    You missed that Kasparov stopped playing the KID just a few years prior due to Kramnik dismantling it with the Bayonet attack. A testament to how strong Kramnik was at preparation to neuter two of Kasparov’s favorite openings with both white and black.

      @@jansnauwaert1785 Found the chess elitist. Shut up, you're probably U1400, you have no business calling Agadmator a "lousy chess player". He was a huge part of the chess renaissance here on the internet and he deserves all the praise he gets and more.

    • @georgebrantley776
      @georgebrantley776 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@jansnauwaert1785 Skill in playing chess is near orthogonal to skill in presenting chess. He has a script (or at least a skeleton or some sort) planned out ahead of time, he has analysis done ahead of time with all the key points ready, and he communicates these things in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. He is the quintessential analysis presenter. It's fine if you don't like pure analysis--since you prefer Levy it's pretty clear you want more commentary. But at least be balanced in your review of Agadmator for what it is, rather than what you want it to be.

    Hikaru initially drew me to the chess community. But Levy is why I stayed over the past 6 months.
    He is a down to Earth human-being, humorous, and frankly a challenge to others pushing run-of-the-mill videos in the chess community.
    He addresses it from a level of depth that the beginner player can quickly pick up on and reference, due to a high-level of rapport and people skills.
    And I always catch myself grinning at his brand of exaggerated and recurring comedic themes (even occasionally a "hahahaha", etc.)

    Actually Kasparov and Kramnik were supposed to sign rematch contract before the match, but Kasparov decided not to. And after the match Kasparov started to demand rematch (at least in public) and Kramnik declined for obvious reasons - he hadn't planed for it and there were a lot of other matches he HAD planed for and had to prepare to, including a match vs computer.

    great content Levy. Gary's stubbornness on Berlin Defense has cost him the match.

    • @billj4525
      @billj4525 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Big time. Many said his ego cost him this. Even Gary admitted that was one of his weaknesses, and he learned that the hard way. He did not know enough about the Berlin yet still kept trying to beat it, mostly over the board, while Kramnik had done extensive analysis. Gary was so dominating and above everyone else by so much in 2000 that he thought he could get away with anything. Kramnik playing AMAZING in this match, and had some of the best prep ever, and playing the best chess he ever did. Very shocking match, but it happened.

    Hey, Levy. Do you actually have all of these games memorized? It sure looks like it. I guess that the moves don't show up on the screen in your videos, but I never see your eyes darting back and forth between the board and some move chart, so I was wondering. You certainly have 5.72 million openings memorized - so i figure, what's few dozen more moves on top of 100s of memorized opening variations in a few couple 1000 famous games or so.
