents who succumb to deadly infectious diseases because there are no available medical services in that area. And Rizal came and became a rural doctor. Another thing is the primitive agriculture where he improves it by putting up livelihood programs. Rizal’s adventurous exile proves that there are problems that should not be a problem for a lifetime. But instead, a firm solution was laid out.
    2. One of his greatest contributions in Dapitan are: rural and urban planning by putting up lamp post, putting up a water system as well as the sanitary and environmental engineering. In health aspects, he became a doctor, and ophthalmic surgeon. In terms of agriculture and livelihood, he putted up an association for farmers that help them improve their farm production and harvest. In terms of education, he put up a school were the children of Dapitan can study and Rizal became a teacher there, the way to community development and engagement in business activities.

    1. Rizal's life in Dapitan was poor but joyful and productive. He was exiled to Dapitan on July 17, 1892, this place was a swampy with unplanned streets, no potable water, no lighting system, and a primitive agriculture with undeveloped fishing industry. Despite all of this, I think Jose Rizal enjoyed his stay in this place because he manages to help the people there and he also transformed the place to a beautiful one. He done a lot of things to this place including, building houses for pupils and patients, a clinic school, he beautified the plaza and facilitated the putting of lamppost in every corner of the town, he also led an association of farmers to improve farm production.
    2. Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was he was able to share his knowledge in leadership and nationalism, also in community development. Before he was exile in Dapitan, the place was a dark and has no life, but during his stay there, he manages to become resourceful and productive to help the people of Dapitan. He helped the people to see the light in the darkness of the night, built school and clinic for the residents, he helped the people to rise in life. Also, in Dapitan he was the first to introduce social and environmental engineering, first doctor, teacher, first to set up school, and many more. In his 4 years of stay there he was able to change the life of the people.

    (1) I would describe Jose Rizal's life in Dapitan as a productive exile. Knowing Jose Rizal, I think that he did enjoy his exile in this place because he got to apply what he had learned all his life to the place of Dapitan, from his mother to elementary and high school, up until his travels. I think that if he did not enjoy his stay in Dapitan, Jose Rizal would not be able to build houses for his pupils and patients, beautify the plaza, and facilitate putting up lampposts at every corner of the town. Jose Rizal also helps farmers improve farm production and generate higher incomes by organizing an association for them. He also achieved many firsts in Dapitan, such as the first rural doctor, teacher, sanitary engineer, etc., that is greatly needed by the community of Dapitan. I can say that Jose Rizal did find happiness in helping other people despite being an exiled person.
    (2) I think that the most significant contribution of Jose Rizal to the people of Dapitan was his enhanced concept of practical leadership and nationalism. Jose Rizal's leadership led the people of Dapitan to improve their quality of life. Jose Rizal built a clinic for the sick to be nursed back to health and school for the children to have the knowledge that will help them in their future. He also led the agricultural sector of the community, helping the farmers and fishers to improve their productivity and generate higher income by forming an association to share his knowledge about agriculture and business efficiently.

1.During his exile in Dapitan, Rizal led a fairly humble life. Rizal had established an ad hoc school where he taught a number of children. He also had patients that sought him out in order to be healed. He also enjoys participating in agricultural activities. Rizal even fell in love with Josephine Bracken and began an intimate connection with her. In Dapitan, Rizal's life was basic.Even though Rizal was an exile in Dapitan, he was able to make the best of his situation. This may serve as a reminder that no matter what lifestyle we lead, we are still capable of doing anything; we can make a difference even in the smallest and most insignificant ways. We should not confine ourselves to a box, as Rizal did. Even as an exile, our hero was able to accomplish good things. He didn't put any restrictions on himself, instead, he accepted his surroundings.
2.Rizal made the most of his time in Dapitan by honing his creative and literary skills, working on agricultural and civic initiatives, engaging in economic activities, and penning letters to his European friends. Rizal supplied free medicine to his patients, the majority of whom were poor. He did, however, have wealthy patients who compensated him well for his great surgical skills.Rizal put his skills to use by building a waterworks system in Dapitan. Rizal earned the rank of expert surveyor during his academic career. He broadened his expertise by reading engineering-related publications, drawing on his actual experience as an expert surveyor. As a result, despite the lack of instruments at his disposal, he was able to build a good water system for the province.Rizal set up a school in Dapitan and was attended by 16 boys from a prominent family. Instead of charging them a registration fee, he had students do community projects for him, such as taking care of his gardens and fields. He taught them to read and write English and Spanish, geography, history, mathematics, industrial work, natural history, morals and gymnastics.

1.) Yes, I think Dr. Jose Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan, because he was given so much freedom and opportunity to live as a good model citizen and serve the people in Dapitan. He did a lot of good things for Dapitan, he was the first to build a school in Dapitan and also became the first teacher. He was also the first doctor to treat the patients there because the health care in Dapitan is not really good. He also met Josephine Bracken in Dapitan and formed an intimate relationship with her. Although Dr. Jose Rizal was an exile, he didn't live like a prisoner but instead helped the city to get better.
2.) I think Dr. Jose Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan is that he became the first doctor in Dapitan. The healthcare in Dapitan is not really good that time to the point that a lot of people is dying because no one can cure them, but when Dr. Jose Rizal came to this city he become the first doctor and helped a lot of people with their sickness. He did a lot for Dapitan while he was exiled, he persevered to help the people even though he is exiled. This is why Dr. Jose Rizal really deserves being the national hero of the Philippines.

    1. Rizal was exiled in Dapitan from 1892 to 1896. He supposedly lived there as a prisoner but he was able to make his four-year stay worth living and productive. He was able to serve the people in Dapitan by practicing his expertise. He provided free medicine to his unprivileged and privileged patients, constructed a water system, and built and established a school for boys with free education fees in exchange for doing community things for him and sharing his knowledge of modern methods for farming and fishing. The life of Rizal in Dapitan can remind us that whatever situation we may face and how unexciting it is, it still depends on us on how to make it worthwhile, meaningful, and fruitful.
    2. I think Rizal’s greatest contribution during his exile was his service and passion to help the people of Dapitan. Somehow he made their life bearable and livable in a way that he provided a good water system, free medicine to those unprivileged people, and equipment and tools for fishery and agriculture. He was able to share his knowledge with his students in terms of language, arts, science, history, and how to explore and jungle. This shows that he really cares about the people of his beloved country and will still make a difference and change even during his hard times.

    1. Rizal's life in Dapitan had made several improvements for himself in terms of leadership, nationalism, and national integrity. Despite being forced to live in a distant and unfamiliar place, Rizal found purpose, joy, and fulfillment during his time in Dapitan. One of the most evident proofs of Rizal's positive experience in Dapitan was his dedication to serving the community. During his stay, he built houses, a clinic, and a school, showing his commitment to improving the living conditions and education of the local people. His unwavering dedication to the welfare of others showcased his strong sense of nationalism and love for his homeland. Despite being away from the center of power and political influence, Rizal continued to contribute to the betterment of the Philippines through his actions in Dapitan. Moreover, Rizal's exile in Dapitan led him to meet Josephine Bracken, who became a significant person in his life. This romantic connection brought joy and happiness to Rizal's otherwise secluded life in exile.
    2. Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his constant strive for betterment. Firstly, One of Rizal's significant contributions was in the field of education. Recognizing the importance of knowledge and education in uplifting a society, Rizal adapted and applied the Atenean system of education in Dapitan. He established a school to provide quality education to the locals, aiming to empower them with the tools needed to pursue brighter futures. Secondly, another aspect of Rizal's impactful contributions was in the field of medicine. Realizing the lack of proper medical services in the region, he took it upon himself to build a clinic and serve as a doctor to the people of Dapitan. Lastly, Rizal engaged in engineering projects to improve the town's infrastructure and environment. He also introduced livelihood and self-reliance programs, empowering the locals to take charge of their economic well-being.
    BONUS:
The video is about an individual who seems confused as to what Rizal's quote "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan," means. He thinks he knows how to be the hope of the country, as he was hearing this quote for a long time in his 5th grade. However, he cannot truly apply what Rizal has quoted as poverty, abuse, and addiction are part and has affected his life negatively. But this is where Rizal's life become an inspiration for the writer of the video letter. He had finished his studies despite all the challenges, struggles, and messes he had encountered. Rizal's undying passion for education, perseverance through difficulties, and love for the nation had resulted to another individual of the same characteristics; a teacher with a dark past yet has a bright future for the country he is serving.

    1. Rizal lived a pretty simple life during his banishment in Dapitan. Rizal had built an informal school where he taught several children. He also had patients who went looking for him to get healed. He is also fond of doing agricultural pursuits. Rizal even fell in love and formed his intimate relationship with Josephine Bracken. Rizal’s life in Dapitan was simple, yet worthwhile. Even if Rizal was an exile in Dapitan, he was still able to make his situation productive. This may remind us that whatever lifestyle we may have, we are still capable of doing anything; we can make a difference even in the littlest and simplest ways. Just like Rizal, we should not lock ourselves in a box. Our hero managed to do good things even if he was an exile. He didn’t limit himself, he embraced his surroundings. It was the people who went looking for Rizal during that time. It was the parents who sent their children, and it was the people who travelled to have their eyes checked. Rizal may be an exile, but he did not live like a prisoner. He did not let himself be confined by the threats of the Spaniards, this even urged him to strive more and stand up against them. It seems that Rizal is a free prisoner.
    2. As a physician, Rizal provided free medicine to his patients, most of them were underprivileged. However, he also had wealthy patients who paid him well enough for his excellent surgical skill. Among them were Don Ignacio Tumarong who gave Rizal 3000 pesos for restoring his sight, an Englishman who gave him 500 pesos, and Aklanon haciendero, Don Francisco Azcarraga, who paid him a cargo of sugar. His skill was put into test in August 1893 when his mother,Dona Teodora Alonzo, was placed under opthalmic surgery for the third time. The operation was a success, however, Alonzo, ignored her son's instructions and removed the bandages in her eyes which lead to irritation and infection. As an engineer, Rizal applied his knowledge through the waterworks system he constructed in Dapitan. Going back to his academic life, Rizal obtained the title of expert surveyor (perito agrimensor) from the Ateneo Municipal. From his practical knowledge as agrimensor, he widened his knowledge by reading engineering-related books. As a result, despite the inadequacy of tools at hand, he successfully provided a good water system in the province. As an educator, Rizal established a school in Dapitan which was attended by 16 young boys from prominent families. Instead of charging them for the matriculation, he made the students do community projects for him like maintaining his garden and field. He taught them reading, writing in English and Spanish, geography, history, mathematics, industrial work, nature study, morals and gymnastics. He encouraged his students to engage in sports activities to strengthen their bodies as well. There was no formal room, like the typical classroom nowadays. Classes were conducted from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. with the teacher sitting on a hammock while the students sat on a long bamboo bench.
Bonus Question: The writer of the video showed the reality in life of the new generation of "kabataan", It showed us how life was really hard for some of the kids that was raised in a different kind of life especially those children who doesn't have a good role model of parents, they learn from their surroundings as they wonder how be a kid and how to be a good citizen as well. The life of the kid in the video is similar to the life of rizal when he was still alive. Rizal was not able to experience how to be a kid because ever since he was a kid, all he did was to dedicate himself to studying and achieving many things in life. He was raised very well by his mother but he still has flaws, like dating many girls etc. The video showed us that to be a hero like rizal, we never have to be perfect because we came in different kind of lives and we were raised different, but it is important to seek for what is right and we should make our actions right after making a mistake, we should make sure that we learn from our own and other's mistakes so we can improve as individuals as they say "kabataan ang pag asa ng bayan".

1.Dr. Rizal is a productive guy, hence his existence in Dapitan turned fruitful rather than miserable. There, he nurtured and realized some of his ideas. With his vast knowledge, he was able to effect change in the surroundings of his exile. He was able to beautify the plaza in Dapitan and form a farmer's organization, which later boosted agricultural output during his exile. Also, he was able to consistently accomplish what he desired, such as winning a lottery for 1,000 pesos, which he used to purchase a piece of land in Talisay, Batangas, and construct his own home. However, his life may seem to be fruitful, but it cannot be defined as pleasant and enjoyable since he was still mourning for the love opportunity he missed not only with the love of his life, Josephine, but also for the presence of his family. His exile kept him to many opportunities that he might have done for the country and for his personal desires.

    2. With his efforts throughout his tenure in Dapitan, the improvements he made in the area cannot and will never be discredited. Furthermore, I believe that his biggest accomplishment in Dapitan was demonstrating to the Filipinos there that community development is feasible and achievable. This contribution of his may have awakened the thoughts of Filipino people there to realize how they might create a better place and fully attain the benefits they can get from their homeland. Given that he was able to establish a school and become a teacher, the knowledge that he inculcated in the minds of the people there will forever be a part of their lives, and true to that, the people of Dapitan's ancestors were able to build-up and flourish their community to something they never thought possible.

I think Rizal did enjoy his life in Dapitan somehow because this is where he met Josephine Bracken the last love of his life and had a son with her but he died. After he won a lottery Rizal committed his time in Dapitan to charitable work, spreading knowledge, and scientific research. He founded a boys' school where he taught disciplines including arithmetic, science, and language. In addition, Rizal provided medical care by opening a clinic and treated the villagers. Despite his limited freedom, Rizal took comfort in Dapitan's natural splendor. He performed field research, gathered specimens, and investigated the neighborhood. He became good friends with the locals and took part in social gatherings. His letters and poems show a yearning for freedom and a desire to be with his loved ones, despite the fact that he made the best of his circumstance by engaging in important activities.
    2.)
His greatest contribution to Dapitan is education, healthcare, and community development. He established a school where he taught a variety of disciplines to local pupils there. This school played an important role in educating Dapitan's youth and fostering in them a sense of intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. Rizal's medical knowledge and dedication to public health also had a significant influence in Dapitan. He opened a clinic where he provided medical care to a large number of patients, including the poor and those suffering from illnesses like malaria. By providing accessible healthcare to those in need, Rizal's medical services enhanced the local community's quality of life. He calls Rizal "idol" not because he idolizes Rizal but it is because he is jealous of him. Rizal was imprisoned because of his love and dedication to the country. While Jojo is imprisoned to his own life problems. They are both imprisoned but in different ways. But at last, Jojo becomes successful in life reminiscing about Rizal and his greatness.

1.) I think Rizal enjoyed his stay in Dapitan. It is because he became very busy when he was there. When he won in the Spanish lottery of 1000 pesos, he spend it to help Dapitan and it's people. He seemed to enjoy his stay there because he was able to share not only his money, but also his time to Dapitan.
2.) I think Rizal's greatest contribution to Dapitan was helping the place and it's people. He changed and transformed Dapitan to become what he was dreaming of on how he can change his country. He was able to put up a house for his pupils and patients. Beautify the town plaza, helped the fishermen and farmers improve their production so as to generate more income. He became their first teacher and doctor. He helped Dapitan economically and socially.
Bonus question: The video is about a young man who was questioning Pepe (Jose Rizal). He was doubting Rizal when he said that the youth is hope of our country. The boy in the story is a troubled kid. He doesn't treat him well. He had vices at a young age that's why he was asking Rizal why can he become the hope of our country. But towards the end of the video, he saw him as a teacher. It means that despite what he had in his childhood, he was able to triumph changed himself to be a better person. Although Rizal may have had some regrets being exiled in a place where his influence was severely reduced, I believe that he enjoyed his time there. Rather than isolating himself or voicing out his frustrations, he instead made good use of his time and worked towards the betterment of Dapitan, which became all the better because of him. He treated the people, taught them, and even went as far as to set up a simple school and hospital for the people. Beyond all that, he also met (another) love of his, this time, someone who he felt much closer to.
    2.
I believe that Rizal’s greatest contribution to Dapitan was his presence and love for the Filipino people, after all, these were the ones that brought about all the other revolutionary things that he did for them, including schools, hospitals, and development of the land. He showed them that life could be so much more, so much better than they ever could have thought and brought a lot of firsts to their simple existence, which I’m sure they appreciated. In the end, Rizal’s stay there may have been intended as a punishment, but, in reality, it was a blessing in disguise.

He did a lot of activities in dapitan were he would have thought and wish he could have done for the Philippines. I think Dr. Jose Rizal somehow enjoyed his exile in this place, Dapitan. Even Don Ricardo Carnicero who was the Politico -military governor of Dapitan during the time when he was exile, He still treated Rizal as like a friend. Rizal did enjoy his stay in Dapitan as an exile since he did a lot of activities during the time of his stay. He introduces a lot of things during the time like Environmental Engineering, He became the first rural Doctor, he was even the first practitioner of town planning Beautification. He wouldnt have these things if he didn't enjoy his life there.

    1. During his four-year exile from 1892 to 1896, Rizal spent an extensive period in Dapitan. This time was filled with both personal struggles and achievements. I think he enjoyed and found fulfillment in some parts of his existence in Dapitan. However, he was also facing limitations and restrictions. Based on the information given in the video lecture, Rizal found fulfillment in what he did and had a huge impact on the people of Dapitan. In Dapitan, Rizal's life consisted of a combination of self-fulfillment, education, and contributions to the local community. He accepted his time in Dapitan and aimed to have a positive impact considering the difficulties and restrictions placed on him. Rizal's overall independence and well-being were affected by these limitations. But Rizal made the most of his situation and continued to work for the benefit of the Philippines even while he was in exile. However, it is difficult to say whether he actually "enjoyed" his exile.
    2. I think Rizal's greatest contribution to Dapitan was his establishment of a school and his dedication to education. He meant to provide the youth with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and a feeling of national identity by offering an education that went beyond only academics. His interaction with the people of Dapitan reflected his genuine concern for their well-being and his intention to improve the community as a whole. Rizal made significant and lasting contributions to education in Dapitan, which helped to shape the country's educational system and promote the growth of future leaders and reformers. Along with academic subjects like physics, English, and math, Rizal added principles like patriotism, civic duty, and social responsibility through his school. His dedication to education was driven by his conviction that a nation's progress and liberation depended on knowledge and education. He aspired to nurture future leaders who would contribute to the development of the Philippines and work toward social and political reform.

BONUS: The video is about a boy struggling to know what Rizal meant when Rizal stated that "Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng bayan." Comparing the life of the boy to his idol Rizal, he realized it was not easy living since he has a father that always beat him. He also thinks getting a lot of women will make him the hope for the country since Rizal was a womanizer. I think Rizal's life was significant to the writer of the video since his life and works impacted a lot of Filipino youth. The statement made by Rizal demonstrates his belief that young individuals may influence the future and accomplish significant changes. He understood that people were capable of standing up to oppression, defending their freedom, and actively taking part in attempts to develop their country. Despite having a bitter past of the boy, he became a teacher in the end and decided to teach young people that will also be the hope of the Philippines.

    1. Rizal's life in Dapitan was a significant period during his exile from 1892 to 1896. Despite being sent to Dapitan as a form of punishment, Rizal made the most of his time there and turned it into a productive and fulfilling experience. During his stay in Dapitan, Rizal engaged in various activities that showcased his versatility and passion. He established a school, taught subjects like mathematics, English, and agriculture, and provided free education to the youth in the community. Rizal also dedicated his time to medical practice, treating patients and conducting surgeries with limited resources. He initiated community projects such as building waterworks, a schoolhouse, and a hospital, contributing to the development of Dapitan. In addition to his educational and medical endeavors, Rizal immersed himself in scientific studies. He collected specimens of flora and fauna, creating a mini-museum and contributing to the field of natural sciences. Rizal also wrote numerous letters, articles, and poems during his exile, addressing social and political issues, sharing his ideas, and advocating for reforms.
    2. Rizal's greatest contribution in Dapitan was his establishment of a school and his dedication to education. By creating a school and providing free education to the youth in the community, Rizal empowered the local population with knowledge and skills that would have a lasting impact on their lives and their community. Through his teachings, Rizal instilled in his students not only academic knowledge but also a sense of nationalism, critical thinking, and moral values. He aimed to develop well-rounded individuals who would become future leaders and catalysts for positive change in society. Rizal's emphasis on education as a tool for empowerment and progress aligns with his broader advocacy for social reforms and national identity. Rizal's school in Dapitan also served as a platform for cultural exchange and understanding. Students from different backgrounds and social classes were welcomed and provided equal opportunities for education. This inclusive approach contributed to fostering unity and breaking down societal barriers.

    1. During his exile , Rizal spent an important part of his life in Dapitan. Though he took his exile in Dapitan at first as a form of punishment, Rizal eventually found ways to make the most of his time there. Despite the limitations placed on him, he managed to create structure and meaning in his new home. He pursued several interests, including teaching, medicine, agriculture, engineering, and helping the less fortunate. He opened a medical center and helped the villagers by treating their illnesses and even performed some surgical procedures. Rizal was held in high esteem because of his commitment to improving his society. Rizal worked as a farmer as well. He promoted the use of innovative farming methods and the growth of cash crops like abaca and coconuts. Dapitan benefited from Rizal's efforts to better it. He began the work on the waterworks that now supplies the town's residents with clean water on a consistent basis. From his time spent in Dapitan, it is possible to assume that Rizal found happiness and meaning while exiled. In Dapitan, Rizal displayed remarkable fortitude, ingenuity, and selflessness. He overcame obstacles to cultivate a prosperous surroundings despite serious limitations.
    2. Rizal's biggest contribution in Dapitan was the profound change he brought to education and his strong commitment to helping his students develop intellectually and morally. Rizal instituted forward-thinking pedagogical practices and hammered home the significance of morality, science, and critical thinking. Rizal's dedication to educating as many people as possible and making education and enlightenment available to all was shown by his decision to take his teachings outside the walls of his school. The educational reforms that Rizal instituted in Dapitan were his most lasting legacy there. He helped his students develop their minds, instill in them a love of country, and inspire them to think critically and ethically through his teaching both in the classroom and one-on-one. Rizal's impact went beyond the classroom because he taught his students the skills they needed to become agents of positive change in their communities. His commitment to education in Dapitan inspired a new wave of Filipinos to carry on the country's fight for freedom and equality.

Liham para kay Pepe talks about the "Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan". The boy in the video named Jojo kept on asking Dr. Jose Rizal about kabataan and how to be one of those pag-asa ng bayan. He is a grade 5 student who is not that serious in his studies and he is a kid who has bad habit like rugby. Dr. Jose Rizal was Jojo's idol. He might be confused about being a kid because he does not experience like one. He is always questioning what kind of youth will be the hope of our country because of what he knows and see, they just know how to eat, sleep, play, use their gadgets or surf Facebook all day and just being a burden to their family. He asked Dr. Jose Rizal "how to be you, idol?". He remembered something that Pepe said, "The person who works for material things, remove that material thing and that person will be lazy". I realized something from that line, there are some people who work so hard and spent thousands of hours for some material thing they want to buy but if we come to think of it, not all thing here on earth are permanent because all of these are just temporary. Rizal's life purpose to the writer was to make him realize that youth is the hope of our country. In every aspect, we can be the best version of ourselves and be a hero too like Pepe.

1.) Throughout 1892 to 1896, Rizal stayed in exile in the distant Mindanao town of Dapitan, which was under the religious administration of the Jesuits. This four-year period in his life was drearily dull, but it was richly fruitful with several accomplishments. Throughout his exile in Dapitan, Rizal led a relatively humble existence. Rizal constructed an informal school in which he educated many children. He also had patients that sought him out to get healed.
Additionally, he enjoys agricultural interests. Even Rizal fell in love and developed a close relationship with Josephine Bracken. Rizal's existence in Dapitan was simple but rewarding. Even though Rizal was in exile in Dapitan, he could make the most of his situation. These may serve as a reminder that regardless of our lifestyle, we are still capable of accomplishing anything; even in the smallest and most basic ways, we can make a difference. Similar to Rizal, we should not confine ourselves. Even though he was an exile, our hero managed to conduct good deeds. Rather than limiting himself, he accepted his environment.
2.) Rizal founded a school in 1893. It started with three students and eventually grew to sixteen. His students did not pay tuition. Instead of charging tuition, he made them work in his garden, fields, and community building projects. Rizal educated his boys in the following subjects: reading, writing, languages (Spanish and English), geography, history, mathematics (arithmetic and geometry), industrial activity, nature studies, morals, and gymnastics. He taught them how to acquire plant and animal specimens, enjoy hard work, and "behave like men." In addition, as a physician, Rizal developed an interest in indigenous medicine and the utilization of medicinal plants. He investigated the healing properties of the Philippines' medicinal plants. He administered local medicinal plants to needy people who could not afford to purchase imported medicine. Rizal provided care to the sick in Dapitan without ever receiving payment. People began to go to see him, and he charged them according to their financial circumstances. A wealthy Englishman paid $500 to have cataracts removed from his eyes. This money was spent on streetlamps in Dapitan. He had a hospital directly across from his residence. The enthusiastic citizens of Dapitan paid him a higher level of respect than they did the Commandant. For me, these are the greatest contribution of Rizal in Dapitan.

1.) During his exile in Dapitan, Rizal had a reasonable humble life. Rizal had established a school where he taught local children. He also had patients that sought him get in order to be healed. He also enjoys participating in agricultural activities. Rizal and Josephine Bracken began to have an intimate connection. Rizal lived a humble but worthwhile life in Dapitan. While Rizal was an exile in Dapitan, he was able to make the most out of his situation. This should serve as a reminder that no matter what lifestyle we lead, we are still capable of doing anything and that we can make a difference even in the smallest and most insignificant ways. We should not confine ourselves to a box, like Rizal did. Even as an exile, our hero was able to accomplish things. He didn't put any restrictions on himself. Instead, he accepted his surroundings.
It is unsurprising that the people of Dapitan felt strongly about Rizal after he left. The people of Dapitan were helped and motivated by Rizal. He teaches us that despite barriers, we can still make positive impacts no matter who or what we are. We shouldn't be afraid because we are all capable of assisting one another. We should not be limited by the things that confine us.
2.) Rizal made the most of his time in Dapitan by honing his creative and literary skills, participating in agricultural and municipal initiatives, conducting business, and penning letters to his European friends, particularly Ferdinand Blumentritt and Reinhold Rost. Rizal also created civic projects in Dapitan. He noted the province's deplorable condition when he arrived. To get rid of malaria-carrying mosquitoes, he drained the Dapitan wetlands. He also used the money he made as a physician to give lights in the province, such as coconut oil lamps placed in gloomy alleyways. He improved Dapitan's appearance by remodeling the town plaza. Rizal serves as a reminder to all that Dapitan formerly had the honor and privilege of sheltering the greatest Filipino martyr, who lived here in exile for four years, thirteen days, and a few hours...sharing his noble life, works, and teachings.

1.) I believe that Rizal had a mix emotion towards his exile in Dapitan. In Dapitan, he was able rehabilitate the city. He helped his fellow Filipino there to have a better life, to be able to live a life without worrying of getting sick. As he helped Dapitan to get better, he realizes that the place that Dapitan had become is his vision for what the whole country could be like. A side from that I also believe that Rizal was also sad due to the fact that he was far from home and his family, Josephine Bracken even had to leave for a better future.
2.) I believe that the greatest contribution of Rizal in Dapitan was the construction of a water system, this water system helped all the locals to have access to a much cleaner water to battle the different kinds of diseases present in their community. Besides from that the water system also helped the local farmers to produce a much healthy product. Rizal also form an association to strengthen their production and receive more income.

1). During his exile from 1892 to 1896, the time that Rizal spent in Dapitan was crucial. Despite being originally driven into exile, Rizal made the most of his time in Dapitan by partaking in a variety of activities that highlighted his many abilities and commitment to helping his community.

In Dapitan, Rizal prioritized his medical practice, the establishment of a school, his involvement in agriculture and horticulture, his participation in scientific research, and his efforts to lend a hand to the locals by using his knowledge and compassion. Regardless of their social standing, he built a hospital and offered medical care to the town's residents. To further emphasize the value of education in empowering people and society, Rizal also taught disciplines like math and science in his school.

Even though he was in exile, Rizal intended to use his time wisely. He won the lottery and received 1000 PHP, which, fortunately for him, was a sizable quantity of money at that time in Dapitan, providing him with the wealth he didn't know he needed. Despite being distant from home, he wasted no time in devoting his energies to improving the local community and researching his local surroundings since he knew an opportunity awaited him.

While Rizal made the most of his circumstances and found fulfillment in his work, it is important to remember that banishment was surely a trying experience for him. He must have felt lonely and frustrated at being cut off from his family and unable to take part in the political affairs of the Philippines. Nevertheless, during his exile in Dapitan, Rizal was able to adapt to his environment and have a significant influence thanks to his tenacity and willpower.

Which lead me to think that he found a sense of happiness and fulfillment, even if it is under circumstances that he initially found unwanted. Rizal, true to his legacy, still remained seemingly unfazed by the powers that try to prevent him from helping his people. Personally, I like to think that Rizal left Dapitan and its inhabitants with wisdom and memories that future generations will treasure.
2). The transformational effects that Rizal had on the local population via healthcare and education were his biggest contribution to Dapitan. Rizal founded a school and a hospital while being exiled, creating a lasting legacy that enhanced the lives of the people in Dapitan.

Both children and adults were taught in Rizal's school. Because of his strong belief in the ability of education to improve people's lives and society as a whole, he committed his life to teaching a variety of disciplines, including math, science, and foreign languages. The locals received a high-quality education at Rizal's school, enabling them to improve their future prospects and make a constructive contribution to society by acquiring knowledge and skills.
In the Hospital that Rizal established, No matter their socioeconomic standing, he used his medical knowledge to give the town's residents with medical care. Rizal administered medical care, carried out operations, and even started a small pharmacy. The hospital played a significant role in enhancing the health and wellbeing of the community while serving as a vital healthcare facility in Dapitan.

Rizal's contributions to healthcare and education went beyond merely rendering services. He aimed to inculcate in the inhabitants of Dapitan a sense of self-worth, intellectual curiosity, and the desire for both individual and community development. Rizal's commitment to healthcare and education reflected his greater goal of creating a forward-thinking society.

Bonus: In the video, a young man ponders his status as a member of today's youth and wonders if he actually represents the "hope" Rizal mentioned as he considers his life, his family, his beliefs, and his vices. There are times when our protagonist tries to grasp his place in the future that Rizal envisioned and compares himself to Rizal, but he falls short of realizing his potential and slowly sinks into violence and sexual misbehavior. The film finishes on somewhat of a positive note because it shows our protagonist working as a teacher in a classroom, suggesting that he was able to effectively change his life.

It is normal that as members of the younger generation, we could not fully understand or appreciate what is required of us, creating unneeded obstacles and internal strife. The standards that Rizal hoped to preserve for the benefit of his country and its people may be too high for today's pupils to bear. Individually, we can find it challenging to maintain our existing lifestyles in light of our economic or social circumstances. Realizing that we can rise beyond our obtrusive wishes and learn to embrace fear as a teacher who enables us to learn from what the future has to offer rather than as an enemy.

1.Jose Rizal concentrated on education, healthcare, and social development during his four-year exile in Dapitan. He founded a school, performed medicine, and developed facilities for the benefit of the inhabitants of the area. Despite finding meaning and fulfillment in his projects, Rizal wanted to return to Manila so he could engage in the war for Philippine independence. While he made the best of his stay in Dapitan, his love for the Philippines and desire to take a more active part in the country's liberation kept him from really enjoying his exile.
2.Rizal's most important contribution in Dapitan was his commitment to education and its changing impact on his pupils and the local a community. He founded a school that used innovative teaching methods to promote patriotism and citizenship in his students. Rizal also offered medical services and promoted collaborative service, creating a legacy of academic curiosity and social responsibility.
BONUS: the video is all about a teenager that idolizes Jose Rizal but he only sees Rizal as an idol only because even though he wants to become like him, his love for the country was being taken away since he didn't have the same advantages or same situation in life like Jose Rizal for example, his father isn't supportive of him and beats him up every night, due to that, he became an addict to escape his miserable life for a while but by doing that, his thinking isn't straight and can lead him to danger. Despite everything he had encounter in life, in the end, he became a teacher that tells the story about Jose Rizal's life. The significance of the letter is that Jose Rizal has been able to influence the teenager to become like him even though he is already dead. He encouraged the teenager to become a teacher because of his doings in the past on how he freed the Philippines by the power of his love for the country.

    1. I think yes, he did enjoyed his life in Dapitan because when Jose Rizal won the prize from the Spanish lottery, he bought three houses there that is made of bamboo, nipa, and wood. His life there is simple yet, I think he enjoyed his stay there. Dapitan is also the place where Jose Rizal met Josephine Bracken. Also, I can say that he enjoyed his stay there because he build some schools and hospitals there in Dapitan. If he really not enjoyed his stay in Dapitan, I think he would not build some sort of infrastructures that can help the other people living there.
    2. For me, I think Jose Rizal's greatest contribution there in Dapitan is that, he was able to build some schools and hospitals which is very needed there. Also, Jose Rizal install there a water supply system that can be used in agricultures and horticultures. I think those are the reasons why the people there installed a Rizal Shrine and Jose Rizal's works are still visible there until now since the people in Dapitan really respected him and I think those are the paybacks that they give to Jose Rizal.

    1. Jose Rizal went to Dapitan in 1892. Rizal made the most of his time in Dapitan by focusing much of his attention on honing his creative and literary abilities. Due to the obvious confiscated reading materials, Rizal was exiled to Dapitan. During his exile in Dapitan, Rizal had a rather humble lifestyle that began his peaceful life. Rizal eventually fell in love with Josephine Bracken and began an intimate connection with her even though she was reckoned of being a spy for the Spaniards according to one of Rizal's sisters. Rizal also established a school where he educated nearby children. It started with just three students and grew to 16 and then 21 students over time. Instead of collecting tuition, he encouraged them to labor in his gardens, farms, and community-building projects. He even had patients that sought him out to get healed. He also enjoys partaking in agricultural activities. I would say, he did appreciate his stay in Dapitan.
    2. Jose Rizal's greatest contribution, while he was in Dapitan, was he eventually established a dorm and school for nearby children. From 3 students, it rose to 16 and then 21 pupils until his banishment in 1896. As well as an eye health center where he cured illnesses and conducted eye surgery. The water system, which Rizal built with the aid of his students in 1895, supplied an ample year-round supply of water for Rizal's farmland and community demand. Also, street lights in Dapitan's town center were made possible by his engineering and architectural proficiency. He focused his efforts on community work, civil engineering works, health, development, and education.

1.) Personally, I think he did enjoy his exile because based on what I learned so far. This topic is the only topic where the matter is focused on Rizal's life as a man and not as a hero. In his stay in Dapitan, he was was able to do the things he wanted to do rather than being forced to do it because of either his mission to learn or because it was deemed necessary. Rizal became the first of many things in Dapitan like being a rural doctor, the first to set up a school, first teacher, sanitary engineer, and many more. But the biggest reason I think why Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan is also because of what he has made. A family although it ended up a tragedy. Pepe was able to meet Josephine Bracken and because of the love they developed together, they had a baby. Now I'm not a father, but based on observing people around me, A child being born changes a man, and I mean that in a way that if Francisco wasn't born as a stillborn baby, Rizal may have given up his pursuit of being an icon and a hero because sometimes a man loves his family more than his ambition. No father wants to be seperated from his child, and no child wants to be seperated from his father. But as of the present, it is only a imagination. So in conclusion, yes. I do think Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan.
2.) I think all of the firsts things he did in Dapitan was his biggest contribution in Dapitan. Like imagine a city where none of those things existed, it must have been really hard. But Rizal being able to set up schools, and being a teacher in order to educate the children there, and being a sanitary engr. , public health worker along with introducing social and environmental engineering in Dapitan... One can only wonder what the state of Dapitan was before Rizal introduced all of these things to the public. Innovators often sketch themselves in today's history books, and I think it's safe to say that Rizal safely sketched his name in it. So for me, his firsts was his biggest contributions to Dapitan.

    1. Despite being thrown into exile in Dapitan, I really think Rizal enjoyed his stay there. Because if he weren’t, he wouldn’t have helped the people and the community there. This can be seen when he built his own house there, as well as a house for his pupils and patients, this means that Rizal is making the best of his time while exiled there. Not to mention he made friends there such as Don Ricardo Carnicero who was the politico-military Governor of Dapitan as well as a new loved one namely Josephine Bracken. So, even though Dapitan is a swampy place filled with people dying from diseases, he met new people, helped the community, and enjoyed his time there.
    2. The greatest contribution that Rizal made in Dapitan is undoubtedly setting up the first school there, as well as being the first teacher. This is because Dapitan is an undeveloped province in Zamboanga Del Norte, but with the help of schools, he can teach children what to do in order to help improve the situation in Dapitan. Schools are the best way to help a community, it can foster children and instill into their minds the importance of the community and society, and help them achieve their ambitions for the future that can help other people as well. It may only be a small step, but in the long run, it is definitely worth it.

    1) Rizal's life in Dapitan was full of excitement and learning for him. He enjoyed his stay in Dapitan, although he was being exiled there, it felt like he was just on another journey that might help him to grow even more. He did many for the place of Dapitan. When he won the Spanish lottery, he did not think of how he can selfishly spend the money, instead he spent it to further improve the state of the place. He built houses, clinics, and schools, and constructed a water system for Dapitan. He also improved the lifestyle in the place where higher incomes in fishing and farming were generated. One would not do these things if he was not happy when he was being exiled to a different place, an unknown place where Rizla was not familiar. Rizal instead thought of ways for him to be productive and happy while he improve the state of Dapitan.
    2) Rizal's greatest contribution to Dapitan was the improvement of their lifestyle there. He was able to build houses, clinics, and even schools. He gave chance to other people to be able to learn, and from that the income for fishing and farming went higher than before. Dapitan was a place where they lack almost everything, even a lamppost cannot be found. He was the first for them in many ways and roles, that just tell that it is a place that lacks so much. He helped Dapitan to improve as went to such lengths to a place that he could call it home. He made Dapitan as it was today because of him, he provided clinics for sick people, provided education for those eager to learn, and taught them the basic things that they must do like livelihood, engineering, and how to improve their community. He is a leader that many people should look upon.
BONUS: It is a story about a grade 5 student whom he is writing a letter to Rizal. In the letter, he is asking how to be like Rizal and questioning his life, comparing it to Rizal and his teachings. Rizal's significance to the writer of the video was that as he begins to start his journey in life, Rizal was part of it. He was part of his journey as he starts to question and seek guidance as to who he really is and his purpose in life. At the beginning of the video, it can be seen that he is jealous of what Rizal had in his life, comparing it to his and questioning his teachings if it really is true and if it really does make sense. He starts to stray away from the path of life and at some point, he thought of just ending it, right there and then. Rizal was his motivation to keep fighting and keep him on the right track. Rizal was the one that taught him the lessons about life. At the end of the video, we can see that he kept on fighting and thank Rizal for it as he became a teacher.

    1) Rizal's life in Dapitan was harder than his life in other cities. Dapitan has no potable water and lighting system which are the basic needs of the people there. Moreover, a lot of people in Dapitan are dying because of different diseases and having no proper medical services from the Spanish authorities. Although Rizal was exiled and experienced these things in Dapitan, I think he still enjoyed his stay there. In Dapitan, he met Josephine Bracken, who later on became his wife. He also launched a lot of projects that could help a lot of people living in the City.
    2) In my perspective, most of Dr. Rizal's contributions and projects really helped the City. Although Dr. Rizal had only stayed for four years in Dapitan, he had finished a lot of achievements or projects for the improvement of the City such as the town planning and beautification, introducing livelihood and self-reliance programs to the people, community development programs, setting up a school for the children and especially the sanitary and public health projects and being a doctor of the city which are the main issue of the City. These contributions helped to improved and provide the needs of every people living in the City.

    1) Jose Rizal's life in exile in Dapitan was marked by a sense of purpose and dedication. Despite being separated from his homeland and family, Rizal became involved in a variety of activities that benefited the local community. He practiced medicine, taught at his school, conducted scientific research, and worked on infrastructure projects in his community. While he found fulfillment in his endeavors and made the best of his situation, it is unlikely that he fully enjoyed his exile because he yearned to return to the Philippines and actively contribute to the country's quest for independence. Throughout his time in Dapitan, his longing for his homeland and desire to be a part of the revolution weighed heavily on his heart. While Rizal's life in Dapitan was marked by his productive contributions to the community and his diverse interests, to say he "enjoyed" his exile there would be an oversimplification. He remained estranged from his family, his home, and the epicenter of the Philippine revolution against Spanish colonial rule. Though he made the best of his circumstances and found meaning in his activities, he yearned for a more free life and the opportunity to advocate for his country's independence.
    2) Rizal's most significant contribution to Dapitan was the establishment of a school, "La Escuela de Dapitan," through which he not only provided formal education to local youth but also instilled in them a sense of purpose and civic responsibility. Rizal's enthusiasm for learning and critical thinking inspired his students to seek knowledge and intellectual growth, leaving a lasting impression on their lives and the community. Furthermore, Rizal's scientific research and contributions to the development of Dapitan should not be overlooked. He worked on a variety of projects, including the improvement of agricultural practices and the establishment of a water system, which benefited the town's infrastructure and economy significantly. His commitment to both education and practical initiatives demonstrated his desire to uplift the people of Dapitan and leave a positive legacy during his exile.

While watching, the young man in the video appears to be distracted by several factors. He had fun with his friends, tried to become an addict, fell in love with a relative, and fought for his loved ones with a pen. Similarly to Dr. Jose Rizal's life, he faced all of the challenges that, if he had been more frail, would have caused him to give up. He is going through a lot in life, such as his father abusing him, having to work at such a young age, and wanting to study, but his mind is clouded. Despite having a difficult childhood, he went on to become a teacher. Dr. Jose Rizal's life inspired the person who created the video letter to emphasize the value of education, the importance of addressing violence, and the importance of striving to be an inspiration to this nation's future generations. When faced with life's challenges, knowledge and faith are the best armor we can have.

    1. Rizal's time in exile in Dapitan was spent leading a rather straightforward life. Rizal established an informal school where he taught several kids. Additionally, he enjoys working in agriculture as well. Even more, Rizal developed a romantic and close bond with Josephine Bracken. Rizal led a straightforward but worthwhile life in Dapitan. Rizal was able to make the most of his situation while being an exile in Dapitan. This may serve as a reminder that, despite our circumstances, we are still capable of accomplishing anything and that, even in the smallest and most basic ways, we can make a difference. We shouldn't confine ourselves, like Rizal, inside a box. Even though he was in exile, our hero was able to accomplish good deeds. He didn't set boundaries; instead, he accepted his environment.
At that time, it was the people who went in search of Rizal. It was the folks who traveled to get their eyes examined as well as the parents who sent their kids. Despite being in exile, Rizal did not lead a life of confinement. The Spanish threats were not enough to hold him back; rather, they inspired him to work harder and resist them. Rizal appears to be a free prisoner. It is hardly surprising that Rizal was greatly loved by the residents of Dapitan when he left. The people of Dapitan were helped and motivated by our national hero. Rizal teaches us that despite challenges, we can still make positive impacts no matter who or what we are. We shouldn't be afraid since we can all contribute. We ought not to be constrained by our surroundings.
    2. His four years of political exile in Dapitan, a beach community on Zamboanga del Norte's northernmost tip, have had a significant and long-lasting impact on the community and its residents, which is still felt by the younger generation. As he worked in agriculture, fishing, and business, Rizal became ingrained in the environment of Dapitan, including its forests, oceans, and rivers. He kept and ran a hospital where he worked as an eye doctor in the medical field. He led classes and imparted knowledge in the fields of languages, the arts, sports, and the sciences to young students. He also created a relief map of Mindanao and a water system that was used up until the 1930s. He conducted studies and gathered samples of the local wildlife.
In Talisay, a neighborhood close to Dapitan, Rizal purchased a 16-hectare abandoned property where he later constructed a permanent residence. He cleared the land and planted cacao, coffee, coconuts, and fruit trees with the help of his students and a few workers. He later purchased additional properties in different regions, which he also planted with the same crops, including abaca. Rizal promoted the use of fertilizers, crop rotation, and farm equipment among Dapitan farmers and brought modern agriculture to them. Due to governmental and municipal protection, the Talisay forest is still a forest today.

    1) I think that Rizal enjoyed his exile in Dapitan because above all he became productive, he exercises what he has finished after his studies of ophthalmology and became a rural doctor during his exile for four years there; and he lives with his beloved live-in partner Josephine Bracken. As Rizal went at Dapitan, this place looks like a desolated area and many people have no idea on health and many people have diseases when Rizal went at Dapitan. As time goes by, Rizal decided to contribute to the wellness of all the people there at Dapitan. Rizal introduced some advancement or technology that would definitely help the people to have connection on natural resources and how these will help them to have a livelihood. Even school for his students where he is the teacher there at his time. All four years living at Dapitan with Josephine Bracken I think that Rizal enjoyed his time of exile.
    2) I think that the greatest contribution of Rizal in Dapitan is the livelihood of all people there. Because even though Rizal would leave after his exile, people can sustain their lives on their own. Also, that kind of contribution would really help them since it will be their foundation to have a better life for long period of time. It is said that “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.” And I believe in this quote because it has a huge impact on their lives. Another is that his ability as a doctor, because since the place is desolated, many people could die unknowing the real symptoms of the illness that affected some people. That is why it is a good thing also that Rizal is a doctor in which many would still be alive through his help and his knowledge on medicine.

    1. In my opinion, given Rizal's mindset and character, he most likely experienced some kind of enjoyment during his exile in Dapitan. He was a guy of great intellectual curiosity, compassion, and devotion to his people's welfare. While he may have wished for the freedom to return to his nation, he made the best of a bad circumstance by engaging in activities that reflected his ideals and passions. Jose Rizal is a man who has a great deal of regard for his fellow citizens, especially when it is reciprocated. However, regardless of the circumstances, banishment is unquestionably a form of punishment and a restriction on personal freedom. Rizal adored his homeland and wished to be fully involved in the fight for freedom. As a result, while he may have found some happiness in Dapitan, it is unlikely that he ever really loved his exile or felt it to be a better circumstance than being free and fighting for his country's liberation. Nonetheless, despite his forced departure from the heart of the Philippine revolution, his persistence, determination, and optimistic attitude enabled him to make the most of his time in Dapitan and continue contributing to the advancement of society.
    2. Jose Rizal has the ability to positively and negatively influence your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Furthermore, Jose Rizal's most significant contribution in Dapitan was the creation of a school and his commitment to education and community development which is named "La Escuela Caritativa" (Charitable School). Rizal understood the potential of education in influencing the minds of the youth and believed that knowledge and enlightenment were necessary for the Filipino people's progress and emancipation. Furthermore, Rizal's commitment to education in Dapitan demonstrated his persistent dedication to the welfare of the Filipino people. His efforts went beyond mere cerebral development; he attempted to influence his students' character and ideals, turning them into responsible and enlightened citizens who would positively contribute to society. Because, in Jose Rizal's time, education was the key to achievement for both individuals and nations, and without it, people could not achieve success. Education is more than just books; it teaches us about life, dignity and respect for others, essential human rights, and the concept of equality. Also, it applies to our world nowadays.

    1. Jose Rizal was exiled in 1892 at Dapitan because he was being convicted of subversion by the Spanish government at the time. He spent his four years in Dapitan, he lived a relatively peaceful and productive life somehow. He maximized his time in Dapitan. His life was not easy ofcourse, he was constantly watched by the spanish authorities. During his stay in Dapitan he used his exile to further his education and help the people at Dapitan at the same time. His enjoyment was hard to say since it is a bittersweet event of his life. His overall stay at Dapitan was both good and bad at the same time, he maximized his stay there and used it to his advantage for education purposes. On the other hand he was staying at a place that he is not comfortable and out of his comfort zone at the same time over there.
    2. Jose Rizal’s greatest contribution in Dapitan was his way of promoting education and civic engagement. He established a school at Dapitan and he taught reading, writing, arithmetic, geography, history, and natural science. He believed that proper education was the key to progress, and he also wanted to become knowledgeable at the place and engage with the citizens over there. Rizal’s school was open to everyone, regardless of your social class or religion. His school was a model of progressive education in our country, and it helped raise the standard of education in Dapitan. His legacy is still felt in Dapitan up to this day, and he is remembered as one of the greatest Filipinos of all time. Rizal’s overall contributions in Dapitan were wide-ranging and very significant to the place. He made a positive impact on the lives of the people in Dapitan, and he left a good and lasting legacy in the town.
    BONUS:
The video was all about highlighting Rizal’s message and a perspective of one of the students here in the Philippines. It is well emphasized in the video what some of the less privileged students have to go through here, and it is rare to see that they still managed to push through everything despite their circumstances. Rizal’s messages and quotes are highlighted during the video, and it is shown that younger kids still don’t understand some of the things that are said. Jose Rizal’s words helped every student and even adults to push through anything and it inspired a lot of individuals to keep studying for their future and dreams. Jose Rizal’s life was significant since it is shown somehow similarly to the main character of the video, they still pushed through despite their own difficulties in life. They believed for what is right and fought for it until they reached their goal, despite everything that happened they still keep on believing. In the end they both achieved their goals in life and we’re glad for their own experiences in life.

    1)
In comparison to being imprisoned in Fort Santiago, Rizal’s exile in Dapitan was quite more comfortable and liberating. In context, he was able to do several things in Dapitan which he could not have done back in Manila. In hindsight I think Rizal enjoyed his exile tin Dapitan as he made it meaningful than being hindered by the exile for its political purposes. Rizal brought development to Dapitan starting from building his own house, school and clinic. Moreover, he provided livelihood for the townsfolk and beautified the plaza. In addition, he also introduced social and environmental engineering, such as farmer associations, water infrastructures and many more. Likewise, he also made a mark by being an ophthalmic surgeon sought by foreigners. Aside from his career and socio-civic duties, he also had his fair share of love story in Dapitan. He met Josephine Tuafer whom he was almost about to marry. Thus I think Rizal did enjoy his exile in Dapitan.
    2) Rizal’s greatest contribution to the community is its holistic development. Starting from his career as a doctor he became the first rural doctor in Dapitan to treat not only locals but also foreigners. Likewise, he also introduced quality education in the community by building up his own school with the Atenean system of education. Moreover, Rizal helped the townsfolk to stand on their own feet by teaching and introducing them to livelihood and self-reliance programs. Along with these is that he established farmer associations to yield higher production and increase income. In addition, he also enriched the town’s history and culture by beautifying the town plaza and building water systems. Moreover, in terms of scientific discipline, he also collected endemic shells, creatures, and plants to study and showcase. Thus, Dapitan from being a low-lying community was greatly developed by a thousand fold thru Rizal’s contribution of knowledge, wisdom, and expertise.

    1. I believe that Rizal enjoyed his stay in Dapitan despite being exiled then. I think it was more of Rizal creating an opportunity, than just pure enjoyment. He did not choose to suffer, but he took it as an opportunity to make Dapitan a beautiful and prosperous place just like what he wanted for the country. In the end, he was successful in making the place a better one; beautified the plaza, directed the construction of the water system, built houses and schools, and organized an association of farmers to improve farm production. Rizal's other reason to enjoy his stay there is because of Josephine Bracken. He met Josephine in Dapitan and planned to marry but unfortunately was not granted by Fr. Obach. Dapitan was not the only one to improve during that time, but also Rizal himself. Rizal being exiled allowed him to focus on himself, he did what he enjoys doing such as practicing his medical profession, educating, doing business, all of these while still learning.
    2. It is how Rizal improved the livelihood of Dapitan. Before Rizal was exiled, Dapitan was very undeveloped, they had no potable water, lighting system, swampy streets, no proper medical services available, and a bad economy. Rizal changed all of it because that is who he really is. A man who has a strong sense of nationalism and leadership. Rizal's stay in Dapitan was an opportunity for him to use his knowledge and the experience he gathered throughout his travels. It is important that the livelihood of one place is developed because it defines which is prosperous and not. Education, healthcare system, and agriculture, are a few of the things that are the foundation of the people. A developed livelihood will able the professionals to be competent in their field, which would lead to domino effect that there will be more people that will contribute to the whole and the betterment of the country. Rizal's stay in Dapitan made Dapitan a more habitable place.
    3. BONUS QUESTION: The video is about a confused young man about Rizal's famous saying the youth if the hope of the future. He wonders how to be really the hope of the future if one was not given a chance to be a youth? The significance of Rizal's life to the writer is the young man compares his life to Rizal to be that "hope of the country." He thinks that in order to be that person, he should be like Rizal, but in reality, Rizal's life was not perfect, and that every person is special in their own way.

    1. Rizal was exiled in Dapitan. This place is in Zamboanga Del Norte and is far away from the outskirts of Manila. His exile was primarily done to contain his undeniable influence, which the Spaniards found to be concerning. Since he is isolated in a place that is relatively different from where he used to live in, it is normal to assume that he would not be happy about it at first. However, I think that as time went by, he came to enjoy his exile in Dapitan. The first evidence for this is his activities, which truly showed that he made the most out of his stay there. He practiced his concept of practical leadership and nationalism, which if given the right chance and opportunity, he would have done for the Philippines. He also had a lot of achievements when he was in Dapitan. Another proof that would prove that he enjoyed his exile is Josephine Bracken, who is his last love.
    2. In my opinion, Rizal’s greatest contribution in Dapitan was the fact that he was able to develop its community. When he first arrived in Dapitan, it was said that the place was swampy with unplanned streets, has no potable water and lighting system, has no proper medical services, and has a poor economy. However, he was able to solve all these problems and develop the community when he put into practice his concept of leadership and nationalism. As a result, he built a lot of infrastructures that would be useful for the people of Dapitan. He also beautified the plaza, facilitated the putting up of lampposts, and even managed the construction of a water system. Furthermore, he helped the farmers and fishermen improve their production so that they would have higher incomes.

    1) Jose Rizal's life in Dapitan. Jose Rizal has been exiled in Dapitan for four years. Rizal lived a pretty productive life during his exile in Dapitan. When exiled, he was able to put a school and dormitory for boys with his own funds. Rizal set up a clinic where he treated patients and he does eye surgery. He helps the economy with his engineering and architectural skills. The most endearing part of Rizal's life in exile, he fell in love and formed an intimate relationship with a beautiful young Hong Kong resident woman named Josephine Bracken. So we could probably say that he enjoyed his exile in Dapitan.
    2) Rizal maximized his stay in Dapitan by contributing a lot of things. He devoted most of his time to Dapitan by improving his skills and engaging in business activities and doing agricultural kinds of stuff. He won the lottery and bought 70 hectares, and built his own house, clinics, and schools for his pupil and patients. All that he did in Dapitan contributed a lot for their own benefits. It has been a great improvement for Dapitan when Rizal came there and helped the country rise from its economical crisis.
