    Thanks for starting explaining in more detail. I often missed that in the manual or in the online help 🌻

    You know, I've been using Bitwig since version 1.0, and I'm always surprised that I learn things about Bitwig's functionality in these videos.

    Thank you for the great overview and harmonic insights. Also as a prior owner of the JP-8000, I am really happy with the swarm oscillator as it was a pain to build it in the grid.

      They need to make a hardware controller like push 2 and that will skyrocket them.

    Very sad that you think Frequency Modulation make same result as Phase (pitch) Modulation. I'm scared you will think so further as argument to not add it to program. FM is canonical sound and it is pleasant to ears, you really cant get same or even some close results with PM. And arguments like "it is not same but it is new unique sound you could use" are not acceptable - PM sounds bad, and even if you dont think so we still want use canonical FM sounds in our work. So PM is not replacement for FM, and it is a little strange so big modular DAW cant do FM... ps/FM-4 with only sine waves is not the answer, why there are always some borders for creative usage?

      Uh, huh? Bitwig offers frequency modulation in other native synths. You can make it in the grid, if you want, in several different ways.

      @meme_0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@briancase6180 huh? Don' lie, you can't. Native synth are Polysynth (no fm there), Phase-4 (no fm), Polymer (no fm), Organ (no fm), Poly Grid (no fm, just Phase and Pitch modulation), FM-4 (fm but as described above it is too limited to sine waves, just as toy). So what's your answer to "several ways" in native synths?

      @@meme_0 i just made an FM (not PM) synthesizer in the PolyGrid in about five minutes. Using a wavetable as a carrier or modulator is like another couple of minutes even with feedback. I'm sure you are right Polymer and Phase-4 use phase modulation, but actually most 'FM' synthesizers use PM when they say FM, even Serum is generally set up that way. In any case you can do it in the grid if you can be bothered.
      There is a good explanation of the pros and cons as well as the math and links to DX7 related papers here.

      @@jumpstar9000 yes sure with doctor degree i can build almost anything and i even dont need grid with this. You can ask some other ppl to implement it in grid and im sure nobody will make it, even in hour.

      @@meme_0 Hmmm you do have a point that you have to invest a lot of time both technically and in sound design sometimes when you just want to get on with making music. I have mentioned this before that on some level Bitwig is more of an audio laboratory than anything else. There is something to be said for having an out of the box experience that is easier to find things in reach.
      My intuition is they will provide some kind of built in cloud connectivity that allows people to build, share and find creations in close to real time. At that point you could use the built in browser to find presets, clips, samples, templates and projects instantly. At least that is what I would be building if it were up to me.
      Well, that and adding an MSEG, MIDI Grids, Sub-grids, built in Convolution Reverb, better MIDI to MIDI bouncing, Comping, missing FL Studio like Piano Roll editing features, Video support, a Drum sequencer, 'Always Armed' shadow MIDI Recording, Improved scripting support and Debugging, the ability to run headless...
      Finally, if they can provide a single button that would finish my songs, for me that would rock 🎸 😍 😂
