idk if you know, gerald was likely to have seen the propechy on the wall that depicted super sonic and chaos in hidden palace zone in sonic 3 & knuckles. gerald could have modeled shadow after super sonic (hence the quills pointing up) and the biolizard after perfect chaos which he may have seen in the mural present in sonic adventure 1’s lost world stage (hence the scream being the same).
SA2 gets a lot of hate from people who dont actually pay attention to the story. They need to being its writer back and let them helm the whole franchise
@alptugraakan7490 In his defense, this is the part of the story where 2 humanoid hedgehogs use 7 emeralds to turn gold (super) to beat a giant lizard that merged into a space colony that's literally dragging itself to crash into Earth. Not to mechin that Gerald went from Gaint lizard to small black hedgehog, who was also made by the help of aliens. So yeah, it's pretty silly on paper. But it is still one of the badass moments I'm I have ever experienced in gaming.
A common theory is that the reason why Shadow falls to the Earth and Sonic doesn’t is that Shadow isn’t used to the super transformation, and struggles to maintain it. He struggles to regulate his power, and expends too much. That’s why it seems like Sonic keeps asking if he’s OK
I'm pretty sure that's the point. Shadow doesn't know how to handle the power, and removing his inhibitor rings also causes him to use up too much power
Honestly I would be fine with them retelling the adventure 2 story in the next sonic movie. It’s honestly the best (and maybe only) way to introduce shadow (The REAL shadow and not that edgelord of today). I just really hope they get his character right..
This third movie will be the make or break for the movie universe Either they can make this a masterpiece of a movie (basically copy SA2, but insert the movie universe characters in and basically copy the credits scene of the game into the movie credits) which I wouldn’t mind if they split it into two parts to fit everything in. Maybe they could end part 1 with Robotnik blowing up half of the moon and the heroes reacting in kind. Also I wouldn’t mind if they ended it with the third movie even if it’s a masterpiece of a movie. Continuing it after would provide more opportunities for disappointment. Or they can screw everything up. Recast Robotnik, make shadow’s character more akin to today’s iteration, kidify the whole ARK tragedy/backstory (which is a must have for a story based around SA2, watering it down would basically be a war crime) basically kill the franchise in one ambitious foul swoop.

SA2 story really is somthing special, it introduces the rival and shows that he has an ability (chaos control) that gives him and edge over the hero, and you have this back and forth throughout the game, where the hero eventually triumphs over the rival by trying it for himself, this forshadows that they have a duality, then the rival goes through his own redemption arc as he meets up with the hero in the final act and theyre faced with an obstacle that neither of them could overcome alone, then sonic gives shadow a look of realization, that if HE could use the chaos emerald to chaos control, then Shadow could go super too, and together, they could defeat biolizard, and so they go to meet theyre destiny But then we get to the soundtrack of the final fight, the composition of the song is both heroic and edgy, a synthesis of our protags different personalities, the pitch rising and falling in the hook before the chorus, parelleling the characters competing natures, one taking lead over the other in theyre race towards the same goal, culminating in the live and learn chorus, theyre combined desire to fight for the future, to fight for us Absolute kino
They have to get inspiration from this ending in the sonic 3 movie. But most importantly, imagine if they actually use the Live and Learn song at the end of the movie as sonic and shadow go super. Could you imagine the fans in the theater as it starts playing!!!

As a kid, getting to this point, beating the game, and watching Sonic and Shadow go super to save the world was absolutely incredible and so much fun. I can’t wait for the 3rd movie. I hope they do justice to Shadow and his origin.

I just realized how Gerald Robotnik could've gone from the ginormous Biolizard to Shadow the Hedgehog for the ultimate lifeform. Shadow was based off of carvings of a super-powered hedgehog battling a giant lizard creature. The battle depicted was of Super Sonic battling Perfect Chaos. Gerald may have mistaken Perfect Chaos for the ultimate lifeform, and later found out that Super Sonic was the ultimate lifeform, leading Gerald to start over. Granted, I'm going off a hunch, and I'm not sure if Shadow being based on the battle was obscure trivia or something I subconsciously made up. Regardless it is SOMEWHAT interesting.

In Shadow's game he lost his memory and I think that's his new start for the new story of a fallen Shadow. I always think that in this game when Shadow falls, I think he actually does pass on from his original self. I really do wonder what his future would've looked like if he remembered Sonic Adventure 2's story that he was a part of bc in today, he would've been different.
