They had three leads at the time. There's always a blessing and a curse to having so much talent in one group. The blessing is the diversity in songs and artistic expression, not to mention the ladies who choose their favorites. Friendly Competition is good, but competitive resentment, and jealousy can ruin a group because no one wants to be The public announcement for R.Kelly. The good thing is they grew up together and are like family, unlike let's say An Envogue who couldn't get past their differences.
Mr. Brooke Payne really deserve credit and recognition for all his energy , resources and time he put into NEW EDITION !

I feel bad that he got fired for something that he had no control over. He actually reminds me of my Dad. He seems like a loving father figure in the boys' lives.
Yes, and I hated the way their parents treated him knowing they wasn’t buying them clothes for the talent shows or giving them money to eat. He was good to them but he didn’t know the music business but was just trying to help them truthfully from the heart and that second manager cheated them bad and he knew the business

I can’t believe these were kids with a dream and basically made it all happen for themselves by themselves. No adults orchestrated their dreams. They did. Solely them. Inspiring.

Ralph was sooo loyal 😮 we all need a Ralph in our lives. He worked his butt off singing to make sure his friends families was taken care of. Wow. I hope they remember him. He is the “voice of reason” for NE. Family ❤.

The young boy played "Ralph" studied his role to the T! He has Ralphs mannerisms facial expressions hand movement everything just WOW!!! I'm literally in tears this was long overdue!

The person in charge of casting did an excellent job. The actors had great chemistry and it shows.
I actually shed a tear when I watch the younger versions of them. These young black men are so talented they really did well with the casting. Caleb (Ricky) really was my favorite he killed “holding on”.

Can we talk about Caleb for a second because his acting was phenomenal. He really took his character in the right direction and the directors definitely did a good job letting him showcase his singing talent before Ralph became known as the lead singer. I think Caleb should’ve gotten more roles that had singing in it because he really has talent and I wish he could do more roles like that.

I couldn't believe that New Edition came back from their first big concert tour with only $1.87 each... Imagine the shock and disappointment ! 😮 Streetwise Records didn't do right by the guys. They sang like little angels. Candy Girl, Popcorn Love, Count Me Out and Is This The End are some of my favourites. 😊

Love that these kids had such ambition without being pushed by stage parents. They did it for themselves! When you look at other groups in history like Jacksons and Beach Boys they had a parent also pushing them.

New Edition was the first concert I ever seen as a child...I'm 55 now and after watching the movie it brought back a lot of memories...thanks for 88.5 for the tickets it was the biggest thing to hit Davenport Iowa back then
I love movies like this because it remind me of how kids played together and looked out for each other.
This is the best BET movie ever made. Everything was done correctly , it was like we were watching the real 'new edition', the actors did a great job and the costumes were on point

"If It Isn't Love" why do I feel this way? There aren't many true biography movies that I go crazy about but The New Edition Story is one that I will watch over & over. The whole effort to bring this together is appreciated. This is a staple and for the actors to be able to experience living legends and learn what they went through & did for our culture to tribute New Edition's success singing and dancing all of their classic hits is legendary. They deserved something that was going to represent them in the best way. Loved. 🖤👑💋💯

His name is Jahi Winston and he is now 17 years old! He has actually played in a few other movies since the New Edition movie, one being Proud Mary with Taraji Henson. It must have brought back good memories for Ralph when he was young because Ralph actually cried.

i could literally watch this everyday for the rest of my life. i never miss a day. they're so inspiring , especially considering the fact that I've always loved dancing and I've always made up dance routines and loved learning full dances. i watch this so much I've learned the dances to "holding on" and "the love you save"

The song here was by the untouchables in the movie, can’t find this song anywhere but however the original song is called “ Spell “ by Blue Magic. You can hear the similarities. Just watched this and the Bobby movie back to back like i haven't seen it before 😂 such great movies I can't get enough and I missed it. I think I'll watch it again. Been a New Edition fan since I was a kid. Born in 83 so yeah they are some favorites

I’m genuinely surprised this docu series didn’t get nominated for any emmys or golden globes or let alone win anything 🙄 the actors did what had to be done and the show kept my attention.
Thats because they not the new kids on the block. U know the toys sold at toys r us merchandise they never released for new edition. It’s because they’re black and just like other great films with predominantly black cast or about black people, they’re sort of categorized as just “black films” rather than just “great films” by white Hollywood Press and white Hollywood.
