    ❤My Grandmother was in the 6888th.The "Six Triple Eight"! I really wish she could have seen this! She would have been smiling ear to ear. My family history is a long line of Service, to God, in the Ministry, and Service to Country, in the Military. I continue the tradition as an officer in the Military. Salute to all veterans & those currently serving. Thank you Tyler Perry.Thank you.❤

    I cried throughout Tyler Perry's/Netflix's "The Six Triple Eight." This MASTERPIECE is OUTSTANDING! This will be a film that will keep on giving for generations to come. We will see adaptations in the theater and other genres. Kerry Washington deserves an OSCAR for her performance here.
    I'm always humbled, astounded and impacted by the strength, resilience, brilliance, achievements, dutifulness, perseverance, commitment, dedication, devotion and diligence of our African American ancestors. What a respectful, angelic and BEAUTIFUL tribute to them by Tyler Perry in "The Six Triple Eight." WELL DONE. ❤️
    Despite the evil, lies, tricks, sabotage, torment, torture, racism, harassment, nastiness and disrespect of yt supremacists/yt terrorists-the oppressors-our ancestors continued on their missions, journeys and assignments. They survived degradation and denigration. They worked hard and laser-focused to chart a path for their/our success. They always managed to exceed the goal posts, although they weren't made privy to them. They continued to fight for justice, fairness and humanity, although they didn't see, feel, or experience these things. And, THEN, there’s US...
    To this day, we continue to walk in their footsteps; channeling their brilliance. We continue to tread in their blood, hard work and successes as we strive and work to form a more perfect Union. We continue to fight the evils of racism, while at the same time, pushing forward.
    I'm SO VERY PROUD to be BLACK!
    THANK YOU! ❤️

    Everything from the romantic story that you said was unrealistic was true. He said that romantic story was what he built that film around and he showed the film to the real life Lena before she passed away and she said he got it right. You have to remember back in those days relationships were built on more than just physical desires. They got to know people and they could fall in love with someone without physical interaction and love at first sight is a thing the does exist.

    The world should know about these phenomenon women!

    • @LifesDeath
      @LifesDeath 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Why exactly? The community didn't care to know about them. There have been books and documentaries on them. How many cared about the renaming ceremony at Fort Lee? Most of the families of these women didn't even know about them...not that they didn't care, but if hertitage is not important at home and taught by the elders, why should anyone else give af about it?

I think that's what people are missing those who are critics of the movie.

    I saw the movie, but the movie tied in a heavy Jewish element. The issue I have with that is Jewish stories of racism never have to involve anyone else, they get to have separate stories. Why must we always be attached to others? Or does that element of the movie need to be attached to have it greenlit? They just showed us in the last election that we are alone. Medea once said "when someone shows you who they are, believe them".

    As a black woman its difficult to believe black women were being loved in this way because of the historical trauma and abuse we have endured and continue to experience in America. It is a good try Tyler, some of his typical work of romanticism of black love is included which in my opinion overshadows the legacy of the service these woman provided.
