  • A look at Bitwig Studio's newest synthesizer Polymer focusing specifically on the new wavetable oscillator and filter options.
Polymer takes a variety of grid modules and makes them accessible to the everyday Bitwig user in a simple but powerful instrument. We break down the synthesizer, explore some of the presets, and talk about the overall sound and versatility of Bitwig Studios newest synth.

I was hoping this would come to TH-cam soon! Thank you!

I've been holding off on renewing my Bitwig upgrade this seems a good time to do it.

Have you looked at the HISTORY of this channel?
Brian actually is the one who converted me to Bitwig with his content in late 2017 :)

@@Artek604 Oh, thanks for pointing it out! I'll watch some more :)

What kind of synthesizer is Polymer? Looks like it works like Serum/Vital to me.

23:20 And it's actually the DSP not the CPU.

Yep basically the same as Serum. Hybrid oscillators that allow for wavetable and then basic subtractive from there if you so choose.

can we get additive synth module in the grid.

Nice., but too nerdy for me..... but please could you make a vid about the TRAPS in "pop-up-browser"??? What are collections/what smart collections, how can i disable the fist above-filter, how can i not ENTER a preste/device via computer-keybord if i switch from "select" to "answer-field" via down-up-key.... and so on.... There are a lot of TRAPS/confusing stuf inside... soooo a nice 40 minutes explainer would be very nice... Nope, a RTFM vid will NOT explain all this WANTED feautures, but also the unwanted "traps"--- I believe there is some really buggy inside the pop-browser and yes i know the feature/difference betweeen the different "defaults" i can set for track/note/instrument/fx.... A vid DEEPER than this, maybe including bugs or ozher traps would be nice.... I dont know, maybe i´m tooo tumb, maybe there are traps, maybe its buggy.... but the PROMISE to organize your stuff qorks just of level 1, not in advanced modes/wishes.... ( know this themes are not #1 themes... but deeper-dive-workflow(efficenxy... i´m sure i am not thee only one, who want to discover the possibiltys (and the maybe traps/bugs....) Thank you!

So you want to say reaktor is better?

I think he meant he already had his modular fun & decided it's not for him.
Although, to be fair, Grid is much faster and easier than Reaktor (pre-Blocks, at least) so looking into it wouldn't be a mistake :)

No, I assume the Grid is probably a million times easier and more fun to work with... it's just not something I really wanted to spend time on working with from scratch. I spent a long time learning and building stuff in Reaktor from scratch and I'm just over it because I never made anything that could compare with great ensembles others had already made and shared...the same thing will be true for me in the grid. I just know in the heat of the moment making a track I'm not going to pull up a blank instance of the grid and make something that's useable and do so quickly. I'm sure others can but not me.
I think the effects and instruments presets are great!

@@ProduceWithMe I actually thought the same until I start using it. I found that it’s actually sometimes a lot faster to get to specific sound with grid. I don’t have to use all this math and logic stuff because they are more for experimentation and randomisation. I was inspired by taches teaches 808 style clap video who shoved that grid can be a cool easy environment if you after specific sound. Hope it will inspire you to to look at grid again as at different tool. If not, great videos anyway! Thanks for doing it!
