Usually when games try to include songs that sound "hip hop", they always go for the most corny and generic sounding bullshit. I was delightfully surprised when Sega went for a more underground sound. I like to imagine that this song opened people's minds to different kinds of hip hop out there and not just mainstream stuff.
Jimmy Russels This could be classified under a lot of things: underground hip-hop, backpacker hip-hop, alternative hip-hop, etc. I don't want to overwhelm you, so I'll just give you 4 songs to check out: "Paris, Tokyo" by Lupe Fiasco, "Electric Relaxation" by A Tribe Called Quest, "Waves" by Joey Bada$$ and "93 til" by Souls of Mischief. Let me know which ones you like.
This instrumental is actually very well put together, and the lyrics are performed with a nice, alternating flow. Say what you will about this song being 'corny' or whatever, but it is undoubtedly a surprisingly well-made work of hip hop
The knuckles stages were hard but you can't deny their atmosphere and music. To me that made everything bearable and even enjoyable. Screw the haters, Sonic Adventure 2 was the best Sonic game for the next generation and I'm proud to have been a part of it all those years ago.
keshiakat You are not alone my friend. Sonic hasn't had a fantastic game since Unleashed and Generations (if you want to count the gameplay alone but the story and characters suck).
***** I can't stand the "new sonic" that SEGA has made their icon to be. Their own youtube channel shows Boom Sonic, meaning he's their image right now.....appropriate give how SEGA's been a shit company as of.....well a while now. The Sonic today is a completely different entity that has no business riding the coat tails of one of the once greatest franchises of all time, I'm not sorry. It just sucks ass completely. Its a mainstream pandering, dumbed down, washed up version of every single character I grew up loving and admired. Its not even appropriate for kids. Kids deserve better than stereotypical versions of Knuckles, Sonic and so forth. They deserve more than Rise of Lyric, Lost World, etc. I'm probably in the minority here, but its just how I feel and that is honestly never going to change at this present state. I had to speak out about that.

Nearly 19 years ago, back in 2002, I remember getting SA2B for the GameCube, I was still so young, but the memories of the gameplay and music will forever be engrained in my mind. This game truly was Sonic team at their height, maybe not the peak, but they at least still cared and through so much effort here. The charm and edge that made this game so memorable and fun.

When i say "flaws", I'm not talking about glitches and texture issues. I'm talking about actual game play. In my opinion this game feels like a step back since sonic adventure 1. first of all, sonic the hedgehog is known for high speed platforming. the players enjoy going fast, that's what makes a sonic game a sonic game, which both sonic and shadow's stages offer. but sonic adventure 2 is filled to the brim with annoying mech shooting levels, and EXTREMELY tedious treasure hunting stages that make me want to pull my hair out with its unhelpful radar and vague hints. I only like sonic and shadows stages, which is barely even 1/3 of the game. Look, if you think the game it good, more power to ya. but i think sonic adventure 1 did a better job as a 3D sonic game. sonic and tails tails stages reflect how the were in the genesis games, knuckle's emerald hunting stages were a lot better because of a decent radar and good hints ,and gamma had a lot better control and better stages compared to the mech shooting stages in SA2. (even though i wish shooting stages weren't in the games at all). and for everyone except Big and Amy, i actually felt like i was playing a sonic game in the third dimension. I was loosing my shit when I was playing the game and that *LOUD HORRIBLE BUBBLING NOISE* was covering up the lyrics. I'm really happy I got to hear it clearly here, I was really worrying that was actually part of the instrumental.
I wish Rap music can be like this again in today's Generation! Because we are all getting sick of rappers singing about money, Girls, and Drugs... why can't rappers sing more about Positive things???
Sonic adventure 2 was sega's best game hands down it had good game modes so you can never get bored with it. The story was top-notch, and the soundtrack don't even get me started on that man it had the best soundtrack in gaming history. I never saw a game with so many songs that you can listen to Jesus Christ man I miss the old days when games were full games and not the quick buck DLC type of bullshit that we have now today. There's not enough love being put into games anymore everything is just for a quick buck.
Imagine this playing on the radio?? Like not as an anticipated hit but imagine your just chillen there and then this track fades in from the very beginning nice and smooth.
It was genius to make this game on the GameCube after its sega release. I bet lots of people here played the gc version early. I’m glad this game was part of my child hood. I didn’t have a Dreamcast so I’d have never played this game
Black Americans truly are a diamond, without them we wouldnt have Rock n Roll, blues, jazz, disco, house music, techno, hip hop, RnB, and then Jamaicans created dance hall, reggae and our fellow Black latinos created Salsa

Damn, i remember being young af just getting this game brand new from GameStop, popping it into my GameCube and eating bean burritos from Taco Bell Ahh, the simpler times.
I was loosing my shit when I was playing the game and that *LOUD HORRIBLE BUBBLING NOISE* was covering up the lyrics. I'm really happy I got to hear it clearly here, I was really worrying that was actually part of the instrumental.
same
Summer 2002 :)
I wish Rap music can be like this again in today's Generation! Because we are all getting sick of rappers singing about money, Girls, and Drugs... why can't rappers sing more about Positive things???
they do
Macklemore? Joji? Mercy? There's a lot sis.
Yeah, we really need more rappers that sing about their journey to find the pieces of the master emerald.
How many pieces of emeralds all together?
who's your favorite rapper of all time
Sonic adventure 2 was sega's best game hands down it had good game modes so you can never get bored with it.
Knuckles Is Officially A Bada$$ For This :) NICE SMOOTH Production x)
The audio quality being so low just adds so much
This was the golden age of hip hop
Brings back memories! This and pumpkin hill is my favorite
Man these Knuckles instrumentals were my child hood and are the perfect beats to make something happen !!
Every single member of the Wu Tang Clan would've rode this track with ease.
"I'm in narrow hallways, runnin' like it's a ball game"
🔥
I really don't know why knuckles never released that mixtape
these songs have no business going this hard
used to be so trash at Knuckles stages but chilled there because of his music :)
when he says stuck it sounds like sus
"Avoidin' my luck, I'm feelin' kind o' sus"
when the knuckles is sus
Imagine this playing on the radio?? Like not as an anticipated hit but imagine your just chillen there and then this track fades in from the very beginning nice and smooth.
Listening to this while looking at the Knuckles picture before I press “watch now” on Paramount lol gotta have that nostalgia trip for a moment
It was genius to make this game on the GameCube after its sega release. I bet lots of people here played the gc version early. I’m glad this game was part of my child hood. I didn’t have a Dreamcast so I’d have never played this game
Ling Wang i played it on gamecube as a child and loved it. It was one of my favorite games growing up
Black Americans truly are a diamond, without them we wouldnt have Rock n Roll, blues, jazz, disco, house music, techno,
hip hop, RnB,
and then Jamaicans created dance hall, reggae and our fellow Black latinos created Salsa
have to add the amazing black community in the UK that made the masterpiece of a genre that is Jungle
@@charmustdiee Much love to my UK brothers and sisters
y’all… the man that made this song never got paid for it 😭
I love how the lyrics have a low bit depth, making them sound slightly fuzzy. Definitely adds to it.
The beats for these knuckles songs capture the 90s hip hop vibe so perfect, even tho they came out after the 90s lol
