I love how you can get new looks for the characters in this game. When I was in Elementary, whenever I would get new shoes or something, I would pretend it gave me some kind of new ability.
Did my every sonic fan do that as a kid I remember getting shoes with plastic in the middle so I acted like it was the sonic shoes from sa2 and grinded on rails when I went outside
I was horrid at knuckle's stages as a child. And found the air necklace outta sheer luck from determination to look all over that stage and memorize it. So finding it scared the shit outta me cuz it was legitimately sink or swim in that tunnel. So when i found it i had to pause and thank several angels
Power-up items considered important in this game are essential for completing each story and easily show up right around you. Power-up items considered optional are more deeply hidden and only come in handy if you want to collect all of the emblems (except Sonic’s Magic Gloves which really don’t have much of a purpose if at all).
I did not know there was an air necklace. No wonder Knuckles' segment in the last story was underwater. I managed to beat it without the upgrade, but it took me a few attempts.

When I was a kid I had the air necklace before the first time I ever got to that level and I thought it was a requirement to have the necklace for that level. It wasn’t until I was like a teenager playing the game I noticed the bubbles and was like wait what? And found out it wasn’t a requirement lol
if they ever remake SA2, they should replace the "Magic Hands" with something cooler, like a time stop or a drop dash, or really anything other than magic hands
Big RIP for Shadow. -No bounce bracelet -Flame summersault isn't as important as it is for Sonic -Less stages If they ever do a remake, they need to not do him so dirty.
Unfortunately Shadow could have gotten on the same level as Sonic in terms of content... perhaps for this reason Shadow starred in his own game some time later, although I did not like the use of guns at all :S, saludos!

The upgrades that are missing are Iron Covering for Tails similar to Eggman's guard armor, and Magic Bikini for Rouge similar to Knuckles' air necklace.

Amazing thing was, I had this game for Dreamcast and got it again for Gamecube. But it wasn't until 2025 I even found out the Ancient Light was something you could get in it. All this time I never knew it was even in the game. But I did like the Flame Rings and the Hammer Glove. They were call clearly made with the same substance, I just call it "fire stone." I thought of ways my own OCs could use it, like embedded in a sword or as the orb at the end of a magic scepter.
By the way, I'm from Brazil in the northeast here the typical food and cuz cuz with egg here is the northeast boy you and everyone else have to respect You Americans respect us Brazilians
I've played this game on Gamecube back in the early 2000s and beat the last story a few times and i don't remembered getting an air necklace lol. Didn't find the Knuckles stages very hard at times, so seeing people calling Knuckles' final level "very hard" without the necklace made me go like "huh, how?". Then again, I'm fairly skilled at 3D platformers from that era. Anyhow, thanks for upgrade locations. Saves time from wondering where the more hidden ones are. :P
Hi, as I mentioned before, the first time I played this game was on Dreamcast, and I couldn't get the Air Necklace either and the game can still be completed (although it is more complicated) due to a very good level design, in the aquatic levels there are air bubbles in various places and they give you just enough time to advance, greetings!

Okay, I get that Sonic Adventure 2 was rushed and not what we were originally supposed to get back in the day but, the one thing that bothered me the most was the fact that Sonic didn't already have the Anicient Light power up. I mean, yeah, I suppose it can be explained that when he was captured, G.U.N. might have taken away his Lightspeed Shoes that he got back in the first game (though gave him normal ones instead?) but the Anicient Light is not something that you can just take off or put away. The only explaination that makes some sense to me (in head-canon), is that the Ancient Light was used to give Sonic his sheild at the end fight with Perfect Chaos, as Super Sonic never had one before that point, and when he transformed back to normal, Ancient Light faded away. I mean, it still doesn't make sense how it would be in Green Forest but I guess that's besides the point. And yes, I know both Super Sonic and Super Shadow can generate some sort of shield when they move in on the Final Hazard but I don't think that's the same thing, or, if it is, it must be to a diminished effect as they are both sharing the same energy from the emeralds. I don't know, that just always bothered me. Then again, the 2nd game does not connect to the original (it was supposed to though), so yeah, I guess that's why there are so many more questions than answers at the end of the day. I'm just happy that we can play as Chaos and Tikal, at least they were kind enough to make sure that was a thing considering the Master Emerald being destroyed again, though I feel like that was just a last second thought...on top of the other last second thoughts.
I understand the point and I think the same as you, the continuity with the first game is lost... in fact Sonic Adventure 2 has a mixture of playable styles, perhaps thinking about what the player liked the most and thus ensuring that the game would sell well I remember that the first installment received criticism about some game modes (BIG or AMY for example). With regard to shoes, this fact has always been a topic of debate and that is that this installment had the sponsor of a shoe brand called "SOAP", this perhaps altered the script somewhat or influenced a last-minute change and if you think about it, practically no Sonic game has any relationship with any previously released game, basically they are all a kind of reboot xD, saludos!

*Spoilers ahead you've been warned* I do own this game, but I've only been able to find all upgrades for only Sonic, Shadow, and Rouge. So I'm very grateful for this video as now I know where to find all of Tails and Robotniks *aka eggmans* upgrades now to as well as Knuckles, his sunglasses were the only things I couldn't find FYI, of course it would be better if the text in-game was in english instead of spanish, but “ce la vie” I guess. ✌️Also in this game, for the final fight as super Sonic/Shadow, when they transform after the somewhat *ahem* interesting movement Sonic does with his right hand, (which your forced to watch and CAN'T be skipped no matter how many times you play that fight BTW), if you got all his upgrades, when they transform into thier super forms all of the upgrades Sonic has on his arms disappear completely as does Shadows. The only upgrades they keep for the fight are the ones on thier shoes to travel across ring lines, which serve absolutely no purpose for that fight as both of them are flying. Oh yeah and if you use a cheat device to give them infinite rings (999), only Sonic will have that not Shadow so beware so normally as both of them actually need rings to stay in thier super forms, and also considering that everytime you get hit you lose 10 rings, plus the game switch's between them after every successful hit on the boss, (you can manually switch characters by flying either above or below the boss FYI) you need to be quick as Shadow for if EITHER of them runs out of rings the game treats that as losing a life ie dieing and your forced to fight the boss from the beginning ALL OVER AGAIN 😒, so be careful. P.s Without a cheat device both of them only get 50 rings each to work with BTW and unlike other Sonic games, you CAN'T collect more when you are low so again beware.
Hi! thank you for watching the video and how good it was that it was helpful! Unfortunately this game does not have the explanations of the upgrades spoken (if it had Sonic Adventure 1) I suppose it was due to the rush and / or lack of budget, it would have been as great for Omochao to comment on them. By the way, in most of my videos I put the voices in English and subtitles in Spanish to reach a wider audience. The truth is that this game is one of my Sonic favorites, it is very replayable, entertaining and yeah! In the final battle you have to have a bit of luck not to be hit by those hateful pink balls that throw you away causing you to lose rings and time, saludos!
No idea why both eggman and knuckles got extra power ups and neither tails nor rouge got different ones to compensate. I understand why knuckles got a breathing device. His portion of the final level is entirely underwater and the power up really helps. Considering that rouge's final portion is vertically based, maybe give her proper flight yah know like she does in every animated and comic series ever. I mean really whats the point of the those wings if she can't really use it. Tails never gets an armor upgrade like eggman does which doesn't make sense considering when you fight Tails in the dark campaign, he conveniently has extra armor when he doesn't actually get it in game. I'm not even gonna bother with sonic and shadow as the only power up sonic has over shadow is the magic hand and lets be honest, who actually used that ability regularly cause I sure as hell didn't and I put thousands of hours into this game.
@@jerolr8440 yeah no. I learned later on that as a tradeoff for not getting an armor pick-up, Tails gets a power upgrade instead. Guess it fits since Eggman and his mech are bigger than Tails and his.
so i did the math and turns out these are the amounts of power ups that a normal curios player will find. note: required -/to not needed -team hero- for sonic: 3-4 for tails: 2 for knuckles: 3-2 -team dark- for shadow: 1-2 for eggman: 2-3 for rough: 2 in total this counts up to 16 power ups out of the 28 power ups in the game. this is not a bad amount but seriously 16 out of 28. sega "com'n step it up" p.s. this is not me complaining, i love the game as much as you guys do, but if sega wants to make sure players find these they needed to at least put some of these power ups in later levels or heck even have new required power ups for characters that don't have have many like poor old shadow. but that is just my opinion on the mater again this is not a complaint just my thoughts, so don't let my rant ruin your day. see yall and have a good day or good night (when ever you may be reading this) good bye
That's right, the game has 15 upgrades for the and 13 upgrades for the giving a total of 28 upgrades. Apparently we were successful that the title saw the light, since it was one of the last games for Sega Dreamcast, thanks for watching the video mate! Saludos!
It's possible to skip ALMOST every upgrade it's not Easy tho you can easily skip the light speed shoes my getting on top of the little roof next to them in metal harbor spin dashing and jumping out of itt to propel to the next platform. Later in the game. Tho very precise no clips and jumps have to be made it's extremely difficult but doable.. knuckles and rouge however have to get there shovel and metall box breaking. Abilities even if you clip out and touch the master emerald price underground it won't be collected

Hola, este juego salió para PC, PS3 y XBOX360 solamente, no tiene versión Android nativa =(... lo que podrias probar es con un emulador de dreamcast y correr el juego ahi, aunque necesitas un movil medianamente potente. Con respecto a la armadura, se debe a que los niveles de eggman son más dificiles en comparación a los de Tails, pues la campaña Hero tiene una dificultad Normal y la Dark es DIficil, saludos!

Hi, the Laser Blaster allows the user's Lock-On Missiles to release violent explosions upon contact, thus damaging enemies that are near the target as well. Saludos!
There’s one upgrade in each level, for all characters. The flame ring for shadow can be obtained without the light dash, just a good spin dash is required
Now that I think about it, this reminds me of what they said that they could add items to sonic frontiers and that could be cosmetics and improvements. I hope they add this type of improvements to the game it would be very epic
The Mystic Melody powerup is very underrated, only a few gamers know how useful it can be in certain levels... anyway, it is mandatory to find the lost chaos, saludos!

The upgrade "Flame Ring" is on the Stage 15: Crazy Gadget [Checkpoint Nº4] (2:17) and it is not optional it is a requirement to advance in this same stage, saludos!

I tried replaying leves without the upgrades and the ones I missed the most were tail's and eggman's flying booster. I don't get the laser blaster though.

The first time I played SA2 on Dreamcast, I finished that stage without that Upgrade, air bubbles emerge under the water that allow you to stay underwater longer, saludos.

Or, give the Magic Hands a use, like you need them for one-of-a-kind items for your Chao Garden or something.

Yeah the power ups weren't even among the rival characters. I kinda like that better though, makes them feel unique.

I understand the point and I think the same as you, the continuity with the first game is lost... in fact Sonic Adventure 2 has a mixture of playable styles, perhaps thinking about what the player liked the most and thus ensuring that the game would sell well I remember that the first installment received criticism about some game modes (BIG or AMY for example).
With regard to shoes, this fact has always been a topic of debate and that is that this installment had the sponsor of a shoe brand called "SOAP", this perhaps altered the script somewhat or influenced a last-minute change and if you think about it, practically no Sonic game has any relationship with any previously released game, basically they are all a kind of reboot xD, saludos!

*Spoilers ahead you've been warned* I do own this game, but I've only been able to find all upgrades for only Sonic, Shadow, and Rouge. So I'm very grateful for this video as now I know where to find all of Tails and Robotniks *aka eggmans* upgrades now to as well as Knuckles, his sunglasses were the only things I couldn't find FYI, of course it would be better if the text in-game was in english instead of spanish, but “ce la vie” I guess. ✌️Also in this game, for the final fight as super Sonic/Shadow, when they transform after the somewhat *ahem* interesting movement Sonic does with his right hand, (which your forced to watch and CAN'T be skipped no matter how many times you play that fight BTW), if you got all his upgrades, when they transform into thier super forms all of the upgrades Sonic has on his arms disappear completely as does Shadows. The only upgrades they keep for the fight are the ones on thier shoes to travel across ring lines, which serve absolutely no purpose for that fight as both of them are flying. Oh yeah and if you use a cheat device to give them infinite rings (999), only Sonic will have that not Shadow so beware so normally as both of them actually need rings to stay in thier super forms, and also considering that everytime you get hit you lose 10 rings, plus the game switch's between them after every successful hit on the boss, (you can manually switch characters by flying either above or below the boss FYI) you need to be quick as Shadow for if EITHER of them runs out of rings the game treats that as losing a life ie dieing and your forced to fight the boss from the beginning ALL OVER AGAIN 😒, so be careful. P.s Without a cheat device both of them only get 50 rings each to work with BTW and unlike other Sonic games, you CAN'T collect more when you are low so again beware.
Hi! thank you for watching the video and how good it was that it was helpful! Unfortunately this game does not have the explanations of the upgrades spoken (if it had Sonic Adventure 1) I suppose it was due to the rush and / or lack of budget, it would have been as great for Omochao to comment on them. By the way, in most of my videos I put the voices in English and subtitles in Spanish to reach a wider audience.
The truth is that this game is one of my Sonic favorites, it is very replayable, entertaining and yeah! In the final battle you have to have a bit of luck not to be hit by those hateful pink balls that throw you away causing you to lose rings and time, saludos!

I love this game
No idea why both eggman and knuckles got extra power ups and neither tails nor rouge got different ones to compensate.
I understand why knuckles got a breathing device. His portion of the final level is entirely underwater and the power up really helps. Considering that rouge's final portion is vertically based, maybe give her proper flight yah know like she does in every animated and comic series ever. I mean really whats the point of the those wings if she can't really use it.
Tails never gets an armor upgrade like eggman does which doesn't make sense considering when you fight Tails in the dark campaign, he conveniently has extra armor when he doesn't actually get it in game.
I'm not even gonna bother with sonic and shadow as the only power up sonic has over shadow is the magic hand and lets be honest, who actually used that ability regularly cause I sure as hell didn't and I put thousands of hours into this game.
Ur tripping tails does have an armor upgrade bruh !
@@jerolr8440 yeah no. I learned later on that as a tradeoff for not getting an armor pick-up, Tails gets a power upgrade instead. Guess it fits since Eggman and his mech are bigger than Tails and his.
so i did the math and turns out these are the amounts
of power ups that a normal curios player will find.
note: required -/to not needed
-team hero-
for sonic: 3-4
for tails: 2
for knuckles: 3-2
-team dark-
for shadow: 1-2
for eggman: 2-3
for rough: 2
in total this counts up to 16 power ups out of the 28 power ups in the game.
this is not a bad amount but seriously 16 out of 28. sega "com'n step it up"
p.s. this is not me complaining, i love the game as much as you guys do, but if sega wants
to make sure players find these they needed to at least put some of these power ups in later
levels or heck even have new required power ups for characters that don't have have many
like poor old shadow. but that is just my opinion on the mater again this is not a complaint
just my thoughts, so don't let my rant ruin your day. see yall and have a good day or good night

That's right, the game has 15 upgrades for the and 13 upgrades for the giving a total of 28 upgrades. Apparently we were successful that the title saw the light, since it was one of the last games for Sega Dreamcast, thanks for watching the video mate! Saludos!

Wow. Two of Sonic's upgrades are ripped straight out of Sonic adventure.
It's possible to skip ALMOST every upgrade it's not Easy tho you can easily skip the light speed shoes my getting on top of the little roof next to them in metal harbor spin dashing and jumping out of itt to propel to the next platform. Later in the game. Tho very precise no clips and jumps have to be made it's extremely difficult but doable.. knuckles and rouge however have to get there shovel and metall box breaking. Abilities even if you clip out and touch the master emerald price underground it won't be collected

Hola, este juego salió para PC, PS3 y XBOX360 solamente, no tiene versión Android nativa =(... lo que podrias probar es con un emulador de dreamcast y correr el juego ahi, aunque necesitas un movil medianamente potente.
Con respecto a la armadura, se debe a que los niveles de eggman son más dificiles en comparación a los de Tails, pues la campaña Hero tiene una dificultad Normal y la Dark es DIficil, saludos!

There’s one upgrade in each level, for all characters. The flame ring for shadow can be obtained without the light dash, just a good spin dash is required

Now that I think about it, this reminds me of what they said that they could add items to sonic frontiers and that could be cosmetics and improvements. I hope they add this type of improvements to the game it would be very epic

I tried replaying leves without the upgrades and the ones I missed the most were tail's and eggman's flying booster. I don't get the laser blaster though.

We all know that the air necklace isn't optional, I have PTSD from trying to clear knuckles' section in cannon's core without it💀
The first time I played SA2 on Dreamcast, I finished that stage without that Upgrade, air bubbles emerge under the water that allow you to stay underwater longer, saludos.
