I can safely say that I have never lost to Garry Kasparov
He never even managed to scrape out a draw against you bro... 'spect
I never lost to Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov too!
My win rate against them is 100%
"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting"- Sun Tzu, art of war
I didn't lost against the top 100 players ever , is that make me number 1 ?
I remember that I studied this game a lot of years ago. A Nadjorf becoming a Scheveningen. It was moving to see Karpov attack with all his soul (sign of desesperation).

Ok
yessss
DAMN
Best part of his era was no engines. They just didn't know if they were playing the best moves or not.
True masters of tempo
Not true. Kasparov prolonged his career by being one of the first adopters of computer training. Not just using computers to analyse lines, but by keeping a private database of all his opponents games so he could print them up before matches and study them, looking for weaknesses. He had a big advantage over his opponents as he had that before his opponents did as he had more financial resources and connections in the tech world through his colab with IBM
Well , those GMs are no less than an engine
Best thing was that they knew the best moves without any reassurance by the engines.
oke bolle
Nice content as always, so glad you made your videos available again. Big respect from Indonesia!!:)

Thank you Gotham for making chess so entertaining. You have natural ability to make chess so interesting through your commentary! Thanks for your hard work
I completely agree. I used to think that chess youtubers and streamers would sit in a chair and ponder for minutes about the best move, but Gothams style of commentary is very engaging and easy to follow with
Has been done many times, but it does not ever get old and I would love to see YOU cover it: Garry Kasparov's Immortal game against Topalov from 1999.

How about that Edward Lasker vs George Thomas game?
The one where the king is dragged to the other side and excecuted. I just love the absolute domination of it.

Please keep doing these! You make these older games just as exciting as your other recaps. Love it!
Would love to see more historical games covered by you. Great idea!
Levy's how to solve chess tactics series has helped me go from 500 to 1200 in puzzle rating.Pls keep on uploading similar videos in future. Thanks!
I literally tapped out of a gotham chess video for this video
Hey Levy, thanks for making your great recaps even when there's no event going on. If you want to make this an ongoing thing I think it would be nice to have a look at very old matches, maybe highlighting something that was novelty at the time but that today is considered normal practice. Thanks for all the effort you're putting into this!

your videos make me more interested in chess and chess histories, and also you taught me more openings than others and made it easy to understand for beginners. appreciate it, fam.
14:00 bishop takes bishop in g2. The king can't take back because knight forks the queen and the king. Was it just a straight up blonder from karpov?
I feel like they added the rule for pawns moving 2 squares at the starting position just to make it faster, but they didnt want to change the late game dynamics of pawn structure battles , so to counteract the 2 space move the opponent is able to treat a pawn that had moved 2 squares as if it had moved only one. Ergo capture in passing.
Glad I woke up to a Gotham chess video
Thanks for this, Levy. I would love to see more of your commentary on famous games -- perhaps a series on your favourites?
Love your content, keep it up!
He couldn't play Ne3 at 14:33 because after knight takes the queen there's mate with the rock 😉

Day 25 of translating the title in Italian: "Questa partita ha fatto diventare Garry Kasparov il campione del mondo di scacchi".
Bit of a longshot, but are you a fan of Sinvicta? I've only ever seen commenters keep streaks like this on his channel.
@@Skatche ye man! I just watch all the sinvicta videos and the moshpit inspired me to start a streak in an other channel 😁 I'm just waiting for repentance right now 😃
IMO, the only reason En Passant sounds like a weird rule, is because of the way you explained it. If you think about it in the sense that, aside from the first move, pawns can only move one space, then it makes more sense. If the pawn were to move one space, it could be captured. So, moving 2 spaces on the first move doesn't make the pawn immune to the capture on the immediately following turn.
